I can understand refraining from posting but being aware of feedback whether it is DLC choice/pricing policy, the core issues, promises made re the save game or general concern about the state of the game should be a priority for the person running the project. It’s not like we are here to throw rotten eggs or mushy tomatoes, we’re here because 95% of the time we enjoy TSW and just want to see it be the best it can be.

Hopefully the community managers start putting together like a weekly or daily digest of the key points/feedback from the forum for him to see. I can see why it would be slightly soul destroying given the feedback currently is mainly negative, but unfortunately it makes it all the more important that staff at the highest levels are aware.

Hopefully there is a briefing process in place. And negativity sadly does stem from lack of information forthcoming. I mean for all we know there might be an army of coders and developers working away on all sorts of aspects but that’s not the vibe coming out of DTG at present. I once again present the example of the Save Game where a specific undertaking was given to look at providing more slots and to fix the failure to reload objective data when chaining. But it all just went into limbo, then in the meantime instead of that we get the updates to cripple Dovetail Live for PC users with mods installed. Priorities, priorities…

Not just that, there's also the comments about his team and their abilities and work ethic.

I think Matt's recent biggest hit in this forum was the reception of Thomas & Friends. A few of his latest posts even were teasers for the upcoming reveal and you can see how much fun he had doing these. Just to get one of the biggest disappointments with the community reactions later soon.

It might have been also just a resolution for new year to stay away from the forum, so who knows.

I actually wanted to step back from the forum as well (and did so for almost the entirety of December) just to not get engaged in any kind of furious talk this year, where we bring each other up for nothing (something what by the way Spikee1975 should have done as well - I quite miss him in here and his mods on TSC), and to actually focus on modding TSW and other things in life.

This is actual quite an important reminder for anyone in here. If you don't feel strong enough for the debates in this forum, just log off for a while and come back when you feel to.

I forgot about that tbh - I do now remember though some users making it quite personal and being quite rude over it which isn't really fair. I think it's always important to try to articulate feedback on here as constructive feedback, rather than just all out ranting. Yeah, I don't think it's a great decision for new content, and there are several real life trains and routes I'd prefer to it, but ultimately it is a big deal to get a licence with Mattel, and I can see how it may attract younger players. Wouldn't be one I'm likely to purchase though.

Ultimately, if that episode lost the involvement of Matt in the forums, that's really sad. I hope that he comes back on at some point, maybe after a bit of a break - his posts are missed!

I have spoken to Pete (Spikee75) a few times on Steam chat and he is doing fine.

There’s a couple of times when I’ve been tempted into rant mode, with one individual in particular, so you just have to take a deep breath and step back. Sometimes better just to let them eat static. Still, this forum is relatively civil compared to some such as the official Frontier Elite Dangerous board, really salty and toxic. Or Speakers Corner at Overclockers UK, though the mods over there have currently closed it down!

I can recommend the Ignore function of this forum, to ignore individual members :) Makes my time on here that much more relaxing.

Piet is actually quite active on RailSim.de, but it appears he somehow lost faith in TSW a bit as he's almost only active in the TSC section of it. We used to talk on 30th of December with each other there, but since I'm not so much into TSC, conversations do not happen often.

You can have a chat with him there, even in english. Contrary to this english only forum, RailSim.de also allows posts in english, which a few users from foreign countries also regularly do.

Yeah, I had that one time. The result was I got banned for two tweeks because of "continous conversation". However, everything good now I think. I apologize for the difficulties I caused back in December 2023, trainsimplayer

P.S. Sometimes I just look into Q&A threads to see the next round of you and that individual. :) But I think its also just good for both of you if they just keep refrain from engaging and let questions open for those who they are meant for (even if they would have an answer for it).
