I know I'm not the only one who feels this way, but the signals in Wonders of Sodor are one of my biggest frustrations. I've talked about this before, but I want to explain why rather than just complain.

My issue is that Free Roam doesn't always feel truly free. Having to set a path and constantly worry about signal restrictions takes away from the freedom the mode is supposed to offer. What makes it even more frustrating is that if you pass a signal incorrectly, it's essentially game over. There's no warning, no opportunity to correct your mistake, and no chance to back up like you would on a real railway. The session just ends, which feels unnecessarily punishing.

As you're driving, you're constantly thinking about where to stop and whether you've set the route correctly instead of simply enjoying the railway. Combined with the limited content and the current lack of AI traffic, it can make the experience feel more restrictive than immersive.

Personally, I'd love to see an option that disables signal penalties in Free Roam or allows players to ignore route setting altogether. That way, players who want a more realistic experience can keep the current system, while those who just want to explore the island freely can do so without constantly worrying about ending their session.
