I must admit even before getting started properly on anything, I find the small viewport a bit restricting. It’s like being back in the old MSTS editor before we got the utility to make it bigger. Coming from Trainz Surveyor and the TSC editors which are basically full screen with tabs that can be opened and closed, it’s a bit of a step back in time.

The editor UI is completely customisable - tear windows out as you wish, if you have multiple screens you can make full use of them. Not sure if you can have collapsible tabs though but not looked.

I am not very sure that this is a good place to Install it, Because of the way Windows security settings work.

I think a better place would be C:/ or at the root of another drive like where you might have your TSW Installation and loads of space.
    Like eg I have E:/TrainSimWorld4MOD
Its a new SSD, that I just formatted, it has all my Steam Libraries, TS Classic, GIS Data (maps, LiDAR, SRTM, markers and all that stuff), And my Epic/Unreal Content on it.

I have a multiple display set up.
I also noticed that just like in the default build of a 4.26 or 5.3 Unreal engine, You can make the windows whatever way you like to have them.

But will it turn out that with the release of the 5th game next year, this editor will stop working? Or start compatibility problems? In the classic there, the editor in the game is directly built -in and when it updates the problems, it did not arise.

From what DTG is saying in the streams, the game engine will not receive changes as big as previously. The Editor is a long term project. It will keep being maintained, having features added, etc ... If the next version of the game requieres the Editor to be updated to maintain compatibility, they will do it.

A thing that is important to keep in mind right now is that the Editor is currently a Beta, and people should not start large scale projects just yet.

Not quite true. TSC specifically rarely receives any changes to anything fundamental and specifically has very few changes because of ensuring the content library doesn't break. We have had instances like the 64bit change and a recent change causing the community great pains which all took time to resolve.

We are not planning on making any breaking changes on TSW but it's not guaranteed that we'll never do it. That said - TSW3 and TSW4 did not require any SOURCE changes at all, just building and re-uploading, so worst case there is you migh need to repackage and upload aversion compatible with a future change. If we become aware of anything like that we'll let you know.

But - we specifically try to avoid it, because it causes *us* huge pains too with a massive library that would *all* need fixing.

    Matt.
