One day, on the Island of Sodor, A green little engine from the North Western Railway was working a train. This engine is number six & called 'Percy'. Percy is a small green engine who regularly works trains on the Ffarquhar branchline with Thomas, a blue tank engine. When Percy isn't working on the Ffarquhar branchline, they're often found in the yard of Knapford putting trains together or putting them away. Percy also works the night mail service, delivering & collecting post from & to all across the Island of Sodor. On this day, Percy was working a train up to Ffarquhar from Knapford Harbour. They kept finding hats that belonged to Mr Conductor on their journey. As Percy puffed into the station, they spotted Mr Conductor on the platform. "Peep peep!" Percy tooted on their whistle. "Mr Conductor! Mr Conductor!" Percy called out. "I've got something of yours" continued Percy. Weesh. Percy came to a stop with the train The doors opened & Mr Conductor helped passengers on & off the train. Then he walked up to Percy. "Hello Percy. How are you?" He said. "Hello Mr Conductor, I'm good, thank you!" Said percy. "I hope you're well, but I've got something for you." "Oh, what have you got?" Asked Mr Conductor. "Your hat! - Well, more like hats" replied Percy. "My hats?" Mr Conductor responded, being shocked that he's lost more than one. Percy's driver hands over the hats to Mr Conductor from their storage box. "Wherever did you find those?" He continued. "All across the branchline, stations, water towers, everywhere. You've got to be more careful" said Percy, with a slight giggle. "Ah, I see" Mr Conductor replied. "That would be Junior's doing". "Junior is here?" Asked percy "Yes. He keeps 'borrowing' my hats & not returning them. Just as he did with gold dust!" Said Mr Conductor. "Do you remember that Percy?" He asked. "Yes" sighed Percy. "How could i forget?" Percy answered. "Just make sure you find the rest, Mr Conductor. Don't want them getting lost or covered in coal soot" Percy continued. "I will try my best, Percy, thank you!" Said Mr Conductor, smiling. Doors slamed shut. The guards whistle blew, the green flag waved. "Right away!" the dispatcher shouted. Percy's fireman waved to acknowledge the right of way. "Time to go!" Percy said. "Peep peep!" Percy whistled. "Good bye Mr Conductor! See you later!" Called out Percy. "Safe journeys & thanks again!" Mr Conductor called back. Weeeeesh, huff, puff, huff, puff, huf, puf, huf, puf. Percy chugged along, departing the station. "Come along, come along, we can do it, we can do it" puffed Percy to the carriages. "We're going, were going" they responded. Do you think Mr Conductor will get all his hats back?
