Alright, drama everywhere, but it’s clear you don’t know much about ETCS and that really shows in your own story.

You say that ETCS Level 1 is easier to implement, but that’s exactly the problem it’s barely used, especially in the European countries that appear in TSW. Germany practically doesn’t use Level 1 at all, and as you yourself wrote, Level 2 and 3 are more complex.

The story about ETCS in TSW has also been confirmed by Matt. And besides that, there is still so much to choose from besides ETCS routes.

I think it’s a shame that you see it as an insult to the community those are pretty big words, and let me be clear: that is not my intention. TSW is a casual game, not a flight simulator, so new players are welcome and can get into it easily. I don’t think things like ETCS really help with accessibility. You’re free to have a different opinion, that’s fine, but calling it an insult to the community feels a bit far‑fetched.
And we haven’t even talked about what ETCS demands in terms of processing power and what the impact on consoles would be.

Amsterdam to Brussels Eurostar would be quite cool. They do a crew change at Brussels and the Dutch team drive it to Amsterdam so it would technically be a full route.

And what did I say that was incorrect about ETCS ? Even in your rebuttal you stated the same as I did, Level 1 is an overlay of existing infrastructure, Level 2 and 3 much more complex to implement. I didn’t make any comment to implementation levels.

I do find some of your comments come across as a bit overbearing as commented by several others so the drama might be self-induced by the wording of your responses.

Hopefully, it is not your intention to come across to so many thusly,

Now to bring this back on topic, I too agree that having the Eurostar would not be a desirable route for many, especially the run through the Chunnel and the over all time commitment for a logical end to end run. While the implementation of level 3 moving blocks would be a challenge, it isn’t impossible and learning the system from a drivers perspective isn’t beyond the capabilities of most users.

Ok I've looked it up. Simrail has ETCS implemented on one route up to level 2. 1 of the locos and the pendolino can use it.
So it should def be doable, if wanted, in a reasonable manner - even on console, since it's on consoles now, too. :)

Comparing SimRail with TSW isn’t reasonable. The biggest difference is that SimRail uses a different engine, which allows for completely different things, and TSW also has a much larger amount of content. And with the current issues on consoles, it’s unlikely that DTG will implement that it would also cost a significant amount of ram usage.

ETCS Level 2 is not used 100% on any end-to-end eurostar route currently. Parts of the Dutch HSL zuid and near the border uses it. However, an ICNG route rather than Eurostar would most likely take priority if that area was implemented in game.

Most people were talking about a possible Eurostar loco DLC or the Channel tunnel. Why was ETCS even brought up here lol?

    Good afternoon folks,

I'm going to close this thread while we review some of the messages, since we've seen a number of reports from Emmy_MAN and jesper2805 in here and across the forums.
As a reminder, bickering and quarrelsome behaviour has no place in our forums. If you can't communicate in a respectful and civil tone I would recommend you make use of the ignore function. Further behaviour like this might result in restricted access.

I will re-open this thread once we've been through the messages.

    All the best,
    Jan
