I'd agree that the monthly masteries are an interesting idea if the end prize was something more useful than a pathetic decal that the majority of people won't even use. The decal and the fact that January's distance didn't track for me after 80 miles has put me off wasting the time to do them.
Are you kidding? Because the 1000 mile (1600 km) mission worked so well in February that my counter stopped at 37 km.
Did you out a ticket in to tell them they would have sorted im sure a few others had that problem and got in sorted
Was about to say, I submitted a ticket and the issue got fixed. And the point is, it could bug out on any of the objectives, not just mileage.
Btw I submitted a ticket too, I've got answer, and somehow i got the mastery tier, but the bug was not fixed.
The counter does still work in the background, and you can complete the mastery. It's just not visible. I completed my XP counter, only for it to reset to zero later. Still got the reward.
I have just managed to round off the scenarios task for the month which got a bit monotonous if I'm honest. Although upon completely the HST scenario, hitting a top speed of 101mph and cruising at 90mph for the rest it didn't seem to register upon multiple loads. Although my attempt last week in a timetable service did register which was strange as it says either scenario or timetable Then I lost my progress towards the 100k actions points which is now frozen around 21k. Have submitted a ticket but it's a frustrating one as otherwise I'd be done if not very close to complete
I had to submit a ticket as well, as the 100k XP wasn't updating. Second month running that the mastery wasn't updating in one aspect. Both times they fixed within 48 hours, frustrating to have to do it but it does get sorted with a ticket.
I do love a good April Fools. Presumably these translate to walk 8km, drive 320km, do 15 timetables/services and pick up 15 collectables. Seems easy enough.
I did see yesterday that my broken 100k XP counter for March was fixed, along with other broken counters in route masteries. I did get completion in all those cases, only the progress bar was only half full (which was not a big deal, just annoying). So maybe they did a general fix somewhere.
Collectibles again? That’s a bit of a PITA particularly if you’ve exhausted some of the routes already. Guess I’ll be getting out the cab at the Dutch stations, see what I can do.
I'll still got some routes to finish off, and some to start. Annoying thing is, just yesterday I collected all the Bakerloo ones.
Yes already grabbed a couple. The rest isn’t really that challenging. Distance is taken care of by a full length run on Dutch, ECML and one or two others. 15 timetable runs can be ticked off with a few ECS moves. And the walking most of that will be accomplished grabbing the collectibles.
Usually the case for any route older than TSW3. the new fast travel function is really useful for that. for the older route I made a small inspecion train to run slowly over the route to fix do not trespass signs on tunnels and crossings for example. just an E-lok or diesellok with a passenger coach and some flat wagons.
Can see this being done by the weekend. If the point of the mastery is to keep you hooked playing the game, this month’s ain’t going to work!
Will probably divide my time, as I currently have the Azov and large water tanker trailer wedged in a gully in Austria on Snowrunner. Scratching my head how to get it out without unhooking and recovering the truck, given the Austrian map takes ages to get anywhere. (Sorry for OT ramble).
Not that I'm a big fan of the side game, but wondered if walking during Guard/Conductor mode counts towards the total distance covered?
Was it the old 4 up challenges where we found out that walking up and down a train in motion didn't actually count as walking distance? At least when JD was supposed to be driving it at least Wonder if it's changed for Conductor mode!
Did anyone else notice that the counters get stuck (as before) but they are regularly restored to the right amount? Normally this would only happen if you submitted a ticket and the counters would he reset. But it seems that this is now standard (looks like a few times per day). Good.
Just a heads up, aside from other issues related to conductor/guard mode which I’ve flagged in the feedback thread, it appears completing a Timetable service in Guard mode does not count towards the Mastery total. Sorry for ping DTG Alex but can you confirm whether or not this is the case or an unintentional bug, please?
Ah, I see the one I was missing. I didn't know you could open the doors! I also never realized you could climb some ladders. Thanks!
Got the Monthly done yesterday with a bit of artificial walking. Must say that objective seemed a bit pointless to me, for future IMHO the requirements should be linked to something with a purpose rather than the abstract.
Complete 15 conductor mode timetables... Meh. I will have to go out of my way this month to complete that one. Let's find some short ones we can spam.
Actually you can probably blame me for that one, didn’t I say earlier in the thread that Conductor mode would be an interesting alternative than hunting down broken notice boards! I shall go and stand in the naughty corner…
I will. Save me checking, what are the other objectives bearing in mind I need to tie this in with enjoying the new SimRail route extension?
True. Anyhow found the rest of the objectives… Complete 5 timetables exceeding 100 MPH. WCMLS here I come… Drive 400 miles… Complete 5 scenarios. Good old SoS free roam to the rescue again.
The Conductor Mode one will be a challenge, I rarely use it. Guess that means I'll be doing a lot of short runs. Then again, could always do a few long non-stop runs that don't require checking tickets. Leaves me free to do other non-TSW stuff as well, a win-win. The 5 timetables and 400 miles will be easy. A few long routes that make this achievable. As for the scenarios, good job I've talked myself into completing the Journey mode lately. Never do scenarios outside of that.
