Did we get any mention of total distance for this route? I missed the live stream.
The Acela needs to be able to stretch her legs.

This is probably not a day one purchase. Definitely a route I’ll pick up in the sale at some point, but it does look highly detailed and a lot of effort has gone into it. US fans will be happy.

NY-Penn Station/Grand Central Terminal to Stamford is approximately 34-36 track miles so that is definitely a plus, as the Harlem Line from GCT to North White Plains was just shy of 25 miles. The fastest the Acela will be able to operate is the stretch between Co-op City, after the bridge that occurs around Pelham Bay, as well as the stretch of track between New Rochelle and Mamaroneck.

For those asking about freight. There were additional screenshots in the stream. Screenshot_20260309_220324_YouTube.png

This is going to be an epic route. I definitely can't wait to see Grand Central Terminal. I wonder if there are any updates to the existing stock, (M3A, M7A, ACS-64, and Acela)?

I feel like I ask this in every route related thread where the Acela plays a role, but is there ever any intention to fix the broken tractive effort in cruise control on the Acela that has been broken since launch day years ago?

I just watched the stream and Sand Patch Grade was not mentioned. It must stand to reason that the SD40 is included with this route because you would need it anyway to drive the trash car services, and clearly the trash cars are new with this route. It would certainly seem that HAR, LIRR2, and MNT would be required if we are getting these as AI/short playable services. And of course Acela. One question would be if any freight routes are needed for further layering. The UP boxcar in one of the pictures clearly did not come from SPG. The other big question I have is if the ACS64 is getting suspension, which of course could then be used on BPE and NYT.

The route is still looking rather sterile at this point and I suppose that's what we'll get. In reality a lot of this route is so dirty and cluttered with graffiti everywhere. But I could probably give that a pass if the timetable really sticks. Guess we'll find out in a week. The last great US passenger route?

I definitely am curious what is going to happen with future northeast passenger routes?

It's a great question but I would be shocked if anything besides the ACS64 gets suspension. The M3A, M7A, M7, M9 and Acela probably won't even appear if you don't have the right DLC installed. Incidentally I don't think they're giving any legacy add-ins such as the ACS64 or SD40 suspension either, and I only really expect it with the M8. But I wouldn't be completely surprised if the ACS64 does get suspension; it just seems like something that could have been mentioned already if it were happening. We'll see.

Apparently, the SD40 is from Sand Patch, just refitted to the standard specs from BNSF/TTC. Plus, the trash containers ain't as new since they were first made from NEC: NY, so expecting they'll just be up to date as well. As for the rest of the freight cars, not sure what's required, but expecting that it'll require a decent amount of dlcs to make that part of the route to be more lively at Oak Point.

I think with the trash cars now in the game the last real possibility is that we get the Hudson Line at some point with the long, long, long, long, long awaited P32. Even without Brandon I think there is enough institutional knowledge now to get this done, and the timetable is not really bonkers anyway especially north of Croton (assuming the line in TSW doesn't just stop at Croton anyway). Besides that most of the remaining branch lines of the MBTA, LIRR and NJT don't really seem to have enough to stand by themselves as DLC, and we know there are license issues elsewhere. So, I would say that hopefully Stamford is good because that might be it for awhile. But hey, Antelope Valley is a thing, so I suppose anything is possible.

MAX1319 Can you confirm if this very old and decrepit building that sits over the tracks is there? It wasn't in the TSW 2020 version and it's omission was very noticeable.

I definitely agree. DTG can definitely utilize what they have learned from Cactusjuice's signalling guides along with reference material that they have from past editions of routes for future routes

I know for sure, that derelict building is still there between Westchester Avenue and the Sheridan Expressway. That is the former Westchester avenue station, once part of the former New York, Westchester and Boston Railway. Alot of work has been done around the area over the years, modernizing the highway ramps for the Bruckner interchange and Sheridan expressway. Interestingly, that former station was featured in the Hudson Line and New Haven Line for TSC.

It’s also just north of the new Hunts Point station. I believe there were talks to renovate and update the original Westchester Avenue station(I believe it’s a historical landmark site for the city) due to the 6 train subway being right across the street, but Hunts Point location is a better intersection and still is next to the 6.

You know I can't give any details yet...... I will say this was my local area growing up in the Bronx. The amount of time I've spent on this route surpassed Morristown and LIRR2 :)

I thought anything which shipped with the route would have suspension. Seems a wasted opportunity if not.

I wish stock which layered into newer routes would get suspension too.

The LIRR2 stock was supposed to get suspension if I recall.

https://www.youtube.com/live/Ao-FIQwecqo?si=4udbppqIVvbj2MVr&t=1862 Matt mentioned yesterday about Stamford Freight here. Basically, bottom line good out of the box freight on Stamford, no other dlc's are required. part of optimization- means you don't need to depend on multiple packs to get the cars in. :) more information to follow when the article comes out

This is a known issue. It has been fixed on dev but it needs to get a slot for release. I will get confirmation if it will make it to post release update.

Watched the Amtrak cab ride that was posted on here earlier. I love it. Definitely one of the scenic NY routes. And it’s even more amazing we can depart from both NY Penn or Grand Central. Not just one which is really good.

Will the SD40-2 receive safety systems or is there no work planned in this direction?

I hope they optimize well those M8's.
I have two flashbacks at once:
The first is from the TSC, when every M8 reduced fps by half.
The second is Hoboken, when we get 20 fps during daytime layover, while the empty station gives 70 fps.

I give DTG some flak but it's encouraging to me that they seem to be moving in the direction of incorporating more of the older content into the core package.

My personal opinion is everything pre-TSW3 should be "core-ified".

I know some long-term players will complain about paid content being devalued, but as someone who's purchased just about everything (and usually at full-price; yes i need help lol) i'm ok with it because frankly it will be really good for the game overall and future development of TSW.

Anything that will simplify the spaghetti code that is TSW and its myriad dependent DLC gets a thumbs up from me!
