You are absolutely right, of course. When I looked at the track diagrams, I missed the single track from Long Rock to the station because it parallels the carriage sidings. It must have been a pain in bad weather.

Do you think this will be modeled by rivet or accidentally missed?

If they are following the track plan then the infrastructure should be correct, or so you would hope.
As regards the track circuit failures, in recent years NR installed axle counters so the system could be switched across as required. Sadly TSW doesn’t as yet simulate infrastructure failures though I doubt even the most hardened simmer would want to spend 75 minutes in real time waiting for the MOM to arrive from St Blazey, particularly as we can’t speed up time in the game…

Well I have just been looking at the preview video of the Class 150 and my expectations for the package have risen significantly. Probably still not a Day 1 purchase but subject to no glaring bugs being reported might not have to wait for a sale either.

I thought it might be helpful to show the sort of passenger services which ran on the line between St Austell and Penzance. I haven't got a copy of an early 1990s timetable but do have the 1989 one and the list below shows all the down services for Mondays to Saturdays. The up trains follow a similar pattern. I don't think the service pattern changed much for the next few years, i.e. into the early 1990s. Bear in mind this is the timetable until 14 May and there would be additional 'holiday' trains to Penzance on Summer Saturdays. The reference to 'Sprinter' and 'IC125' ('125' in the timetable) is the Train Facility Symbol in the timetable.

Down trains – times are at Truro (except for the St Ives-Penzance trains)

    0643 – 0617 Par to Falmouth Docks 0712
0734 – 2355 London Paddington to Penzance 0825 (St Austell 0714) ‘Night Riviera’ sleeper
(0814 St Ives to Penzance 0835)
    0847 – 0725 Plymouth to Falmouth Docks 0909
0850 – 0817 Falmouth Docks to Penzance 0931 (reverses at Truro)
(0940 St Ives to Penzance 1001)
    0940 – 0456 Cardiff Central to Penzance 1020 Sprinter
    1040 – 0925 Plymouth to Penzance 1120 Sprinter
    1120 – 0645 Swindon to Penzance 1210 Sprinter
(1235 St Ives to Penzance 1258)
    1300 – 0810 London Paddington to Penzance 1341 IC125
(1335 St Ives to Penzance 1356)
(1421 St Ives to Penzance 1442)

Of course some if not most of the longer distance services at that point would have been 155's. There were a couple of three day cyclic diagrams that took them away from Cardiff, though the fleet was so unreliable we usually had to end up swapping them out or covering with a heritage DMU as only Canton were really qualified to repair them.

From my days on Lostwithiel station in the late 80s/early 90s, I remember the Cardiff-Penzance services were in the hands of 155s and one of the Plymouths was a 101!

That’s good. We can ask Matt on air, what he thinks of the Rivet design that I hope Jasper has improved it, as the view of St. Ives from the train previously looked dreadful and I hope it is now realistic. DTG set a high standard so I hope Rivet will meet it!!!
