I can't check the exact paths in the Windows registry right now, but if you ever used a freetrack/trackir, you need to delete or rename a single registry key, where there is stored the path to the trackir exectuable file from HKEY_CURRENT_USER. This key will be recreated the next time you will launch the freetrack/trackir software, so don't worry about deleting it. EDIT: I guess it's this registry key to delete: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\NaturalPoint\NATURALPOINT
I have this too and I have never used headtracking. You don't have to reboot the PC, you can Alt-Tab out of the game and shut it down via Task Manager.
