Is there any way to up the Res on a PS4 Railfan shot?? Or failing that any way to totally remove the HUD & the rest of the display to do a PS4 screen shot as these seem better quality? I'm submitting to the SC contest but I don't think I have a chance against the PC brigade & their super nice HQ stuff.
You can change the display settings in the game menu. You can also turn the HUD off in the settings menu so that nothing appears on the screen when you press the share button on the controller to take a screenshot. You can choose to turn off the HUD etc for DTL railfan screenshots in the menu.
You are getting 3840x2160 with a file size of 1.46MB, Im getting 1920x1080 @ 378kb so quite a difference, noticeable when zooming in.
Ahh, that might be because my display settings are on 4k as I'm on a PS4 pro or PS5. The standard PS4 can only do 1080 max.
I'll have a play around later, my Elite Dangerous shots seem better quality but they are taken with the PS share button.
The problem for me on console is that we are unable to zoom in. On console everything 20 metres from the front of the train is in low quality. Zooming would make pictures so much better for Xbox and PS, meaning the whole train and near scenery shows up in high quality.
You can zoom if you have a USB keyboard attached to the console. I took this one on PS4 whilst my train was at Gillingham station 700 yards away.
I'm on Xbox and I just use screenshots, but I can't remove the HUD entirely (the driving HUD) so I have to crop it, which offs the ratio.
