Indeed fixed. HALELUJAH. Thought I was dreaming when I saw this in the patch notes... Thank you, devs, it's been a long time coming!
yup no one was happier than me. finally after a few tries to report back to the devs that it was fixed felt really nice. had to be sure and tested it over and over on PC and Xbox
Yeah, there's still a laundry list of problems, but they pale in comparison to the alerter issue. That one was a real route breaker. Just did a 6-hour stint in Timetable mode hopping between trains. Never came across one that was beeping. Glad it's finally resolved.
OK. One of the main killer is fixed. Now let's fix signaling. First run after update and I get 20 in cab on a clear signal near Newark and 45 on a clear signal near Linden. Screw this, will wait another 2 years.
Agreed, signaling is definitely a must and if we can get some updates to the water or rivers between NY and Newark, as well as maybe some scenery updates, we'll have a pretty solid US route. We also need the NYC skyline included
For what? It's 110 track speed and the signal is clear like many signals before and after it. I can't imagine how there could be a sudden 45 for no reason IRL.
I also wonder why clear in cab signal is 45 around that area while track speed is 110 and there is nothing ahead for a good distance, unless the signal should read approach limited?
It has been established that the cab signals are broken in that they are reflecting information from much too far away. That is why they do not agree with the lineside signals, which are generally more correct. My guess is that a 45 mph cab signal heading south around Linden could be for switching to Track 4 from Track 2 in order to make a station stop at Metropark. It might not even be your train making a stop but the one ahead of you. Fixing the alerters was a step in the right direction, but without fixing the cab signals I don't advise playing with ATC on.
So far playing with ATC and ACSES enabled, I arrive to Trenton roughly 2 minutes behind schedule if it's a Northeast Regional or Acela service
The biggest issue with signaling I've run into is when I'm going eastbound, I get slowed down to 45 right after New Brunswick and have to stay at that speed for several miles. Then right before Metropark, I switch tracks, and by that point I'm already 2 to 3 minutes late. That slowdown really shouldn't be happening that far back.
The S curves at Elizabeth are slower and that was a failsafe before ACSES existed to make sure trains slowed down before those curves.
No, it's not that place. It's after that curve. Almost at Linden platform. And visually the signal was clear(vertical line). The next signal was clear too and it was 110. Palmetto 89 service, if it's important.
something that was previously capture and internal jira ticket assigned.this issue currently is not on PC dev but It made it out. I checked and is on Xbox X and Epic so I'm sure it's on all public release versions. just flagged the team. thank for bringing this up
Returning to the signaling topic. Approach Medium(only in cab) from New Brunswick. Yeah, why not, there more than 7 miles before turnout to Metropark platform. It's about time. When are you going to fix at least something in Acela? There's silence in cab, nothing to hear, except... FREACKING AI TRAINS. Which will tear your ears apart. Why should soundproofing muffle all sounds from the player's train, but not muffle any sounds from other trains? Opening side windows will only slightly increase the blowers sound volume, and that's it, nothing more.
Train X377 go through wall at NYP. Cab lights in NJT cabcar looks like supernova. Sometimes speedometer does not update when switching the cameras and shows 0 for a long time. Truly masterpiece.
This one still gets me like a jumpscare every damn time when I see the concrete emerging through the wall into the cab.
What's wrong with ALP-46 signaling? The green bar on speedometer shows 100, ADU shows green, but the speed numbers are blinking red and something is beeping. What do it want from me? Reducing speed? Up to what? Yeah, it's freakin broken. The green bar on speedometer shows 130 on 80 MPH section. ADU shows red on a clear signal near Newark. Also there is no rain drops. I really want to express everything I think about the creators of this route, especially about those who gave the "we are ready for release" commad to this LOVE and about those who decided that this LOVE doesn't need any proper support after release despite it deplorable state. But you already know that. Do you? How many times have you fixed this door in your patch notes?
Yeah, even with the lightning HEAVILY modified to tone it down on my install, there are some times of day I just don't run any services. Alas, a core issue, not just isolated to routes like this with lots of concrete. Same effect happens to the grassy fields of WSR too, with details of ground textures such as grass only temporarily becoming discernable through the eleventy billion nits of brightness for precisely as long as I am staring directly into the sun, the eye adaptation washing everything else out in a permanent sea of white the second I look away from the orb, like this is Snowpiercer or something... I remain convinced that DTG mistakenly have the game set to output visuals calibrated to the HDR colour gamut, even on SDR displays.
If anyone is going to fix this route, please don't forget about the Metroliner cab. I don't know if it's an eye adaptation bug, or the windshield glass material itself, but the world is extremely white from the cab. All colors are washed and everything is glowing like cheap bloom effect from the 00's games. And it become much worse if you lower the camera so that the speedometer fits into the frame. So looks like an eye adaptation to me.
What is happens with FPS at Trenton when your train are arriving to the station? In some services it's around 70, in some it's around 30. No other trains at the station and I can't see any dependencies from time of day, weather, etc.
The curse of LIRR has reached NYT. X885 says: 1. NYP - Jersey Avenue 2. 5 minutes 3. Trenton - NYP. All 3 paragraphs contradict each other, however, all 3 are in the description of one train.
