I am a very frequent commuter within the GTA line, such as areas from downtown Toronto, to Oakville, and other places such as Scarborough or Oshawa. I suggest extending the line from Oakville GO station continuing East, following Clarkson GO station, Port Credit Go station, Long Branch station, Mimico GO station, Exhibition GO station, connecting to Toronto's Union Station. This would be a very useful addition to the simulator, and would create a lot more possibilities. The route also extends farther along Danforth GO station, Scarborough GO station, Eglinton GO station, Guildwood GO station, Rouge Hill GO station, Pickering GO station, Ajax Go station, Whitby GO station, and finally Oshawa GO station. This would be one of the most necessary inclusions in the simulator. There is also a lot more scenery that can be implemented in the game such as rush Hour commuter traffic, adding go transit services, which are already accessible in the reskins forum. It would also be very convenient to have the possibility of including Go Transit Express Services, going eastbound and westbound which could even be made in the custom scenery tab. This would include westbound trains from Toronto Union Station making all stops to Aldershot go, or farther connecting to West Harbor. For the most part it would also be very reasonable to add the eastbound line as a go transit service. This service would be heading from West Harbor go to Union, proceeding further east, or from locations such as Aldershot or Oakville GO station which can start its service from the fourth track on platform 4. This train stops its duration at Oakville on platform 4 and proceeds back towards Union Station heading eastbound. Lastly, it would be useful to include other types of Transportation such as via or Amtrak. I hope these suggestions can be taken into consideration for the Oakville subdivision.
Having bought the route in the sale, the current version is a bit short. Like most DTG routes it could do with another 15 to 20 miles. Problem is, they don’t seem to be into extending existing routes otherwise GWE would have been at Oxford or have its branch lines by now, TVL would continue to Boulby and NTP to York.
Yes, I can see that, but from a realistic perspective. Just adding the oakville route is not realistic, even if they extended it just 6 more stops to union station it would make a whole different experience. If they can make a cal train route that is over 30 miles long, why not make something just 10 miles or 29 km longer? It does not make sense, there is so much scenery in downtown, I will also provide pictures that I have collected. The scenery they could add as a DLC would definitely gather attention from enthusiasts as it is one of the most popular railways in the world. No one seems to recognize that. It’s not a lot of work, I assume it would not be problematic to just extend the 5 stops as they already did for the west route. And I don’t want to hear the license excuse because extending the commute does not require any licenses. There are also different freights hauling in muissisaga. If that’s what the package is all about.
I don’t think you would make a good lawyer… ‘But sir, you parked illegally!’ ‘No NEED to pay for parking!’
Yes, there is. You cannot add or recreate the intellectual property of a brand/person without permission or agreements, especially if the product of yours is for-profit. - that's not a quote, but a description.
Clearly no one here cares about the possible turnaround for train sim but your choose. Play your Sherman LOVE. Don’t add Toronto, it’s not “just one of the most popular touristic destinations in the world”
I'm sorry, but just because you would like a route, doesn't mean it will be successful. I wouldn't buy this - even if I owned Oakville - because it hasn't been (proverbially) sold to me. What am I getting out of this route? To me, nothing.
Maybe Toronto is popular, fair play. But so is, say Paris, or Sydney, or Moscow. I doubt it would create that much extra traffic for the game, and it’s literally illegal to include GO stock.
So your ignoring one of the most popular railways in the industry over some crappy Sherman LOVE and you won’t even give something a chance that has not been released yet. It’s so sad.
How is it sad? I've never heard of Toronto Union whatever it is station. I didn't have a clue the Oakville existed until it came to TSW. I've heard of the West Highland Line, I've heard of the Trans-Siberian Railroad, I've heard of the Maccu-Pichu Railroad, I've heard of the collective Canadian Pacific (primarily through history, tbf), I've heard of the grand Union Pacific Railroad. This one? Hardly.
It’s not that we aren’t giving it a chance, but it’s just not true. GO is not one of the most popular railways in the world, and I reckon most players would prefer SH over a GO route. It’s also, as I said, literally illegal to make a route with unlicensed stock.
Well that’s your crappy opinion. People from ALL around the WORLD, visit Toronto globally and the fact that you as one individual won’t revenue take the time to look at a few pictures I specifically use my personal time to create. No one gives a single LOVE. For what reason? Just sit on your ass and make 4 more stops, is it so much to ask for?
Narcissism detected! My "crappy opinion" is my opinion. If you don't like it, that's fine, however your opinion is not better than mine, and mine isn't better than yours. People visit Toronto from all around the world - granted, I've never been to Canada, but it's a place I'd like to go, it's a wonderful country. However that does not equate to the railway being internationally famous. And I did look at the pictures - as a matter of fact, it is current 01:44 where I am, so I'm very much taking my own time (out of my sleep) to look at your pictures... Also, "Just sit on your ass and make 4 more stops" oh snap! I didn't realise I was Dovetail's official route builder now. Thanks for the promotion, chief
You know U won’t be able to raise awareness on this issue alone. If we gather a crew we would be able to but if people keep disagreeing it won’t ever work.
That's... The point of the suggestions forum... You pitch your idea to Dovetail and the Community, they (the community) give their opinion... I'm currently on a mission to suggest every route in my homeland, Scotland. Is there a guarantee I'll see more than the Cathcart Circle in-game, ever? No. Is there a possibility it will be futile and a waste of time? Yes. Is it worth a try? Yes. Are people allowed to disagree? Yes.
Extending Oakville to Toronto Union Station will make OSD Unplayable for Gen 8 consoles because Toronto Union Station acts like BML London Victoria Pre Gen 9 upgrade console HMA Munchen Hbf due to it being a major terminal. Required layer is Caltrain baby bullet & SFJ
And returning to my original point, DTG do not nor have they indicated they will in future, extend the physical distance of any released TSW route. If you want Toronto in a sim you will need to look elsewhere or get your hands dirty in the MSTS/Trainz/TS editor and build it yourself. I have heard of Toronto Union station, went there once in 1986 to catch the Canadian across to Vancouver, but it’s not a location I would want to see in TSW over and above more interesting places.
Why is it unplayable? Because your adding in simple textures to the game? Makes no sense at all. So if I add a windmill it means the game is (unplayable) people open your eyes!
Would never want to see if you have never seen it. All these whores just don’t want to give it a chance, think that 3 crappy stops does the job. I give up, go LOVE yourself, I’m deleting your game until you add Toronto, hope your happy about an unsatisfied customer. Goodbye scammers.
whoa language you seriously need to look at the rules or your more likely to get banned here. With regards to what driver Woods was meaning was that if you added what you have recommended and extend to where you have said you may encounter the problems that are currently London commuter and munchen ausberg I think it was. Basically they have really big terminals and they do not run really well at all on the hen 8 consoles the next gen consoles can handle them a lot better and I am sure the community doesn't want a problem like that again. Everyone has give very much valid criticism and opinions.
Also do you not realise none of us are employees of dtg we are the community. And if you think its a scam well you have already payed for it. Obviously the amount of suggestiona given are hundreds just have a detailed look through the amount of suggestions there are. Dtg have to decide out of the hundreds and thousands what will the majority of the community wants and of course this is a business so what will be the most fininancially viable
Yeah, with San Francisco it’s not a problem though. Just Toronto everyone seems to hate for no reason when you have never even gave it a chance, no one is forcing you to play it on a shitty console. Your not forced to do it anyways, and ban me, I don’t care, I’m leaving a crappy review.
no one is hating on it everyone is explaining to you why it's not going to happen most likely so you aren't dissapointed.
So business means, take a crumb out of what actually exists and claim it to be a profitable product. When the product itself is LOVE. And no I did not pay for it, I piroted the game because I would never spend a cent on that kind of bs.
Wow this is going to be a gem of forum thread you admiring to piracy how are you even going to leave a review
Okay explain to me how this game is scam and as to why its lengthy existence hasn't resulted in any charges
For simply “lying on the official website saying that there would be via, transit services in the GTA area, when there’s no gta, just a pile of trash.
where does it say this can you attach a screenshot or something to the message. Also by what do you mean by gta
what do you mean. I am being honest. I don't often look on the Web page or know what you mean by the GTA line.
Word of advice. Admitting to the theft of DTG's intellectual property on their own forums of all places and then having the audacity to complain about their product will not aid your cause.
It would have to do with 8th gen consoles not having enough ram and Hardware on newer routes that might include Oakville Subdivision Eastern extension Oakville to Toronto Union Station since Toronto Union Station is a major city terminal. 9th gen consoles have power to handle AI traffic to or from Toronto Union Station
Personally when I think of "great railway journeys of the world" I don't think of the line from Oshawa to Toronto... When I think of great railway towns or cities I don't think of Toronto... I mean, great city and full of life and culture but I can think of many other cities I would put in front of it were I to go on a rail trek through even North America, let alone the rest of the world
First rule of Piracy - you don't try and get support from the developer. If you pirate it and run into problems then you are on your own. Have had to tell a couple of people at work off for that because they called us up when their dodgy key stopped working.
Little bump to this thread... After playing and enjoying Oakville the last few evenings there is so much more potential. If a route extension or rebuild is ever envisaged please consider the following: 1. Extend into central Toronto to include Union station. 2. Extend to Niagara or possibly even across the border to Buffalo. 3. In addition to GO services, add Amtrak and VIA Rail - yes it's only a few trains in each direction per day, but still fun to operate and the assets would have plenty of future potential use. Item 3 subject to licensing of course. In addition this would provide a much longer run for freight traffic.
The Amtrak train it's called the Maple leaf and uses Amfleet II & Amfleet I seen on Boston Providence. Locomotives for it are P32AC-DM P40/P42DC. For the Niagara Falls Customs stop the way to do it is copy RSN Locomotive moves which are split in two halves first is Hagen to Werdohl Part 2 is Werdohl Finnentrop. In the case of Oakville Subdivision Buffalo, NY to Toronto via Oakville Part 1 drive to Niagara Falls, ON from Buffalo, NY Part 2 Niagara Falls, ON to Toronto, ON via Oakville.
