I was Down to 9fps at Penn when I started. As I left heading west to Trenton the fps increased. Yes its busy and most of the running I was on 60 - 62 fps with the Acela unfortunately I spadded coming into Trenton..... Its always coming into Trenton I bloody spad. Lol Hentis
On XBX every attempt to run new timetable end with OUT OF MEMORY ERROR and ctd... I expect DTG most certain fix action to just cut out consoles users from this content SO you are lucky if it run at all!
On my Xbox X I have been able to play the new timetable with no issues. I do get some lower FPS at Penn but other than that all. Good. Are you running with the LIRR and M3? I only have the LIRR. Not sure if that would help
Hey there, could you be so kind as to list your installed AddOns in this thread: https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/crashes.74073/#post-724729 We are currently looking into issues on Xbox X/S, it might be worth noting what AddOns you have, compared to those that are currently having these issues. Thank you very much, Jan
I got to try it out a bit yesterday and found it impressive, NY Penn is packed with trains constantly coming and going. I spent a long time just watching all this traffic, amazed. Joe has done it again, many thanks to him for all his effort and for all that he makes us players enjoy, and to DTG for thinking and heeding the requests. What I would like to see is static merchandise stock in the yards, now it's a bit dull to see them so empty. Hopefully someday they will find a way to be able to add it. As for performance, on ps5 in Penn the fps dropped quite a bit the first time it was run, but after that it got considerably better.
In an attempt to be helpful, might I suggest removing some of your DLCs for the time being to see if that improves performance? Before the arrival of add-on manager, this was a good way to mitigate crashes. Obviously I would start with LIRR and M3 if you have that. Does Xbox even have add-on manager yet? I forget. Another good strategy is to limit the number of custom liveries you have, not just for NYT but for everything. On Series S, I find that using these two strategies helps a lot, although I can't help with NYT at the moment.
It's less about being easy (it was in there, so it's actually more effort to remove it), it's more about it causing crashes, even on high-end 9Gen devices in testing. Unfortunately had to be removed to be playable.
Glad you're all enjoying it so far! I know Joethefish put blood, sweat, and (probably a lot of) tears into this one, so wanted to give him a big, fat, pat on the back for his hard work, and for the QA team who have tested the content.
Unfortunately for me it's not been a good experience with the new schedule... Every 3 seconds the game stutters, regardless of where I am on the route, whether in Trenton or New York. I believe that my PC is even reasonable to run, since on other routes it runs very well... My specs: - AMD Ryzen 5 5600G - 16GB DDR4 RAM - GeForce GTX 1660 Super 6GB - HD SSD nvme 1TB WD
How many runs did you make? It's quite normal that the first run have a lot stutter due to the things that have been rendered the first time and saved in you're GPU cache...
I see PS5 players who like to play Journey mode are being screwed over by the Xbox Series S again, the services within the Journey are all the Reduced timetable despite having a console capable of running the full fat timetable. When the new SouthEastern Highspeed timetable was released Matt quickly apologised for this and we soon had a patch to switch Journey mode to use the full timetable, so why has this happened again?
Is somewhere a PC gameplay with all the layers active? Which DLCs are required for all traffic to be on?
I've done 2 races at the moment. I thought it would be resolved, but it's still the same situation. I'll try again later
I’m able to run it on Xbox X with no issues and even as I do more runs the frame rates are Penn station are getting better. I don’t have any liveries or scenarios saved so maybe might have something do to with it.
That is the longer-term plan, yes. We've had to make this second timetable quite close to release, so that is the reason. Don't have an ETA, but that is our aspiration.
I'm not seeing any passengers. On XSX ran the line twice ... no passengers on platforms or getting on and off trains. There are just passengers that ride the train and never get off. Have both LIRR and M3. And not ECS moves. I'm assuming I'm an edge case here.
I play journey mode and it feels like a forgotten step child at this point. To get to it at all, you have to go through a special menu entry that is off to the side. It doesn't get updates when the timetable does (so Bakerloo is still on the old timetable, for example) and sometimes misses out on features like dynamic weather. I play journey mode because it was sold as a playlist that increases in challenges and offers interesting and sometimes unique services. A little disappointed to see it feel so forgotten now.
Yes, right now, I was able to run old timetable :/. Azuma ctd on full timetable as well... Wtf? Pity.
On every single PC regardless of components? Or only on low powered PCs? I'm not sure how you'd be running out of memory on a 32GB/64GB ram system for example.
This timetable is better than I hoped it could be. I can’t thank you enough Joethefish next time I’m stuck in secaucus it will truly feel like home
Are we talking system ram or video ram here. System ram is easy and relatively cheap to upgrade. Video Ram can be more tricky and there are only a few possible options, and no room for expansion on them.
I've got 16GB of Vram, and 64GB of system ram. If it's crashing that, it's a fundamental issue with the engine at that point. Modern gaming PC's shouldn't be running out of memory, no matter what TSW throws at them.
Well, I'm reluctant to complain because the new timetable seems like a vast improvement, but I do think that freight should have been an option for those who have high end machines with good specs, including 32/64GB of DDR4/5 memory. I've never had an OOM issue and I don't believe I would no matter how many layers were available.
Same, I'm not complaining. I just don't see how anything TSW4 can throw at my PC is going to cause an OOM issue. Consoles with fixed hardware? Sure I can see them being an issue, but that doesn't mean us on higher spec machines should be penalized as well, especially if the work was already done creating the full timetable.
Might be related to the advertised minimum and recommended specs. If its crashing those then I can see why it'd be pulled.
They tried and couldn’t do it. I can’t ask for more than that. Freight is so small irl. I’m happy to accept what they did do and be grateful
wish i could be seeing how busy it is but steam still tells me I don't own this DLC after almost 24 hours of it being updated lol
And 10am is after rush hour. Now sunnyside you have a long line of trains going there around that time
Yea, tunnel marked line 1 is backed up waiting for lights as the train ahead is doing about 5mph into the yard
Steam is west coast so they are probably just getting up or heading to work. Just a couple more hours until they start releasing the content
That's pretty much my experience ... loving the timetable ... are you not seeing passengers as well or is it just me?
Good point and I’d forgotten about that… it was a bit jarring to have all these trains stopping at Secaucus but the platform was empty. Like literally empty. Core issue I guess but it’s pretty immersion breaking… maybe passenger spawn points need to be closer?
