Just read what I've written about the 20. The thing is, they never lost their domino's for plated yellow!
A couple of poor pics of 20176, complete with 'Ferret & Dartboard', 8176 numbers under the TOPS number, and a glimpse of the alphanumeric headcode. Bear in mind this is May 1982 and the location is Bescot. The loco is in service and will remain so until November 1991. I wonder when it lost its alphanumerics?
The development of my first WCML scenario has seen an upload of a few items in readiness. As you may have noticed, a number of Green diesels and Black steamers have already been uploaded, but now I am uploading Formations. There are a few... I discovered that I can keep them relatively simple by using generic coaches if possible and the Carmine & Cream BR MK1s and the Maroon MK1s have all come from the LPC stock list. There are only a couple of Repaints in all the coach formations, and these are already uploaded from a while back! Here then are 2 of the coach rakes and a loco rake: Formation - D217 + MK1s x10
Hmm, this is bitter-sweet to write this. I've got to the point in my preparations for my 1958 WCML scenario to be uploaded, all formations and repaints uploaded in advance and I discovered that the scenario will not upload. It IMMEDIATELY crashes the game when I click on it to upload! Now I could report it, but what will I be told? Have I got any 3rd party mods? No. Have I got any Formations? Yes, and the scenarios is based on Formations - many Formations, all my own. Do I have repaints|? Yes, all my own and yes, they are in the Formations too. The Scenario works fine on my own PC, which is good for me, but I would like to share it. So it seems for the moment that the Scenario will have to remain private. HOWEVER, it will not stop me producing repaints and Formations - as long as they work for others. My repaints seem to work for others; I don't know about the Formations as I've not had any feedback. If you can give me an answer to that, I would be grateful. Meantime, here are a few Formations that have gone up recently: D8026 / D8039 + 12x MK1 BGs 13201 + 8xBGs 44842 + 8F + 45025 - Stabled Steam 4 Jubilee + MK1 x9 in Blood & Custard livery Black 5 45020 + 8x MK1 in mixed livery
I thought I had better do an inventory of my Livery Editor and see what I need to upload - I stopped counting at 125! I tend to prepare assets in conjunction with specific scenarios, but if I'm having a problem with uploading scenarios, there's no point in doing that, so I'll just upload as I go. To that end, here are a first small group of new repaints: 59001 in Foster Yeoman livery JUA Outer wagon PR 28452 in FY colours JUA Inner wagon PR 26499 in FY colours
HST 43041 + 43166 in InterCity Swallow livery 47105 in BR Blue with black headcodes. This loco is preserved in this livery, but is suitable for 1970s and 1980s time period too.
A few more: 08032, bought by Foster Yeoman in the mid 1970s for shunting at the Mendip Quarrys 47340 in Railfreight Redstripe livery
HST 253033 with Power Cars 43135 + 43136 in InterCity Executive livery HST Power Cars 43095 'Heaton' + 43059 in InterCity Executive livery
20015 / 20064 in BR Blue. This is a single loco with 2 different numbers, one on each side. For use especially in Formations.
Another double sided 20; a hybrid 37 and 2 prototype Class 47s... 20119 / 20093 in a single unit 37330
David, you are too generous. Yes sadly, bufferbeams tend to be out of bounds, which is a pain. Anyway, we all have our superpowers, yours is formations and route access. I doff my cap to you
I'm also quite good at pinching your ideas Having seen your screenshot of the CL20 hauling 2 x 8Fs I thought, "That's what I've forgotten in my formation mods". I also thought "I wonder if we can get rid of the 'steam' and have properly dead locos? And the answer is we can !!! (Well a nice friendly Canadian colleague can as I don't have a clue). So this is what I now have A CL40 with a single 8F and a CL45 with a pair of them (1 reversed). These will definitely work as AI. Now I want to see if it is possible to drive the buggers Then I'll see if I can do something similar with the other kettles. (I have been given instructions) (Any photos of mixed freight rakes with kettles in them will be appreciated......if such things ever existed?).
Great pics, David! The idea of 'dead' locos crossed my mind when I was doing those steam formations. That would be a good addition. My only addition would be that they will be better with Green diesels rather than Blue, unless its a pre-TOPS Blue loco! They may be coming soon... Until then, here are a few more liveries I've dusted off 43103 + 43194 in InterCity Swallow livery 47329 in Departmental Grey livery
Being Dutch and all I love these Civil Engineers liveries, no bias here . Great job as always! You Brits even copied our mainline EMU livery once, that certainly looks interesting aswell!
I don't remember that livery, mind you, it was 1987 and I wasn't out and about around that time, and missed quite a bit.
A few more. First up is 2 Class 47s in early 1970s BR Blue livery with TOPS numbers but still retaining an alpha-numeric headcode. 47401 47123 presents an odd variation of BR Blue. When repainted into BR Blue, probably around 1967 / 68, it received a variation of the new livery with 4 cabside numbers and 4 BR arrows, located on the bodyside next to the cab doors. On receiving TOPS numbers, the old numbers were painted over and the new numbers located in the place of the LHS arrow, giving this odd appearance.
2 HSTs in BR Blue & Grey, by request. These are Power Cars only and have different numbers on either side for use in Formations. First is 43024 and 43025 from set 253012 43163 and 43181 for the NE/SW runs
I found it one day whilst reading an article on the different PTE liveries and imprinted it in my head because of how cursed it looked
Hmmm these HST Powercars seem to like finding themselves in awkward places for scenario creation. Now I'll have to find myself some sort of route / path out of here
Going back to Class 47s, here are some TOPS numbered 2-Tone Green 47s, and one with a twist! 47094. Notice the overpaint covering the old numbers 47203 with cabside numbers. Notice the BR Blue-background TOPS Data panel.
47256 with over-painted numbers and heavily weathered BR crest as appearing in 1974 47256 in 1976, now without BR crest, but unusually with domino headcode boxes
47256 caught fire in 1977 and repairs included a repaint. Suprisingly, this wasn't into BR Blue, but rather the loco received a unique livery - plain BR Green! I'm not sure if the loco also received BR arrows, but I would have thought so. If you have photographic proof - one way or the other - please let me know
I'm wondering if MT is a Crewe Works addition? Perhaps indicating something is empty? Fuel tank perhaps?
The 3 variations of 47256 have been updated and re-uploaded. What has changed? V1 - BR Crest and TOPS data panel removed. Bodyside livery over-paints added V2 - TOPS data panel removed.Bodyside livery over-paints added V3 - BR arrows removed Version 1 1974 Version 2 1976 Version 3 1977
A few more single Power Car HSTs for Formations, this time in InterCity Executive livery. I found it hard to find pics of PCs in this livery without the PC number on the nose end! 43014 / 43015 43160 / 43087
40035 in BR Green, around 1974. This loco was previously named 'Apapa'' but had lost its nameplate some time earlier, leaving a rust patch when the plate was. 40039 also as appearing after TOPS renumbering around 1974 20015 in 1974 after TOPS renumbering
Its the turn of Class 37s. 2 uploaded, both in BR Green with all-yellow ends and TOPS numbers, as they should have appeared in 1974. However, due to the limitations of the stock, I have had to leave them with Black headcodes and so I've dated them for sometime around 1976. 37176: 37238:
In 1965/66, Brush Works, Loughborough released 5 Brush Type 4s (D1702 - D1706) with non-standard engines. Rather than the Sulzer 12LDA28C twin-bank twelve-cylinder unit, they were fitted with a Sulzer V12 12LVA24 power unit. In service they preformed poorly and BR decided to get rid. By 1971, all 5 had been reengined with standard units. The V12s went to SNCF in France and were used in their BB68000 class. What if... BR had not replaced the engines and the locos had continued in service until at least the 1980s? Renumbered as Class 48, the small fleet (48001 - 48005) ended up at Stratford TMD, East London. 48002, the former D1703, is seen in BR Blue with black headcodes and SF Sparrows 48004, the former D1705, in BR Blue with yellow headcodes and SF Sparrows. It also carries the nameplate 'Sparrowhawk'. As 47117, this loco, in reality, was preserved and carries that name, so it seemed appropriate to use the name. I've put an 'easter egg' on one of the locos; if you find it, can you tell what it refers to?
I've just realised that putting the name 'Sparrowhawk' next to a Cockney Sparrow is a little bit inconsiderate!
Hello after a long break from train simulation I have just installed TSW5 and uploaded Peak Forest Green Days #1 from the in-game content creators club. The scenario uses a pair of class 20's and will collide with a stationary DMU at the next station. I have read elsewhere in this thread that this problem should have been fixed - Is this the case or have DTG uploaded an earlier version to their current site (The date on the file is showing as 25/05/2023.) Also how do I search for the required content - searching "pinzadave" only shows scenario files and not the livery creations in the in game search fucntion. Any help would be appreciated.
Hi, I had a look at it tonight. It all seems very strange. I cannot download my own scenarios onto TSW5 to test it, but I checked my TSW3 version (the original) and it seems OK. The start loco should be D300. I've re- uploaded it, so give it another try. As for the liveries, I'm as puzzled as you.
The scenario works now. Still have a problem searching for your liveries though. I think they are their , you just cant do an easy search for them using your "pizadave" name. Thanks Anthony.
Hi Anthony, I think the problem is that I don't use my username in the title of my uploads. There are a couple of guys who have a shorthand code for their uploads (G49) and (DJ) and its easy to search for their stuff, so I've taken their idea and will add it to all my uploads. Every upload will have the following included in the title: PD7 Search for that and you'll get all my stuff. You may have to apply Filter - Liveries. It may take a while to process everything as I've got a few hundred uploads! But I hope that helps you, Anthony, and anyone else who enjoys my stuff. Dave - PinzaDave, aka PD7
Hi Anthony, no problem. I've felt like giving up a few times myself. At the moment, I've discovered I cannot upload any scenarios on TSW5. I think its because I have formations with custom liveries. Well, of course I'm going to have formations with custom liveries! Why wouldn't I? At least I can still produce repaints and there seems to be no end in sight of those!!! Dave - search PD7 for my content
Had these floating around for a while, a couple of RTC-liveried Test coaches ADB 975397 (Test Car 2). This coach is preserved on the Great Central Railway and is usually parked up at Quorn. RDB 975280 (Test Coach Mercury)
