As the Great Western Main line is in TSW 2 and the Brighton Mainline recently arrived, Maybe the line connecting them should be added. The North-Downs Line is a Railway line between Reading to Redhill via Guildford and terminuses at Reading and at Gatwick Airport and Redhill. The line opened to passengers in 1849 and the line was authorised by Acts of Parliament in 1846 and 1847 and most of it was constructed by the RG&RRC. A central section of the line near Guildford was built by a predecessor of the LSWR. The stated objective of the company was to "secure through traffic passing between the West, North and Midlands and the Channel Ports avoiding the congestion of London and thus saving time, distance and expense." ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The stations on the Route are: Wokingham, Blackwater, North Camp, Guildford, Dorking Deepdene, Reigate, Gatwick Airport & Redhill ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Rolling Stock and TOC's Class 165 & 166 (Great Western Railway/First Great Western) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Class 450 (South West Trains/South Western Railway) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Class 458 (South West Trains/South Western Railway) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Other Information For those who wand a High-density Metro line, this line is probably not for you but for the Rural lines with Rolling hills and Stunning Scenery of the British Countryside, this is Definately for you and for the Networker, Desiro or Juniper fan this is also for you as it has the 458 units. Personally i would like the route set in the 2000's as it was the Bygone era of South West Trains and the Blue and Pink Networker Turbos as it shows the Post-Privatisation Railway World.
Good suggestion. Would also require DTG to finish Reigate off! Potential for historic layers too Class 119 Gloucester DMU's (with the occasional Class 117 or 101) or go back further to the era of the Class 206 "Tadpole" DEMU units, which combined surplus Class 201 Hastings cars and driving trailers from 2 EPB units to produce the odd looking hybrid sets.
