Same here, the happy smiling didn't stop and I played like 10 hours yesterday. My face hurts today.

Hello Mike. I would like to ask why these indicators are not working. Mainly the open door indicator.

Hmm...I got instructions their, just wait a bit. Did you have objective markers etc. turned on? I have it normall off, but switched on for this scenario.

Another great thing is that the 628 runs on Linke Rheinstrecke and makes it that much better. Then there is the great changes in how Niddertalbahn looks in the different seasons. Some people above said they can’t stop smiling when driving this route and I was the same driving into the sun in autumn yesterday. Sometimes the new routes I buy don’t replace my favourites to play on but these two are going to be getting the lion’s share of my play for quite some time.

Tip if you’re a perfectionist like me and want the gold star for the journey chapter: Drive around the loop a second time instead of stopping at the last station immediately! Got me comfortably over the gold medal threshold. :D

Oh, I’m going to have to check that out. The amount of explorable areas and easter eggs in this route is incredible, it might take months or years to find all of them.

I made a post to collect all the easter eggs and secrets around the route. Please feel free to check it out and contribute if you’ve found something!

Thanks for checking out the feedback, Maik!
I think you can really notice the positive mood surrounding the DLC here in this thread, everyone is just trying to make the amazing route even better by providing feedback :D

I also took the 628 for a ride along Linke Rheinstrecke and it was nice to give it a good thrash. Mind you I was struggling to get it over 115 km/h and had to keep the throttle on 7 but it was a fun ride.

I am loving this route, and I haven't even driven a train yet. The explorable areas around the line are significantly greater than in other routes.
All I need now is some way to connect the route to my cross trainer and I can exercise by taking a walk along the side of the line...

I originally intended to buy Niddertalbahn and wait for a sale on Linke Rheinstrecke. But, after reading this and other threads, I changed my mind and picked up both. It seems that each increases the gameplay value of the other.

Haven't had a chance to fire up either route yet, but, with a little luck ( and Mrs Crosstie's permission ;) ), I'll be driving both this weekend.

I came up with a cunning plan to get both for the price of one so I didn’t have to wait for a sale. I asked Mrs Stujoy to buy me one for my birthday. She did and that means I am a happy chap. All my other birthday plans had to be cancelled because I got my second bout of Covid but it did give me more time to play Linke R before Niddertalbahn came out. Now with the two combined it is just a great time to be alive.

TSG have lifted the mood of the TSW community somewhat, and they are some of the same people who make the DTG German routes so good too. Great people making other people happy with their excellent work. Now that we have escaped a little from the standard set of red trains and there is the promise of more older stuff to come it’s onwards and upwards with the German content.

    Enjoy your weekend.

Nice! This adds value to both DLCs.

I'm not surprised you struggled to reach 120 km/h, as the 628.2 has a low power-to-weight ratio. This shows how realistic the reproduction is :D Very enjoyable.

Hugging Trees scenario can't be completed. Please note I started it from the last journey chapter.

After loading passengers at Hochst the upper left UI is hidden (not sure why, as I did not do it manually).
You can continue driving the train and the tree will fall on the ground and the emergency brake will be activated.

Then you have to turn the power off using the switch, but the game will not tell you (you can still find out by pressing T and reading the task list).

The game can't detect when you turn the power off using the switch, and you can't continue doing the scenario normally after that because the current task is not updated and you can't do the next.

Echoing my thoughts. I haven't quite taken the plunge on the Rhine route yet and I do have concerns about some of the issues, but it does seem a good combo. Especially as the East Midlands route is a bit of an unknown quantity and Peak Forest seems to be seeing scant information ATM, let alone a prospective release date.

Ah, what the heck - just bought it...

Close to perfect though. :) Amazing job on the route TSG team. The attention to detail in about every inch of the map, can't imagine the time spend on this.

I was hesitant about the Left Rhine Route as well but bought it anyway. It's not the best route by a long way, but I'm enjoying it and the 628 certainly adds to it. Very much enjoying letting the 628 stretch it's legs a bit.

Yes that is the one slight downer of the Nidd. Quick blast up to 55-60 k's, shut off and coast into the next station and there's only one really short stretch with a significant gradient.

Anything more detailed to say? What did we miss or can it be a bug on steam. It looks like an instruction/state is not reported as completed internally. I will give it one more try ...

    EDIT.

I tried again. There is definitely something very wrong with the logic of this scenario. When leaving Höchst, I do not get the net Go Via instruction in the HUD. Then the emergency braking is applied. The last try the train stats spontaneously moving, not sure if I did something wrong. Then you need to change ends. I tried following the instructions, which said nothing about removing the brake key. At the other end the brake key seemed inserted, but I got instructed to insert the brake key. After I removed the brake key at the other end, the remove brake key resulted in inserting the brake key??

Then I got the train moving, but got caught again in in emergency stop. Also note the very low amount of passengers.

So this needs a thorough review into my opinion.

Basically, you approach the red signal after which get emergency braked. Get out the 628 and walk forwards towards the tree, go to the marker, back to the 628 and shut the cab down. However you have to cut out and take out the brake key which the game doesn't tell you to do. The scenario isn't broken in any way. I was able to complete it just fine. You just have to take that brake key out and switch to the other cab

Maybe it is a PC (Steam) only issue?

It's not. I was able to complete the service on steam. The game just doesn't tell you to do the tasks. The video below shows you what you need to do.

Exactly, yes. The instructions for the cab shutdown procedure are incomplete. I removed the reverser (not just setting it to off) and the brake key before heading to the other cab. The scenario seems to utilize a go via point to correctly introduce the whole tree sequence, so I made sure to keep to the timetable and take my time instead of trying to rush things. Don’t remember doing anything special other than that.

This may seem a daft question. But can TSW3 be played now on Steam Deck? I had a steam deck ordered for launch but cancelled as it couldn’t play TSW. If true, I may be about to order one :)

I think I've noticed an error with the PZB indicators on the br 628. When the 500 Hz indicator is lit and you stop, the in cab indicator just shows a solid 85 indication instead of the alternating flashing 70-85 lights indicating restricted mode. The HUD shows that restricted mode is in fact active, this is just not reflected in cab. The only place I've encountered a 500 Hz magnet so far is at Bad Vilbel platform 1, so I guess it is a rather minor issue on this route.

I just find it strange that this same issue keeps cropping up. The br 103 and both versions of the br 110 have the exact same problem and the ICE 1 and 3 from Kassel-Würzburg don't show any restricted mode indications at all.

When you do a Bad Vilbel course towards Stockeim, the small square in the hud does not turn red when you brake. I realized this while doing the scenario of the fallen tree.
And I just did a trip from Bad Vilbel to Stockeim, the same. I'm on PC.
Otherwise excellent course. DTG can take the seed .....

I'm curious, what sort of reputation does the (real life) 628 have in Germany? I am still trying to find anything other than the livery and strange interior trim to like about it.

One slight bit of negative feedback. Just running into Eichen heading towards Stockheim, we once again have a German route (third in a row) where vehicles are not stopping and passing through the lowered barriers in front of the trai.

***DTG/TSG This needs to be rapidly sorted on BBO, West Rhine and now Niddertalbahn***. There seems to be smething fundamentally wrong with the vehicle stoppers not functioning.

Thanks for sharing. I got to the bridge on the way back and then the emergency brake was triggered (I think this is a bug). I could not recover from this. I have seen you were standing a moment; is that the trick? It may be playable in the end, but it has a fair number of issues.

I did the same. After buying this route I went ahead and bought Linke Rheinstrecke. Also very nice and the two complement each other quite well. Tough day on the wallet but worth it.

I’m not normally a huge fan of German content since a lot of the modern stuff seems a bit “samey” but this older content really hits the spot for me.

It can be quite an investment you have to make if you also still need to "upgrade" to TSW3.

Yea, I do not know the answer since I didn't get emergency braked. I struggled with the scenario since there isn't any prompts so I was just sitting there for a while before watching the video.

I've been playing on Steam Deck since July (TSW2 then TSW3) and not had any issues really. I play on high graphic settings locked at 30 fps with no major problems, I'm fairly sure if I spend some time playing around with the settings I'll be able to get more out of it but that's not my strong point. I've set the right touch pad as a mouse and use the back buttons for PZB and it works really well.
TSW aside I'd 100% recommend getting a steam deck, I've recently been playing Forza on it and really enjoyed it, I've even managed to get TS Classic to work but that is quite temperamental.

They’re certainly still going strong and in use on quite a lot of services near my hometown. Posted a picture I took of one in action on the forums a while back. ;)

Third day with the route, and the fun is certainly still getting bigger and bigger. The huge amount of detail and immersion makes every journey a joy. The timetable and huge amount of stations keep me on my toes!

I found out that at least for me the trains driving in the other directions don't have their "Zugschlusslicht" rear lights on but instead using the normal headlights:

Anyone else or is it just me?
    EDIT 2:
I Just drove a 628 Service on Linke Rheinstrecke, same their with the lights (AI train travelling the other direction then me):

EDIT: Also Motor stop doesn't work and in some scenarios where you are told to start the engine, the engine is already running (at least sound wise).

I don't know if it is for esthetics, but the train is very well known. I know it since my childhood and my youth later, when driving each day with this train to the nearest city. For the reputation itself the train is as far as I know one of the most reliable railcars the DB ever build.

Let's put it this way: It's a classic here already!
