If ever there was a need for a (permanent) temporary speed restriction this realignment of the down fast at Slade is one. British Ace spend a good minute analysing that piece of track on his Manchester Voyager video on YouTube today as the sudden jolt wasn’t pleasant. I don’t know why they got the alignment wrong in the first place but as you say it’s better than trains colliding although it’s not the most elegant fix.
Not personally been over that piece of track yet, but saw it BAces stream, and yes, it's not good at all - needs to be sorted again really, along with the signalling issues mentioned above. Still a cracking route though.
