The image is not as good-looking as the Simulated Train World and Railway Simulator

If you click through the actual youtube page, and click 'show more' in the description, it has the list of platforms it is due to release on.

    From the youtube discription:
And looking like this sim is gonna just be only having German equipments in Europe (except for seeing a US GE loco they slipped in the video). So that's a nope for me (since from the steam store is in early access).

One to keep an eye on, especially as it is on the consoles. I’m not a big fan of games though, and having to build up a business doesn’t appeal to me as a way to play, I just want to drive trains. It all depends on what the gameplay is actually like as to whether I will try it out. The direction of competitors may influence the direction of TSW too. It’s certainly an interesting time for ‘train games’ with simulation at their core. They are popping up everywhere now.

I'll just stick to TSW. To me it looks like a transport fever game on medium graphics, especially with the 'ICE' seemingly sticking out. The HUD is also a bit distracting, I probably looked at it more than the rest of the trailer when it showed up. Plus German stuff isn't really my preference. Maybe I'll wait for a sale :D

It looks to be a variant of a railway tycoon game, not a realistic train driving simulation (did you see some of those track curves?). Certainly interesting for those interested in this genre of game, but it looks leagues behind TSW from the driving aspect.

    Cheers

This seems to be a bit on the arcade-y side of the spectrum, not so much a simulator.

The management aspect of it all intrigues me. It reminds me of Euro Truck Simulator, but with trains.

At the game / simulator I once asked what the future should bring. So far nothing has happened. I like to support new EA games, but if you don't even have plans for the future, I find it difficult. I will definitely wait there.
And I don't see enough in Discord and / or on the Steam / Epic page

Hmm... ICE running on the left track, signals that don't look specific to any country, shunter locos speeding through stations, and road signs that really don't look like they belong to a railroad... that's what I've seen in the trailer.

So far, looks more like it's closer to Derail Valley than any kind of railroad simulator.

With the problems we have to put up with, while playing tsw2 i don't think i'm gonna nitpick other train sim games that aren't perfect either.I'm just greatfull to finally have other options, for better or worse.

This will go the way of Sim Rail. He will never see the light and if he does, a mediocre product will come out. Simply because it will have too many features, all implemented superficially. Like the trailer, where we see an ICE 4 with the sounds of an American train.

I regret the games of the past.

Am I wrong in thinking this is a sort of Train-based Euro Truck? The route seems like a scale version of europe and the grow your company thing is also ETS-like, I don't think I'll buy it, and I think they are trying to capture a different niche, but every bit of healthy competition always favours the consumer, so hopefully they'll deliver a good game :).

I'm sure it's not aimed at this crowd of people that complain heavily about some wrong headlights and door height, it's more like one of these games that try to capture the general "feel" instead of going in-depth.

It may be ETS-like gameplay-ish, but I don't think it'll come even near the quality of ETS2. I have never seen a game within that genre even coming close to the quality of ETS2 (with the exception of ATS by the same studio).

There's nothing wrong with a little healthy competition, but with only German routes, I will likely give this a miss.

It's possible there will be more countries as well, given that this is going to be an early access version.

I'll wait for this to release and then see. With 10000 kilometers, they are bound to be pretty generic.

The "management" part is a fresh take.

I have done a bit of research on Train Life: A Railway Simulator here is what I have found out:

Train Life: A Railway Simulator will be developed by Simteract and published by Nacon. As others have said that it will be released on PC and on all consoles including the Nintendo Switch.

Simteract is a game developer use to be a software developer based in Poland when they was a software house in 2014 they specialized in training simulations. They have created professional simulators like train driver simulator for US trainees. In 2018 there main focus is creating games. They employ specialists with gaming experience and the team is 50 people. They also say "Everywhere possible we are taking advantage of our technological roots – professional simulators."

The programming they use is C ++ and Rust and effects of there work in 3D they combine with Hudini Engine intergrated with Unreal Engine 4. "Our original techs allow us to create premium simulation games not only faster, but also cheaper than other studios."

Sources or to read for yourselves:
    Simteract
    About us – Simteract
Train Life: A Railway Simulator – Simteract

Nacon - Are a French game publishing house for numerous game developers. For example: WRC 9

    Thanks

DTG has repeatedly stated that most cities in the game are manually placed. How do you feel that the urban landscape of TS is better than that of TSW?
