While driving the RE57090 service I found this seemingly strange subsidiary signal at the rail junction near Olching. It seems to be an overlined red cross in the place where Zs 3 signal should be. I've never seen or read about this kind of aspect before, does anyone here know about it?
I looked all over the web and couldn't find anything, must have some meaning. Very strange indeed. I do remember seeing that X in white also in TSW but can't remember where.
I think that it means that the truck ahead is blocked in some way and that the train should use alternate route instead.
Aahh yes, that's right. I believe it was this signal, but can't find a picture with the "strange subsidiary signal", unfortunately.
Stop! This route isn’t finished. Proceed with caution when releasing it. Continuing down this route may lead to poor customer satisfaction. Okay, enough satire. In reality I can’t find any info online about that signal but I’ve had a jolly good look. Red crosses usually mean some sort of stop or caution but paired with a clear green aspect, I have no idea.
No this is no real signal. I think Lucas, the dude who makes signalling for german routes, explained it. If i recall it correctly, this X is basically a ingame mechanism to signal some kind of failure (not gameplay-wise but dispatcher-signalling-wise). So it's like a sign that shows you something went very wrong with the simulation itself. If you see this, make a bug report with as much information as possible (platform, route, service, train, signal name etc.).
I once made a bug report on the one at the end of Wuppertal Hbf. Matt explained that basically the signal was trying to display something it couldn't.
