We've timestamped Maintalbahn here - there's a section at the end of that bit which details audio capture.
Is formation designer to be compatible with CC liveries? If so, will we get CC liveries work on freight cars?
Please can you allow us to disable the scenario music? Please. I'm not saying remove it as I know there are those who like it nor is this a comment on the (admittedly very nice) music, just allow users who don't want it in-game to turn it off. I find it very distracting and I now won't play any of the scenarios in the new routes since I can't predict if and when I'm going to be interrupted by music.
I commented in the chat yesterday but I'll flag it here too. Is there an issue developing in the DTG awareness with the shelf life or perceived quality of products if they're only valid for a year or so with likely only emergency fixes and delayed features applied during that time and no updates are provided once that time frame lapses? Or is this viewed as a vocal minority problem? Thanks for the forthright way in which you conducted the stream yesterday. I saw a lot of cause for optimism in that.
I don't: I mean the incidental music that suddenly appears out of nowhere when I'm in the middle of a scenario.
Good question. Given the extensive new content in TSW4, it's a fair assumption that planning and development began when TSW3 was fairly new. So it's also fair to assume that planning and development for the next version ( TSW5? ) is already underway. Will those long term routes in the Roadmap ( 6 months and up ) form the nucleus of a new game? With TSW2 thrown under the bus and TSW3 hanging on by its fingernails, it's reasonable to question the longevity of this and any future iterations of the game. That said, I agree that it was a very positive and forward looking stream. Well stage managed of course, as they all are these days.
Another issue I see is the continued flow of new route content actually makes it impossible to go back and finish the older stuff, before the next new arrival. Since TSW4 have barely touched the older stuff. Think as part of the process and I know this will not get a mention, why not go back and create some loco and stock packs for the existing content rather than continuing to churn out new stuff? Where is the love for SoS, welcomed in to the sound of heralds and trumpets but now lies forlorn in the section reserved for nearly abandoned content? Can see Peak Forest going the same way. This existing content should be like a model railway, getting added to as time goes by.
Because some of the old routes have more to do than time available in a day. Then a new game comes out and the new routes get played on. The end result being older content is no longer played.
But it’s not every day a route gets released. Why not finish what you want to do on a route before buying another? You might even save a few quid.
As an example: BML has 1000+ services. I haven't even completed half of them, yet SEHS has now become my favourite and most most played. Those unfinished BML routes are now never going to be completed. That was with TSW3. Now TSW4 is here, with three brand new routes with more features. The older routes will be abandoned (or played once in a blue moon) because they lack those features that make the new routes interesting. How long would it take to complete 1000+ hour long services? Forever, that's how long.
That's the most absurd thing I've heard. So I don't bother buying Peak Forest until I've played everything on SoS or even GWE. I'm not going to deprive myself of something I really want. I only spend roughly 90 minutes a day playing the game, less if I do something else instead. In point of fact though there are a few routes I haven't got round to purchasing - NYT, West Rhine, Edinburgh to Glasgow and with the new tranche of interesting routes incoming, particularly Blackpool, unlikely to do so. But you entirely missed my point that I would like to hear from DTG, why they continue to churn out so much new stuff, yet there is mucho money to be made in enhancing (we know expansion is not likely) at least some of the back catalogue.
But people would only complain that new routes aren’t being released! Buy what you want but don’t then complain that you haven’t completed whatever route.
Does it matter if they aren’t completed? I get it, I also want to complete them but it’s your choice what to play? To moan about DTG “churning out routes” is absurd.
I give up, there’s nothing stopping people from completing services on routes. If they choose to buy another route and play that over completing services on routes they already own…and then complain about it…people really do like a moan.
I agree with that element of the conversation. I think you might have missed that I was merely appropriating your turn of phrase to make the point that churning out dlc can affect the amount of time and resources applied to quality.
Agree 100% also update the latest news section. Sick of looking at TSW4 out now etc. Give us some news on the update you plan to do with what we got
Please include compilation of shaders during game/route loading as the rest of games do. Everytime there´s a new game version or new GPU drivers are published the old shaders become useless, requiring to compile shaders on the fly again on player´s machine for all routes and having to deal with new hitching/freezes during first run on each route as well. This is a total no-go. GPU drivers are updated around once per month and game can be updated every few months. We can´t be repeating the process so frequently during gameplay and for all routes. This needs to be generated just once upon first load, without disturbing normal gameplay performance with yet more additional processes. Cheers
