As it have been announced on there Sunday stream of festival of rail 2023 Midland mainline has been confirmed I would like to the community to make suggest on what would they like to see more of the Midland main line? What Midland mainline route would you like to see in the future? What new features / locomotive would be implemented on the route?
Who would want to see a Midland main line London to Sheffield, Nottingham and Corby with class 222/360 and the HST class 43
for me a mml south set in the same era as this upcoming route so we can have the hst and 700/319 and a 222
I'd love to see them extend up to Sheffield from Derby via Chesterfield or south to Market Harborough or Kettering. With this route extension I'd also like to see the Class 222 Meridian introduced too. Wishful thinking but maybe one day..
Hopefully you can see the Brush works at Loughborough. Also some units such as Class 153, 156 and 222.
For me I think there should be a extension to Sheffield or a new route from leichester to St pancras so we can drive proper express services with both hsts and 222 meridians. Also I saw a mega sim video of him operating a service on the line in tsc and its very short shorter than gwe in terms of duration so It has to be extended. Now I love hsts but this should of came without it as I would rather have a hst with a old interoir and enguine rather than a modern one in a pre 2020s year. Though I might be proven wrong if there are good reviews of the hst interiour. Just wondering do the class 158s operate in 4 cars sets with two car sets coupled together on the line or is it only 2 cars that operate on the line.
I enjoy the feeling of travelling as well, as it is not easy for me to visit. I love the different types of trains on the route.
Absolutely the 43 in XC livery. The 222 is a DMU also a 220. I’m just tired of seeing EMUs being churned out with postage stamp windscreen views. Apart from the 323 and 465.
Class 222/220, more variety of 43’s. Also 50’s,56’s. I posted suggestions on the latter a few times on suggestions on the previous forum format. Don’t get me wrong I still enjoy what’s on offer, but we’re being deprived of many other locos I feel. ps I realise the 220/222’s are DMUs.
I also agree. As much as I am excited to see the 158 come to the game, I would also love to see more MUs (like the 232 and 465/9) that don't have the corridor at the front.
Personally I would like to see the route in the classic diesel era when Class 45’s screamed up and down the route with everything from Mark 2 aircon stock to tatty Mark Ones.
I wonder if there are any plans to layer the EM Class 43 HST onto SEHS at St Pancras as AI to make it feel more alive?
I’m hoping once the HST is released onto livery designer we’ll see it on a few more routes. It seems like it’s wasted being stuck on GWE
i’m pretty sure they’d do that tbh, saves them time and effort and they’ve done it multiple times before so no reason why not to this time round, and hopefully if they do it we’ll have a good model unlike tsc
Yes I know that was the whole point of the sentence but the bloomin autocorrect wouldn’t wouldn’t allow emu so changed it to emu instead and as I am on my phone it was too small and similar for me too notice
EMT and EMR are two different franchises. the new MML route is set during the EMT era but SEHS is set during the start of the EMR's franchise
Wait, EMT and EMR are different. Companys it would be nice if got a Midland main line set in the era of East Midland Railway
Even if AP supply the sampled sounds this doesn't mean that the programmed sounds would be better. The one unit where AP and DTG have teamed up is the 465 and that's come out well, but that doesn't mean it would on the 700, and from what I know AP don't program sounds in TSW so it would be up to DTG or a 2nd party to do that task
I agree with the Sheffield extension, the route it only 30 miles after all. Also would be very nice to have the meridian added to this route as it is the main EMR intercity train right now.
Will the ex Grand Central HSTs with the buffers at the front be appearing seeing as though it is set in 2019 after they all Transferred to EMT
i would possibly like to see an extension to leeds which would be possible with that era also a class 222 and 156 added at some point!!
