Hello and welcome to my proposal for a new route to tsw: The Northumberland line: Metrocentre-Ashington plus the lines to Lynemouth and the Port of Blyth. This route would be shy of 30 miles with all branches and would include a northern class 158, a GBRf class 66, an IIA wagon (new to the game) and a JPA wagon (also new to the game) Timetable This route would be set on a Sunday timetable which sees the Northumberland line services go past Newcastle and through to the metrocentre with 2 northern class 158s coupled together to make a 4 car set however the end of the day services are ran by just a single 158. As for the GBRf class 66 it takes the alumina VTG branded JPA wagon to the Port of Blyth from Bedlington, this service would be ran one or two times a day in each direction. The class 66 can also pull a rake of either 25 or 24 car set of biomass IIA wagons transporting wood pellets to Lynemouth power station. Improvements/changes to stock Starting with the class 66, it would get: -A new GBRf class 66 livery -New stickers inside to match GBRf The class 158 would get: -A new northern livery -New seats and stickers to match northern rail -Train announcements Stations/points of interest -Metrocentre -Dunston -Newcastle -Manors -Heaton depot - Benton junction -Northumberland park -Seaton delaval -Newsham -Blyth bedside -Bedlington -The Port of Blyth -Ashington -Lynemouth power station Scenarios Shed to the rescue: Drive an emergency class 66 to help a failed alumina train out of Newcastle; you will be given full priority! Roll the freight on: There had been a line issue north of Ashington that had been preventing biomass trains from reaching Lynemouth after 2 weeks it got reopened but Lynemouth desperately needs more trains in. It’s your job to drive a class 66 that got squeezed in the schedule right off the back of the last one: watch your signals! Bebside stopper: Drive the first class 158 calling at Blyth bebside as you take on all the enthusiasts and train spotters at Blyth. Line issues: A track joint issue outside of Bedlington has caused the Northumberland line to grind to a halt it’s your job to get all of the passengers off your class 158 at Newsham and return to Heaton as a ECS as soon as possible before the line clogs up. Matchday: Drive an additional class 158 service out of ashington to accommodate the Newcastle united football club fans in time for the match. AI services -The class 801 at Newcastle -ECML freight -The class 220 at Newcastle -various other northern services Price £24.99 €29.99 $34.99 DLCs A class 60 DLC would be applicable for Lynemouth services but not for the Port of Blyth services so there would be limited game play (there would obviously be scenarios as well) but it would still be a nice addition to the game. Reasons for It is a 30 mile (so definitely doable) route that I would call interesting with a good mix of passenger and freight with two new wagons. I think this would make a good route for one of the many to come Tsw games.
I would love to see the Ashington line in game, however there are some things I would change. I think a class 156 would be a much more interesting introduction to the game, as we already have 2 versions of the 156. Like the Cardiff route, I think a ‘Newcastle Branches” route would be very interesting. Including Metrocentre, Morpeth and Sunderland. Also, the Sunday timetable is vastly different to the weekday timetable, so the use of both would be cool to see two aspects of the route.
