Next Kent Route

This not a route suggestion but given your ideas of you want to see after the Medway Valley line route and it merge with Southeastern High speed making me more routes in Kent as they don't get any love in tsw and tsc

Here the resion why it a hard pick between the Chatham Mainline or Southeastern Mainline
For the Chatham Mainline it will link Brighton Mainline with Southeastern High Speed would reuse the bit from Rochester to Faversham and add new bit to Dover via Canterbury East and to Ramsgate and would be nice have another route out London Victoria

For the Southeasten Mainline it would link up Medway Valley line to Southeasten Hight from Tonbridge to Ashford and would give a route of London Bridge and Chaing Cross and don't know it be to much to add the Hasting Line too both great routes and would be nice to finsh of the Kent Cross loop from Faversham to Ashford via Canterbury Deal and Dover only downside both routes join near St Mary Cray long with Hayes Line to at Beckham and Lewisham

What do you think of what routes to have 1st all put a poll out

 

Can we have a none of the above option, please? Kent third rail has been done to death. If we get another Southern Region route it should be on the lines out of Waterloo, preferably set back in BR or NSE days too.

 

I'm minded to counter this with a "First Essex Route" thread.

Essex got 1.5 DLC releases in TSC (the .5 is for Just Trains finishing-off the scenery on the Harwich Branch), meanwhile there were 5 Kent-based DLCs.

Kent are already off to a flying start in TSW with 4 to Essex's none. Though I appreciate DTG were unable to secure a license with some/all of former TOCs in Essex, which couldn't have helped our chances.

 

Surely a "none of the above" option would just be...not engaging with this thread?

In any case, I voted Chatham as I'd like having the option of going via Denmark Hill or Brixton at the London end.

That being said, I would much rather having Charing X and Cannon St in the game, but I would prefer to have that as part of a North Kent Line/Slade Green loop with a 376 included

Has there not only been 2 Kent routes? I'd hardly call that "done to death"

Oh Absolutely a Nice ECMLS, Anglia, or SWT route would be welcome. So much as another section of the Chatham mainline would be. If the BML remaster doesn't happen, I would really like a route for the 700 to get more of a stretch and also an AC opportunity.

 

Easily the SEML for me. While the Chatham line is quite interesting with service variety and the Catford loop; the SEML on the other hand features crossing the Thames for both it's termini, the 10 track approach into London Bridge where you'd race Southern and Thameslink trains into the station, as well as 4-track running to Orpington. There is also a very long 100mph section which is quite rare on the 3rd rail network. Ideally the route would be set in pre-HS1 days where there were regular services that ran non-stop from Tonbridge to Ashford so this section could be made the most of.

 

Would the Chatham mainline not also include those Central London sections. Most of those services go to Charing Cross. Or maybe im mistaken.

 

The point is, Kent already has a significant mileage, there are many parts of the UK that have none.

 

I would like something in Essex or even Ireland.

 

For me it’s also that whilst we may only have 2 focused routes, one of them released twice & the other whilst really good, is built onto the previous. Then there’s the rolling stock which has already had its fill in TSW IMO.

TSW7 really needs to see more traction and new territory. No more IETs, Desiros & Electrostars across the same 2 regions please.

There are 2 paths you can take, one via Beckenham Junction and the other via Denmark Hill. The route would still be great to have but I prefer the Southeastern Main Line which runs into Charing Cross and Cannon Street.

 

Oh right. Interesting. What's the Gravesend Line and Abbey wood lines called so.

 

I agree, we've had way too many variations of the same trains. We need something new and there's plenty of stock from the 70s, 80s and 90s that we have yet to see. I'm not convinced it doesn't sell, as some seem to claim, otherwise JT wouldn't be working on their fourth 80s route for TSW.

 

There have been plenty of suggestions for older rolling stock and I have added to it over the years, but it seems for what its worth, we might as well suggest these new ideas to a random street cat.

 

It is a shame that there seems to be little interest to make electric routes in anything other than post 2017. JT are obviously the exceptions but are they prepared to move away from the North West and sprinkle their back-dated magic on somewhere else in the UK?

Even an early Privatisation DLC could include Mk3 EMUs and slamdoors which would be considerably more interesting than sitting in a Desiro/Electrostar unit in a cramped half cab with a tiny windscreen. Even the 357s and 360s would be an improvement, but I'd personally want something genuinely different on the EMU side.

 

That's the North Kent Line, it runs in parallel with the Bexleyheath and Dartford Loop/Sidcup Lines between SE London and Dartford/Gravesend.

 

Agreed. That’s the only circumstances I would be remotely interested in another Kentish route. BR/NSE with CEPs and VEPs. AP have their resources and sound set that could be called upon.
