The Bombardier/St. Louis Car Company, and Nippon Sharyo Highliners built for Metra are both a different and unique series of Electric Railcars operated by Metra. The Bombardier and St. Louis Highliners, originally operated by the Illinois Central railroad, were built originally back in the 1970's. These have all been retired from revenue service as of 2016. Image: The new Nippon Sharyo Highliners were built in the early 2000's all the way to 2017. Image: (Both images are not mine) These EMU's operated on the Metra (Former Illinois Central) Electric District. Metra's shortest line, but one of the most active. This route would have to be created as well, to use the Highliners, since they aren't operated anywhere else in the world, nor any currently existing routes for Train Simulator. I think these EMU's and the Electric District route would be a good addition to Train Simulator. The Highliners are a unique type of train, and they operate on a compact route, serving many popular locations, such as Millenium Station, and it would be an interesting experience driving these trains.
