The whole line is too big (about 212km) to be fully included but there are definitely some sections that would make amazing inclusion:
-8.5km steep tunnel between Otira and Arthur's Pass (1 in 33 gradient with a change in altitude above sea level of 250m). Includes banker operation that used to be old electric EO class locomotives, these are now done by the DXC class locomotive
-Reefton Saddle 1 in 45 gradient.
    - Four main Viaducts
-Mostly single tracked running so there is lots of passing loops, making even heavy coal trains having to stop and start, making the journey challenging.
-Long straight section leading up to the foot of the Southern Alps before entering the tough mountain gradient.
-A single daily and return sight-seeing passenger train, consisting of the AK class coach cars with large panoramic windows, the AKC cafe car with equally large windows, the AKV generator car that supplies the passenger train with electricity and has an open viewing area where there are no windows, just rails, and the AKL Luggage car.
-The line is made up of nearly exclusively Coal trains hauled by the DXC locomotive. The DXC is a modified DX class loco with coal chutes fitted, hence the C denotation. The DX loco is based on the GE-U26C. The loco produces about 3,250hp and is usually run in pairs of 2.
-The coal trains consist of coal hoppers in the C class wagon. There are variations of this as I know that the C class wagon is not used by mainline operator KiwiRail, but its succesors do fall into the same C class. These coal trains consist of usually 30 wagons, both full and unloaded. Although some experiments were done with 3 -4 DXCs pulling a 60 wagon empty to the mines in the west.

This comes from some first hand experience I have had with the railways.
