That could be a reason, I'll have to test and take note. I've not had TPWS trip for that reason on caution aspects for other scenarios so that hadn't occurred to me. Edit / Update: Thank you LucaZone, that was entirely the reason. I have learnt something new.
Weird one today - signal outside Attenborough heading in Nottingham direction was apparently - and as expected since I'd passed doubles -single yellow, but I passed it and had game over for passing red. Loaded last checkpoint to do run again from East Midlands parkway and had same aspect sequence, this time I stopped at the single yellow (from which, looking ahead, I could see a stationary 158 in Attenborough on my line - so the signal really ought to have been at danger). And indeed I saw in map that it was red. But Tabbing, I got the "proceed as singles indicate" message. All of this suggests to me that there are two signals there with mere cm after each other or something like that. Anyone else encountered this?
Are all the collectables on MML now collectable? I remember reading somewhere that some couldn’t be obtained or were missing?
Not 100% certain but I'm 95% sure it was 1D52. Have vast majority of UK DLC, including the skyhook freight packs, if it makes a difference.
LucaZone Adam. Possibly one to look at here (confirmed from above) PC Player - Steam Service 1D52 Leicester to Nottingham - HST After East Midlands Parkway a 158 runs ahead of you, but the signals are out of sequence. The signal behind the 158 shows single yellow, not red, all the way into Nottingham. Pics show Double Yellow displayed, but should be single yellow. and at Attenborough Signal behind the 158 is a single yellow, contrary to the HUD display. Passing a Single Yellow ends the game.
I'm going to give it another try tomorrow, both times I tried it, it crashed as I was coming up to a red at Trent Junction, so I'll save it at East Midlands Parkway just in case
LucaZone Adam. Any news on getting the smoke back for the cooling towers at Ratcliffe On Soar please.?
Whilst you're here. There's a big blue tower block next to Leicester station, been there for years and is an eyesore as you approach Leicester. Hideous as it is, Leicester doesn't look right without it lol.
love to see this! I really do wish the track was opened up at Ratcliffe Power Station at some point and freight services added to/from the power station, it would really add a whole new layer to the timetable!
The entire site requires rebuilding from scratch to bring it up to 'interactive' level detail. Sadly its not just a case of opening the player boundary to the space.
that's fair enough and thanks for letting us know why it isn't currently accesible. i love MML now it's in my view by far the most improved route from when it was released to how it is now, the only thing i'd like to see is Ratcliffe Power Station provided with timetabled freight services.. maybe "Cargo Vol 5: Coal" could be a way to do that, i'm sure a lot of people (myself included) would happily pay for that!
Any chance of an extension to Sheffield lol also great job with the route it's looking great after the updates
To put the 'extend to Sheffield' request into perspective compared to the existing route: Despite frequent discussions, 'extensions' to TSW routes is simply not a thing. Yes, confusingly some TSW routes 'appear' to have been extended, but technically they actually haven't. They were either originally planned to be much larger and thus the track/signalling was already installed at initial release, with scenery being added to the missing sections at a later date, or the extended version completely replaced the original, such as when the larger Southeastern High Speed route was part of an annual TSW update requiring all players to buy it (thus funding the additional work). Neither option is available to the Midland Main Line.
This is why i'm hopeful one day we could see Ratcliffe Power Station be introduced to timetable mode, with the track already laid there and it not technically being an extension. I agree with what you say about Sheffield and extensions in general, considering we've literally never had an extension to a route before!
Make that part of the route as a separate DLC, have it come with the Class 222 meridian and the EMR Class 170/EMT Class 156. We can use route hopping to continue the services. A nice little compromise I think
It is in the GWE one but on here it just seems to say DSD Isolation Switch, and the one next to it is Vigilance. AWS seems to be working, but not sure how I turned it on lol
LucaZone when you are walking through HST gangways you are stopped by invisible doors. You close them, and the doors that were opened close. You open them, and the doors that were closed open, then you can walk through. Please may you take a look? PS5
Yes, the MML one is confusing because of the labelling. One of those (I think it’s the one marked ‘vigilance isolation’) is actually the AWS isolation.
1C20 07:30 (starts 07:29) 22nd Dec Derby to London St Pancras has a stop at long Eaton, but is much longer than the platform and no SDO or anything?
Yes, this is right - thank you. When I changed the vigilance switch to normal, AWS self test started.
HSTs did stop at Long Eaton in reality but didn't have SDO, The Guard would tell people over the tannoy what carriages to exit the train from. In game you can just switch to an outside camera and close the doors off the platform. It's what I do.
As far as I'm aware no one ever did, announcements were made at Stations the services called at prior and announcements were frequent on the train. There'd also be signs on the platforms with "Passengers for Long Eaton (for example) beyond this point"
Don’t forget that for the whole of railway history up until that time, it was normal practice that anyone could open a door anywhere - whether you were in a station or not, or even with the train in motion - and fall out. It remains the case with a car. It was simply assumed that people wouldn’t open a door and get out without looking. Only in the last few years have we decided that this is an unsafe assumption. The HSTs were built - and operated for most of their history - without door locks of any kind. By the time the MML route is set they had been retro-fitted with door locks, but they had ‘grandfather rights’ allowing the door locks to be released along the whole length of the train, even in platforms which were shorter than the train. Only on TSW, of course, do the doors actually swing open! In real life once the door locks were released the passenger still had to open the window, reach out and open the door using the handle on the outside. To do that without noticing that there was no platform there would be quite an achievement.
This is detailed information - thank you. If possible, it would be good if it could be simulated such as only doors next to the platform are opened, but all unlocked. Bit jarring when I looked outside of the train. On another topic, and I don't know how likely it is as ultimately the MML 43 is a different version to the GWE one, I really hope we get some of the feature improvements that are coming to the GWE version down the line. Guard mode for 1. Similarly hope we get it on the MML 158 now it is on the SCR 158.
Saw this on MML on the PS4 today. I don't think that is true to the EMT design, is it. 2f54453e-d2d0-425e-98a3-024b42a48082 by li150special posted Feb 3, 2025 at 9:18 AM
