New German Loco - Speculation Thread

I can see an alternative paint for the Train the original Deutsche Reichsbahn Baureihe 130-132 142 paints. Another multi-voltage electric locomotive that can accompany this and still fit the code K multi voltage train is Deutsche Reichsbahn Baureihe 230 DB BR180 for Nahverkehr Dresden

Are you ready to here what route that this German Loco Add-On might possibly be for?

In todays update, a route that is numbered 1998950 in the steamdb was updated, despite it having no patch notes. It has a pretty large download size of 6.32 GiB, and that route in question is non-other than Nahverkehr Dresden (- Riesa). Maybe it's just speculation right now, but I have seen this route updated quite a few times in the past couple of weeks on the steamdb, hinting that this is possibly the route getting that German Loco Add-On.

In the end, I'm really curious to see, if it is for this route, what it actually gets, and if the route itself receives all the TSW3 upgrades aswell (Lightning, Skies, etc), just like what Boston-Providence & Sherman Hill got when they had their respective add-ons.

If it is for Dresden - Riesa, i think the vectron makes the most sense, or perhaps the BR 189 as both locos can be seen in the area a lot due to the large amounts of cross border freight traffic to the Czech Republic.

 

Or maybe finally the ICE-T? But I doubt that would fit the code tho

 

Just want to come and say...

It's definitely for Nahverkehr Dresden (-Riesa). Why? Well if you click on the route now post update from the route selection menu, you will see that the number of services under the timetable section has gone up from 461 to 477, and I get the feeling that those new services don't exist yet.

So now that's settled, the only question that now remains is, what the loco in question? Well for now, I get the feeling it's going to be something freight related, but let's wait and see on that.

 

So since there are more services I guess there will also be a new type of wagon if it’s freight.
My three guesses are:

Br189 with a new freight wagon

Br193 with Czech EC wagons for the EC services

ICE-T

The longer I think about, the more I think it’s the second one; because the Vectron could be used for EC and freight services

 

While I'd love to see an ICE-T, a Vectron would be welcome as well. What I don't understand though: Why does DTG not make multiple liveries for their locos (or sell them as DLC) when they have the appropriate licenses? The Vectron would have a gazillion of possibilities there, so does the DB 185 or even the recently released 110s and the n-Wagens - I'd love a proper oceanblue-beige 110 and silberling n-Wagens, among others.

 

As nice as the train itself would be, it wouldn't make sense timetable-wise. The EuroCities leave the modeled route at a junction near Großenhain without stopping. If we get a Vectron (which I do think is extremely likely) it's going to be on freight trains. I'm hoping for a Captrain, Metrans, ČD Cargo, or another cool non-DB livery, personally.

 

Probably because making a high quality livery takes time. It's not something that can just be painted on. If it was that easy, then there would be more liveries but there isn't.

 

Depends on the exact year the timetable is set in. There was an EC from Praha h.l. to Leipzig Hbf via Dresden Hbf. This service was cancelled in 2019. EC 258/259.

I found them running until 2019. Until 2017 they were headed by ČD 371, since 2018 with ČD 193 (Vectron).
These were stopping in Dresden Hbf and Riesa, earlier also in Dresden-Neustadt.
Last consist I could find was this one:

But if DTG is doing a Vectron, I think it's going to be in DB or some private livery, not the Czech one.
Same for the coaches, I would expect the same set that comes with the DB 101.

first of all that and secondly if there are only two services, then why are there 11 new ones?

 

If I had a wish, it would be a Vectron monster package with different liveries (like the "fallen flags") including DB, CD, and maybe 1 or 2 private freight loco operators. Plus IC coaches in CD livery.

Not gonna happen, but would be amazing for DRA and other routes where the DB and private Vectrons could sub in.

 

Good point about the number of services, the rest could be freight.

Fair enough. In fact, this train now exists again as EC 458/459, and conveys couchette and sleeping cars to Zurich. Still, if DTG are making a Vectron, are they going to make a passenger livery (and all-new coaches!) that can run two (2) 40 minute passenger services and isn't used on any other route, or are they going to make a freight one that can be used on literally every modern-day German route in their portfolio?

 

My opinion to; and then as a loco pack like the fallen flags one the complete “I am” series

 

They could do both even if they didn't have the right coaches for the passenger services. That is a Joe kind of job since he loves to add in all sorts of services. But if they had to choose, I would prefer it subbing into freight

 

The loco-DLC is for KWG, and seems to add a layer to DRA according to game files.

There are files for a layer for a KWG Vectron.

But I do wonder, if open waggons like Eanos are allowed on a Schnellfahrstrecke.
Maybe they wanted to do it first for KWG but changed their minds?
Time will tell.

A pity, they added new services, but the freight services running backwards still don't seem to be fixed on DRA

 

If true, I love Eanos coming to TSW but would have preferred an MRCE Vectron over an RP Vectron. I think there's no better livery for the Vectron than MRCE-black.

 

Wait so you mean the add-on will be for Kassel-Würzburg, and provide services there (and has it's scenarios there)? And then on DRA it just layers with a few new services?

Also, if you're right, the Eanos waggons sound really interesting, it would be nice to have something like that for Germany.

As for the Vectron being Railpool, does that mean it's one of the ones with a destination display beneath the windscreen? A lot of RP's vectrons have been optioned with this (though they also have ones without), but outside of RP I don't know of any operator having these destination displays, which would hurt repaintability.

Well RP vectron is capable to run both Passenger and Freight trains with PIS

DTG JD Time to announce the railpool vectron?

 

MRCE also has Vectrons with a destination display. They're being used on regional trains between Frankfurt and Fulda currently.

That should not be a problem. What you are allowed to do on what SFS is specified in Ril 402.0202 §5.2, where it is mostly concerned about dangerous goods:

If it is the RP Vectron MS, it should be only used for cargo. Those locos were bought only to operate fright on the european east corridor. As far as I know, they have no Pis and they are not certified to drive in Switzerland either.

Here's a picture of one with PIS in front of a football special. They don't operate passenger trains regularly, but they (both with and without PIS) can certainly do it.
Using a Railpool Vectron and DB InterCity coaches to represent the Prague -- Leipzig (--Zurich) EuroCity would not be 100% prototypical, but it would be reasonably plausible and a nice bonus for a freight-focused loco DLC.
Anyway, it's not like the ELL Vectrons that Czech Railways use can go to Switzerland either. The EuroCity terminates in Leipzig and the through cars to Zurich are attached to the Berlin--Zurich night train.

This was posted in the discord for those who haven't seen it. It seems to confirm the Vectron and Eanos waggons, and the name seems to suggest that they're for KWG

 

Never knew the MS version had the PIS as well. Thanks for the picture. And yes, of course they can do it, however, not planned to do it on a regular basis. Nevertheless, as for the nature of Railpools operations it obviously makes sense to be flexible.

EDIT: I am interested to learn which RP loco has the PIS and which not, as it seems only some of them have it?! Do you have a list or something?

 

"KWG_TF_143+2Dosto_E". What does that mean? Kassel-Würzburg will definitely not get a BR143, could that be a placeholder for another DLC?

 

Maybe AI traffic at Würzburg, Fulda, Kassel, (Burgsinn?).

 

That image is game files of DRA. The 143-consist uses DRA 143 and DRA Dostos. No idea, why it is named that way.

 

Perhaps the Vectron was originally intended for KWG but later put onto DRA instead

 

Or just an Layer maybe to the chemical plant or some empty yards?

 

Eanos-X wagons, finally . Its time for more open freight wagons.

 

Thanks to the diligent code crackers, we once again know in advance. So it's going to be a Railpool Vectron with Eanos wagons. I think the last roadmap was so full that this information was left out on purpose. After all, you still need something for the July roadmap before the big summer release is due. Since this will certainly not be revealed by the next roadmap, there might be the Vectron surprise.

 

And maybe a DB red livery

Good point and for Nahverkehr Dresden you are looking at these names for Siemens Vectron DB/ELL Baureihe 193 CZ 383 and lastly the ÖBB Baureihe 1293.
