I don't really see what your whining is about, my dude. If you are satisfied with what we currently know about the route and are happy to buy it, then feel free and go ahead! Noone is stopping you, nor attacking you for liking the content.

But on the other hand, people have every right to criticize a product they did or will buy if they are dissatisfied with it.

While I don't necessarily agree with everything mentioned (the timetable stuff specifically, the LIRR stock is really outdated and probably wouldn't work - even as AI - on a new TSW 3 route, and adding Sandpatch to add in CSX freight does take up more memory), it is pretty ridiculous that the PIS still hasn't been fixed. They even wanted people to send in reference of American PIS for the Boston route, and absolutely nothing came of that, even after they got tons of extremely good firsthand reference.

Now, on the pickier side of things, it is really disappointing they didn't just... extend the line 15 more miles to make it to Philadelphia. That's the terminus for electrified Amtrak trains, and would add in the extra complexity of having NJT trains stop and turn around in the middle of the route.

Amtrak runs electric to DC, not sure what you mean. I would love to see it extended to Philadelphia, but DTG don't have the SEPTA license, so you'd be missing all of the commuter traffic south of Trenton. Not to mention most of that mileage is heavy urban landscape- not nearly as easy as the equivalent in countryside.

Also the NJT NEC trains don't turn around since they have the cabcar.

This thread has really compelled me over the past few days. Already fed up with US content issues the past year or so, now reading all of this here on a route I have been so excited to play with, I decided to film a video on the new info shared here by the devs in regards to the timetable, etc. as well as 'attempt' to amplify and share a lot of what most of us in here are concerned about regarding the future of USA content, in a video on YouTube.

For sure isn't perfect, and i know i left a lot out, but I did the best I could. I know not everyone visits the forums so this new information shouldn't be held from most of those who are mainly active on youtube and other social media sites.

The more people we get talking about this, the higher chance of us actually seeing change and US content being taken just as seriously as UK or German passenger. Cheers. :)

Great video. You also gained a sub here. Everything you said was spot on. Hope we can inform more players since it seems not many are aware of the issues and the current timetable that is planned to release at launch

They could just model the train just like what rivet game did on their recent DLC, with the tram, but I doubt any one would want that because it doesn't feel realistic, and there will be more complain :D

This is probably one of the most insenstive posts I have read on these forums in some time...wow. Does your boss force you to go to work when sick ? You have been around for long enough to know Matt heads the preview streams and to field questions from the community

DTG is run by humans not robots. Humans do fall ill from time to time don't you know ?

so I just want to confirm, with what we know at this time, NO other NJT AI services for branches other than the NEC one (red) will be included right? so no AI NJCL, Morristown, Gladstone, etc.?

Okay yeah it's not the best choice to cancel the LIRR and do not use the option to use static freight but there is a small option to expand the route with this options so it's not a absolute "no" in later patches. I beleve when this it posible without losing performance or breaking the route it is possible that DTG fix parts of this complains. So my advice is to wait until monday and wait what the team have to answer on this questions. And routes in Germany and the UK are for the most part a big shorter than this route. 94km is one of the largest routes in TSW3.

I sat and watched the entire video. Well done.
Also, you reminded me of Matt's question regarding the NJCL.
He essentially asked if it's ok to have ALP-46s on the route instead of ALP-45s (Bi Modes).
I understand he wants to be safe rather than sorry.
However, a quick look at their timetable and / or watching a number of YouTube videos, shows that most trains don't run from NYP to Bay Head. The vast majority use ALP-46s & ALP-46As.

I'm sure some would get upset, but I at least hope most wouldn't if NJCL trains only used ALP-46s.
I'm not even sure how many of the NJCL trains that use ALP-45s from NYP even continue to Bay Head.
Someone who's more familiar with that route can chime in.

Sorry to ask but is there any confirmation about static freight? I have seen there is no freight to drive but I have nothing found so far about the static way of freight.... For LIRR I fully aware of this amount of work to bring this in but static freight is not the largest work.... I can imagine it cost a few minutes to bring this in... Or I'm thinking to easily......

Aside from the occasional ones that are used in lieu of an ALP46, 3 NJCL round trips to/from Bay Head use them exclusively. All run express from Newark to Avenel or Woodbridge (which is off the NEC for those who are unaware).

Thanks for the input & clarification. I've seen the ALP-45s all over the system running in one mode, either electric or diesel.
I understand NJT has to use them, I just find it somewhat comical that it seems only a handful actually use both modes in revenue service.
    Especially when compared to Amtrak's & Metro-North's P32AC-DMs.
Heck, I think even AMT / EXO (the Montreal railroad & only other railroad that owns ALP-45s) actually uses both modes of their ALP-45s regularly.

Quick reminder that opinions (positive, constructive, or negative), are welcomed in the forum. Bad language and antagonistic behaviour aren't.

Game programmers always have to find a compromise between smooth frame rates and graphics. With graphics, too much and too detailed can lead to a huge frame rate drop, which kills the immersion, i.e. the feeling of diving into a virtual world. Today's game engines are now programmed so efficiently and graphics chips are so powerful that wonderful graphics are possible, one also speaks of photorealism. So much for the theory. Such a busy station as NY Penn (as explained in Pixelade's video) has the advantage of being built underground in Manhattan. This saves a lot of memory in the long tunnel sections, or can be used to load new scenery. Many older console games always had such tunnel sections or bridging sections built in, due to a lack of RAM, so that there was enough time to reload. With the introduction of fast SSDs, however, this problem has also become smaller.
If, for example, you just replace a few skyscrapers that are less detailed, the overall performance will not be affected. But if you increase the number of trains, as in Sunnyside Yard, and then add running AI LIRR commuter trains too, then this is a high-performance operation for the graphics chips and can bring the working memory to its knees. It could help to equip AI trains with little or no detailed interior or to build in levels of detail. This compression technique is already used in TSW with trees, which sometimes leads to pop ups.

Hope this is helpful and and another constructive support for this thread!

As I mentioned, AFAWK only NJT NECL trains are included.
This means if it's not a NECL train, it's not known to be included.
We'll know for sure when it drops, but it doesn't look likely.
Also, I believe DTG hasn't mentioned anything about ALP-45s being included, only ALP-46s.

Wanted to show the services schedule for tomorron for NJT from NY Penn station to Secaucus junction about 139 services stop in Secaucus juction. These include diesel,Dual mode trains. These don't include Trains that skip Secaucus juction.I couldn't edit the number listed next to the times. so please disregard those numbers I apologize. Wanted to show the times it takes from Penn to Secaucus and the service line operating the service to show all the different lines that operate through

That's a very hefty comment, might wanna wrap it in some spoiler tag or similar + the numbering got broken. But yeah, that's nearly 140 services in one direction... Compared to ca 41 in our timetable...

That’s missing a few trains that skip Secaucus during peak hours. Most if not all the M&E trains (63xx/66xx) and a handful of NEC/NJCL trains don’t make Secaucus at that time.

I was hoping for a miracle but I think we all knew nothing was going to change. Hopefully We get a new timetable in the future. Until this happens I will skip this DLC.......

They even through this in for more Jabs at the US content

Train Sim World 3 players that want even more American passenger trains to operate can look back through the Train Sim World Compatible back catalogue and purchase additional route and locomotive Add-ons. Here’s a selection of Add-Ons that give you the freedom to explore some of New York’s other railroads!
    • Train Sim World Compatible: Harlem Line: Grand Central Terminal - North White Plains
    • Train Sim World Compatible: Long Island Rail Road: New York - Hicksville
    • Train Sim World Compatible: LIRR M3 EMU Loco Add-On

Article was good, nothing new but it sums up the already known information pretty well.

Hoping the preview stream is somewhat of a success and will answer a lot of the questions

One train from Hicksville to Penn Station every hour. Just like the real thing!
(For comparison, trains from Hicksville to Penn Station go at 19:23, 19:50, 20:23 and 20:38 even at evening times like this. 3 or 4 times the traffic.)

It is a shame as it could be a very interesting route with a busy timetable. I like the network feel of it.

I hope they’ll have a huge update for Long Island railroad this summer or the end of this year maybe include the 3rd track and Elmont station grand central Madison station and add the port Washington or Long Beach route to TSW 3.

True that. Even despite it's shortcomings, LIRR is one of my favorite routes to drive on. I used to drive on it a lot in TSW2020 and still do even in TSW3. I just love the M3 and the whole feel of the route. I was always hoping that one day it would get a proper timetable (and maybe other scenery related fixes), but it never happened.

Well I was told again there still no plans to add any layers onto the route with no explanation as to why. I don't get how they managed to put LIRR & Static freight in scenarios but it's a whole problem to put it in timetable. Has me fed up

It really is backwards thinking on their part. Let’s focus on the scenarios which someone will play once or twice and forget about, but not the timetable, the main part

    Perspective: Luzerne/Sursee has more services.
