You got that right. Mostly straight single track, expressway median ROW with limited AI and no freight component. Really Metrolink Part 2.

I have a feeling Tadami and San Bernadino will be one of the last TSW4 routes if we are getting TSW5

Considering we haven't seen a single screenshot of San Bernadino yet, I think it's plausible that it could be a core route for TSW 5

If TSW5 is really a thing, then I wonder how this will go on in the future - imagine "Train Sim World 13" in 2032 - that sounds terrible to me when the number just increases 1 each year:|
The clues seem to be similar to last year´s...

Those are starter routes for TSW5, also with working suspension and TOD5.

  6. could it be that tram simulator they announced a while back?

Imagine a situation where a bulletpoint for TSW4 just ends up becoming a bulletpoint for TSW5, crazy times.

Cool, I think improvements to the dynamic weather should be made if the Time of Day system gets upgraded.

I feel like a lot of people (including myself) bought TSW4 early only because of the Vectron and how already its preview showed that it is a big leap in the loco quality from the previous models. They would have to pull up a similarly large deal if they want to get people hyped again. Because TSW4 was discounted to what, like €5 two months after release?

If we get a new version of TSW, I just hope it doesn't introduce game breaking bugs to the older routes, it would be great if all preseverved content including pre TSW4 routes, get enhancements and extensions, bringing the quality of those routes on par to TSW5 standards. If that happens and most of the bugs including red signals, stuttering, camera views from the cab, and dynamic weather get resolved, I think we will have a solid simulator

I'm not gonna front like i'm not gonna buy TSW5.

I just hope it has some meaningful improvements:
    Suspension system
    Dispatcher improvements
    Audio and lighting improvements

And that the included routes are good- SBD isn't exciting me so far tbh

I own TSW4 since I got it as part of the most recent Humble Bundle. I never bothered installing it, and I expect it'll be the same case for when the inevitable TSW5 Humble Bundle comes around. I don't respect TSW as a simulator, but as a companion piece to Train Simulator I'm happy with TSW3. I really can't be bothered to reinstall all of my DLC, redownload the TSW4/5/6 versions of the mods I have, find replacements for the ones that haven't been updated, and set up my settings and launch options again. It's bad enough creating alternate installations of TS, but it's far less of a pain than updating TSW every year.

I will likely buy TSW5 at some point whenever it comes. But unless there is a German or UK route that I really must have, then I’m going to wait for the inevitable Humble Bundle. I have more than I’ll ever play already and spend most of my time in TSC anyway. It won’t be that hard to wait. That has 2 benefits- Much cheaper and I can pay in UK Pounds instead of Steams ridiculous exchange rate. Failing that it’ll show up on a key selling site eventually. Not going to pay full price for any more iterations.

No point getting annoyed about it, just need to wait for the optimum way to purchase.

If TSW5 does happen, I feel like DTG are just gonna do the exact same thing that they’ve done every year…

    overpromise features.
    Not fix bugs.
Focus on new things instead of old

it feels like a tradition that they do.

What I think would just be the best for this game. Is naming it TSW2025, and doing yearly core updates and upping the year, with updated core routes. Like TSC

Highly unlike a relatively specialised route by a third party i.e. Tadami would be a centrepiece for TSW5. They are going to be DTG routes.

Assuming SBD the USA route chances are we will get two fairly modern electrified routes for the UK and Germany. Or they may have taken an existing route and extended it, as happened with SEHS in TSW3.

As i said before in this thread, its really sad Tsw 5 most likely wont fix any existing bugs, but the sentence "DTG only wants to make money" isnt true as i believe. Yes Dtg wants to make profit like every other company in the world, but they are also doing many many things for the community.

Every Tsw was better than the one before and everyone brought us new features (even if they were small).
Also i think a new Tsw is a good offer for 3 new routes, a base game, new features and stuff like this. They even offered Tsw 4 in different packs for people that only want german content etc. for a much lower price.

Maybe its a bit weird to say but, no one forces you to buy anything and if you want a route dlc with Tsw5 features its common sense for me that you have to own the basegame for it and not expect it will be compatible to the older game.
Dtg even does that, as Maintalbahn is Tsw3 compatible as far as i remember.

Also i think the Tsw5 core routes arent going to be the ones on the roadmap.

It’s really sad people take a piece of code from a screenshot and automatically assume it’s TSW 5 when nothing has been confirmed ANYWHERE

Okay im not a fan of bashing a game developer but if it will be a TSW5 its unfair to make it a paid update... There is 1 large reason for this.... Other years it was fine with nice new routes and base game upgrades and for me personally its not a big deal to paid for a new TSW version and the amount of money is very low if you compare with regular DLC prices BUT here it comes: the biggest fail for this TSW4 version is the missing suspension update... We nearly hit a year and it isnt out... Thats a shame and its not fair to ask then for a new paid update. This is more a warning to DTG and think about the option to deal with this and give it a fair response to the issues that is caused by the DTG and not by the user.

This is not a wild speculation but more an expecting result of earlier years. And as a result we have to pay! Normal company that can not live without a cashflow right?!

50% of myself still believe it wont be tsw 5 but the same code and placeholder stuff happened before with Tsw4.
I hope its not Tsw5, but if it is i wouldnt be sad either.
Also Myron is not posting fake stuff (dont let me down here Myron), so i think the possibility is there.

Whats the point here? If its not a TSW5 but a gameplay pack thats paid as well make that any difference in your concerns?

Yes it would, a gameplay pack would most likely prove that Tsw 4 would continue being updated.
Also i wouldnt buy the full pack but only the german route of it, like rush hour Dresden back then.

or what concerns are you talking about exactly? That i hope its not Tsw 5?

Yeah whats the point if it a 5 instead of a 4 as number?! The game will be extended in both numbers.....

I have a feeling in the next iteration of TSW, we'll see some form of GE Genesis locomotive

At this point i hope they rename Tsw 4 to Tsw 2024 and then start doing it like they do it with TSC. This would be the best way imo, but i think there is a new discussion for this idea.

So how do TS manage to do it and repeatedly as well, obviously selling plenty. Trainz as well. Something weird about TSW customers.

Not really if you have an interest in trains you fit the genre. Hardly a didference in target audience.

Not everyone with an interest in trains is interested in everything about them though. So there's still different audiences.

97 people say yes, people are thinking otherwise.

Not saying TSW5 is going to absolutely happen, but
What about the TSW4 threads that happened, that, surprise, surprise. Turned out to be true?

history may be repeating itself here.

Something will definitely happen one way or another.
    And so every year.
Where would the originality of the story be?
The only real disruption could be a new game that has nothing to do with TSW.
    Not a sequel I mean.
And who can say but time?
September is less than two months away.
    So not too long.

Yeah, maybe, but maybe not...a free slot that appeared on Epic Games, but not on Steam, while City Transport Simulator:Tram is already availlable on Steam in Early Access, and CTS:Tram isn't available on Epic, but is build with...tata...Unreal Engine...? I mean, being the publisher of it and not using all possible connections for a game built with Epic's Unreal Engine? Might be questionable...

People can think all they want I could think of the lottery numbers for Saturday night don’t mean it’s true.
Until we see something office from DTG saying. TsW 5 is even coming then nothing said NOR voted in a poll that means nothing is actually true.

Well that to me makes this look like a roundabout with all but one exit blocked. Unless someone can think of another alternative, this exit looks to be the only way to get off this magic roundabout of speculation. Then we get to the mini roundabouts of speculating the routes and features.

i will honestly be surprised if we dont see the Met line in the sim in the future. It is one that they would get alot of attention for as it caters to both metro style enthusiasts as well as suburban commuter routes.

Lots of potential for additional DLC expansions from it too, Chiltern Mainline, Piccadilly Line, would be great

That post no longer makes sense, it has no context.

But let's not forget your post on page 1 of this thread:
    Isn't speculation/discussion the point of the internet/forums?

Yup well the small part of the pic anyway from Rayners to Uxbridge. The met would be a good choice with it shuttle train and fast, semi fast and all stations services with the many branches.
