The entire Ratcliffe Power Station loop needs building if its going to become accessible. I take it you are using free roam to drive beyond the player boundary of the route. I am talking with DTG about this as they gave no warning that this new TSW4 feature would give free reign for players to go anywhere on the route without restriction.
Can't complete any HST services/scenarios on journey mode Ps5 Not quite awake especially way too many crashes on that always near the end getting ridiculous now
There's only 1 HST service I can't complete now in journey mode now due to crashes on PS5. It was every service/scenario before an update earlier in the week. What I did find with that particular service is that it always crashes moments before arriving into Nottingham so that annoys me even more after spending 30+ minutes doing the service.
Would really appreciate an update on the PS5 crash issues from Skyhook. The amount of time we've had to wait to be able to do something as basic as play the game is obscene.
I think there has been a relevant update. Remember, Skyhook doesn't directly make the console ports of the route; DTG takes Skyhook's work and converts it as necessary to fit the more constrained hardware. So problems specific to the console platforms are DTG's responsibility, not Skyhook's. This is especially evident with some fixes having made it to the PC but not the console yet; this shows that Skyhook has been doing the necessary work, but DTG is lagging behind. IIRC, the relevant update was that some problems had been identified with "SpeedTree metadata". SpeedTree is a well-known middleware package used to render reasonable looking foliage on a large scale, as many games (including TSW) require. Instead of storing every leaf and branch as individual geometry, or repeating identical trees everywhere, each tree is built from a common template modified by an individual mathematical description. The latter is the "metadata". Don't ask me specifically what could go wrong with it, and why that would be console-specific, but that's what they're talking about.
Has there been an update? My recent experiences beg to differ. I said Skyhook because they're the ones actually engaging in this thread. I'd love an update from anyone really. It doesn't change the fact that the length of time we've had to wait to get such a fundamental fix is unacceptable.
Hi Everyone, Just to confirm work continues on the MML PS5 crash. As others have also pointed out, we at Skyhook do not deal with the console ports of the software. We work with one version on the DTG servers and DTG then ports that version to all supported platforms. For an issue that is so intrinsically linked to just the PS5 we are having to work closely with DTG to get to the bottom of it. No one wants this issue fixed more than we do and have again this week requested more support from DTG to get to the bottom of it asap.
Im guessing, PS5 owners couldnt give a toss whos problem it is. They just want it fixed. When did this dlc release? May?
Yes. I really don't care who's at fault, these things happen. I just think that it's absolutely ridiculous how long we've had to wait to do something as basic as play the route without it crashing. I think DTG need to review how they communicate and work with their third parties, as this debacle clearly shows whatever they're doing isn't working.
I'm just a long-time train sim user. I also happen to be a Computer Systems Engineer, so my guesses as to what's going on inside the game tend to be more educated than average. I'm not affiliated with anyone.
Abandoned like that supposed “patch” still coming soon. We have more chance to see GTA VI to be fair, I just lost any hope, it’s always the same message “we continue to work on this patch and it’s coming soon” and Jane, well he disappeared for good. I just moved on from MML and I use both Class 158 and HST elsewhere because the route constantly crash.
At this rate GTA 6 might come out before the PS5 fix. I sincerely hope that this isn't another case of the broken signalling on Boston Sprinter, which also rendered that route unplayable if you played with safety systems. We had to wait over a year for that to be fixed, and even then that was only because it got a TSW3 upgrade and the Acela. Will we have to wait for TSW5 and the inevitable Meridian or 156 DLC for MML to be playable?
I don't tend to get crashes on PC, but had one last night. Can't make your mind up scenario, right at the end. Approaching Derby station. Slowing down, station coming into view. Crash to desktop with Unreal error.
Followed the advise from a forum member, deleted and then reinstalled MML on PS5. Two runs (HST and 158) went OK, but sure enough the third run (TT 158 from Nottingham to Leicester) just crashed in orderly fashion somewhere in the middle. *SIGH*
Morning Everyone, I thought I would let you know that we have had some positive development on the PS5 crash. A fix is currently in circulation for testing. Indication so far if the fix does work is that it was related to the way SpeedTree foliage had been implemented on MML. This will join the rest of the MML updates that have been developed and be rolled out as soon as appropriate.
Good day, Do you have an approximative date to when this fix will come out ? It’s been months you said “it’s coming soon” and others and I, start to find this situation quite ridiculous as we paid for a DLC which is almost unplayable. I only use the HST and 158 on other routes as it’s constantly crashing. Hope to have a clear answer. Thanks

1D42 London St Pancras - Nottingham, Xbox One. Having issues with the red signal just after East Midlands Parkway. Im due to arrive at Nottingham at 15:12 but stuck on the lights at 7.2miles remaining. Is there a problem with this? The train infront doesnt seem to move. Eagerly awaiting reply! Thanks
Hiya, Technically the updates are always in the hands of DTG as the files live their servers. We are in discussions regarding a release and when everything is finalised and ready to go, DTG will coordinate communication about it which Skyhook will support via its' own channels. WRT Service 1D42, in the latest simulation of the timetable that service was expected to achieve: - Arrive at East Midlands Parkway @ 14:58 - Arrive at Nottingham @ 15:13
Hi, the only issue is that the light doesnt change at all, Ive sat there up until 15:29 and nothing happens. Could it be a fault my end or a glitch in the timetable? Thanks!
Completed Level 1 and 2 of the MML mastery months ago (in TSW3) - no mastery tile appeared. Although I had vastly exceeded the mileage required to complete Tier 2, the graphic showed partial completion (approx 20%), yet the text showed Tier 2 complete. In TSW4, both text and graphics are now both showing 100% completed for Tiers 1 and 2, yet the MML mastery tile is still not showing up. I've completed a few scenarios "in weather" (just in case), but the mastery tile still annoyingly fails to display. Does anyone else have a similar problem with the MML mastery tile? Is this another failed "Mastery" tile (in the same vein as Island Line, which is still missing after 15 months or so).
It doesn't show up in the Mastery Rewards and cannot be toggled on. I got it to work on TSW3 by making a mod, but this doesn't work on TSW4. Sadly, somebody's done a lot of work for the Fayre, only for it never to be seen by the players.
Would be great if the Mastery award on XBOX would be fixed. completed all the challenges but doesn't show up on the mastery screen.
Hiya, I will chase up DTG again about this. I was informed back in September it had been resolved for the TSW4 release. Having tested it, our accounts already have the award from before release. The Mastery system is entirely controlled by DTG and not accessible to external developers. We simply develop the scene to be granted once the requirements of the challenges are met.
1D42: There's a train that's stuck northeast of East Midlands Parkway. Go to the map, click and remove it.
In the updated version coming soon, this does not appear to occur and the service 1D42 runs through the area and reaches Nottingham without incident.
Same here! I looked online and there was one in Nottingham that doesn't show up on the game. I don't know if it's because someone was using a PC but the bench doesn't show up on Xbox. Platform 6 towards the stairs before the tunnels.
I can't believe I'm having to ask this, but can we expect to see an update, and finally play this route on PS5 without issues, before the end of the year? DTG and Skyhook should be ashamed of how they've left this route in it's state for so long.
I just came to ask about PS5. I was just about to purchase the route on PS5 and then remembered there had been some issues. I’d assumed they had been fixed but glad I checked.
We understand the frustration and it has taken longer than anticipated to get a new update out for Midland Main Line. Thank you for your patience. However we do expect to see the route updated for TSW3 and TSW4 before the end of the year*. The current plan is to be able to start talking about this update next week, hopefully that won't change. Testing with internal and extended groups has been going well. *DTG has ultimate final say on when updates are scheduled and released.
