Steam Missing Compatible Content On Steam

35 gb to download! Thankfully it'll only take 6 minutes

 

I do understand the issues happen, so I'm not going to deliver any hateful comments, although I will point out that Steam proves to be a disappointment yet another time, and it's sad irony that it's the loyalty which forces the customers to keep using this platform.

It's on top of the fact that for me all TSW releases on Steam are way more expensive than on Epic (I happen to live in Poland, where new route DLCs now cost PLN 185 on Steam against PLN 139 on Epic). But having the huge collection on Steam means that transfer is not really an option...

Edit: when I was writing this, something happened and now some DLCs are downloading. Thanks DTG Team for reacting to this.

 

While Steam now appears to be downloading the DLCs, they still aren't showing up as owned in Steam.

It is updating with me as we speak! Can I now safely remove the TSW3 DLCs from my HDD? Because otherwise I don't have enough room on it to fully process the 'update'...

 

Just be patient. I'm in the same boat. But now its coming around. First 5,6GB for TSW4 no routes at all. Then after a bit it loaded the three routes, another 22 gigs. Now, just now I refreshed steam and 70 GB is starting to download.

 

Things are finally starting to move. It can't be said that this has been a smooth rollout for customers using Steam though. .

 

We appreciate you for fighting for us and I may even buy yet another DLC tonight as a thank you for the devs

 

84Gb download started here so I am assuming that is the core update and all the previously purchased content. On a technical note none of the dlc is showing up as 'owned' which I assume means that at present we couldnt remove or reinstate any particular legacy preowned content?

I thought that if you've already activated your old profile on TSW4 that TSW3 can be deleted. With activating your old TSW3 profile in TSW4, Steam should be aware that you already own TSW3 and port your purchased DLC's over, regardless if TSW3 is still on your HDD.

At least you're used to dealing with our frustrations when things don't go as planned. I have been enjoying early access since the 21st. So far enjoying TSW4. Hopefully with TSW5 Unreal Engine 5.x. We live in hope.

 

all dlc now showing as owned...update now increased to over 180GB (7 hours!) lol

 

My second download has started. Most likely DLC's. First download 40+Gb, second download 145Gb downloading now. 1.5 hours to wait. Steam's download speeds really are bad, especially when one has a 1Gb internet connection at home.

Same here but what i don't get is it won't let me download my DLC so how is the ****** update so big? TSW4 base install was only like 36 GB? What is it downloading????

 

I'm assuming that it's your DLC's being downloaded and ported over. Once the download has been installed you should see your DLC's appear in your TSW4 DLC list. Having a lot of DLC's means a lot of Gb's to download.

 

That would probably be all the DLC downloading, thats what happened to me in my second update

Use DLC manager, you don't have to wait all night to play. Select route after route manually, choose what to play first.

I chose to go for GWE first to see if the HST is still broken in rain.

Working now but 164Gb to download. Estimating 5.5 hours+ Sheesh. That's got to be redownloading the actual game as well, surely?

Well might as well let it run now and play Snowrunner for the next two probably three days until all the files are gathered.

There has got to be a better way to do this next time.

That's what i was trying to do and why i was so confused about the huge update #2 (146GB), but as of right now the only things listed are the TSW4 routes themselves (and Vectron and Scotsman)....weird!

 

Pause the download, log out of Steam and login again. Your appmanifest containing all TSW4 compatible downloads will then be updated. You can then tick / untick what you like.

The huge update is of course all the DLC you own. (for me 175 GB, no way I'm doing this in one download, apart from the time it takes, it will temporarily need double that size on your SSD. Playing one route while the next one is downloading.)

 

It's up to 9% so i'll just wait it out. Thanks again for your help!

Yes I know that. The problem is it's downloading and updating as it goes without differentiating what it's working on. so stopping it now might end up borking the whole thing and going back to square one. No I'll just be happy in Snowrunner, as I said.

But they need to sort out this nonsense for TSW5 when most of us will be looking at a 200Gb+ download.

 

It won't bork up anything. Steam lets you decide what to download.

 

Wow. I'm looking at about 90 minutes total.

 

I paused my download for a couple of seconds then resumed it. My download speed has more than doubled. Only 36 minutes to wait now.

 

So only ones that appear to not have transferred over are

NEC: New York - Trenton
BR Class 31
BR Class 33
BR Class 52

Anybody had similar ones missing?

 

Big chunk of DLC still missing even after restarting Steam.

 

The Class 31 and 33 have transferred over for me...but NYT is missing

-edit- and now NYT is there, all my DLC is now showing. You may just need to restart Steam a few times

 

Question: given that the download is so huge, does this mean that my old installs of TSW2 and TWS3 can be deleted? Just conscious of HD space.

Yes, if you've activated your old TSW3 profile in TSW4 you can delete TSW 2 & 3. I'd wait until you see if all your DLC's have been installed in 4 first though. If you're using a PC, you can always transfer TSW 2 & 3 to another drive using the transfer service in the Steam "Storage" settings (see screenshot). I did this last week and had no problems with the transfer. Everything still works after transferring TSW3 & 4 from my C: drive to my D: drive. The Steam programme I left on my C: drive as this is advised by Steam.

For me NYT took longer than all the rest to show up. You may just need to keep restarting Steam until it appears

 

Everything is showing up and downloaded now 22:15

 

Yeah I'm missing the 31 & 20 still trying to figure out what else is missing
