Route Mbta Commuter Feedback Thread

For me, the main problem with the face of this(and not only this) loco is that DTG can and do make metal-looking materials, but this one looks like it's made of cardboard.

 

Yeah, I agree, not only does the material itself look pretty funky, but things seem to be out of place as well (like the headlights that are lower than irl, and the wrong wipers). I'm not sure why this is, the HSPs and bilevel cars look excellent, I was very impressed, and even the MBBs look good.

 

The headlights look just fine.

The Worcester Line route is amazing, and for the most part it’s accurate and the models are great. There is one big thing that bugs me with the route and I dont know if it’s is a me problem or game problem but I’m almost curtain it’s with the game.

The “new” F40 and HSP46 engine sounds are way too quiet. If I was oblivious I would have thought they were battery units, no joke. I put in multiple other US Add-on locomotives in the route, no other units are quiet. Just the MBTA units. There is no reason the bell sound should drain out all engine audio. Can this be looked into? Thanks

 

Issue with track textures on Boston Worcester after today's update on PS5.
Service number 7:28 P589 Boston South - Ashland with the HSP 46.
Custom weather with light clouds.

Tried other services and all seem to be affected.
Apologies if there's not enough info, never posted before.

Probably a mod issue. I had someone else try it, and the tracks are fine.

How do they even manage to do this is beyond my comprehension. The route didn't even include any changes in the patch notes. They just brake LOVE they don't even touch.

 

It’s fixed now but gosh this could’ve been avoided if they simply verified and tested the patch, before rolling it out to everyone…

 

I'm sorry that was completely unacceptable that it even made it out at all. DTG really needs to step up their QA because major game breaking issues like that needs to not happen at all.

 

When doing one of the Extra services where you haul flat cars I encountered some penalty braking behaviour that I don't understand.

It was the 11:37 Extra where you have three flat cars with an F40PH-3C at either end. The service went ok for awhile but as I got close to a train ahead of me and started getting yellow signals the safety system directed me to slow down. So I moved the brake into Suppression and hit the acknowledge button which stopped the beeping and the light went out on the HUD. The problem is a second or two later the light on the HUD comes back on, the PCS OPEN light comes on and the train brakes me to a stop requiring me to go through the recovery process to get moving again. This occured four times during the service.

I don't understand why this happens, normally when it directs you to slow down you put the brake in Suppression, hit the acknowledge button and once you are below the target speed you can release the brake and carry on. Does anyone know why the PCS OPEN light would come on and brake me to a halt?

The only thing I can think of is that the F40PH-3C does not have a Banking Comms button on it's radio, so I wasn't linked to the rear locomotive. Could that cause this? I did check to see what the keyboard shortcut was for Banking Comms but it seems to be unassigned and for some reason I could not reassign it so I was unable to test with it on, assuming the F40PH-3C has that ability at all.

a tiny question, since I am coming back to HSP after playing quite some hours on Peninsula Corridor, where you usually also have to set up HEP engine at the start... do you do anything with HEP here or the loco has it automatically turned on at the start of services? also, how can you tell if it is on besides the voltage/power numbers on displays? does it produce smoke out of a separate vent like on MP36PH on Peninsula?

 

It's on by default.

How do you get the CSX freight services and AI to appear? I have SPG installed and I don't see any.

 

You need more than SPG.

 

You need almost every us freight route for it be playable and ai.
