Don't forget the very best race course imho: Spa-Francorchamps (Belgium) including the most feared and dangerous curve, the Eau Rouge. Not far away from Köln.

Been there back when F1 was affordable. It was just after Senna's death, Schumi won and was disqualified after the race due to a wooden board underneath the car being too thin.

There was a Classic Cup before the F1 race, and I had the chance to see Stirling Moss, from my place at Kemmel.

There is technically a racetrack in game with Antelope Valley.

The now closed Saugus Speedway is sort of represented, but its missing its walls and such.

Knowing DTG, just like with the lack of passengers, they'll put out a racetrack with a single car :P

Strewth, that is some genius level ideas there cobber!

I agree completely but would go further. At Le Mans you should also have the choice of manning the pit stops and taking part in tire changes against the clock. Similarly with the tanks you should be able to drive the machine as well as operating the turret, firing the main gun and choosing between armour piercing and high explosive rounds.

Indeed! Similarly I hear the next Gran Turismo game is going to have the option to drive a Class 55 Deltic locomotive around Silverstone with Lewis Hamilton sitting next to you in the cab. This is currently the most requested feature amongst fans of that hugely successful racing franchise

Anyone who has seen your hilariously surreal gushing praise for TSW and 89% of the people who voted in this thread would agree on that but you can always be relied on to supply the LOLS !

  5. I think having some local landmarks that connect you to the route you are driving will give deep immersion.

As some love to tear the idea apart, let's remember these routes take us around the world and for those that haven't been to Sydney for example, an ability to walk around the Circular Quay of Sydney and explore some interesting things like the Opera House, ferries and such would give you your Sydney fix.

Yes it could be a separate DLC (and watch all these that are tearing this idea apart they would complain that the landmarks aren't featured in the release LOL) to buy or just contained in the special editions....

Anyway. With Linke Rheinstrecke it would be nice to have the content so you can go for a stroll and explore. There are castles and historic buildings everywhere.... Just adds to the interest of a route.

You know if I wanted to race at le mans in a video game, I could just play project cars 2 or forza motorsport.

Then he’ll ask Microsoft to add the possibility to do a break between two races to drive a train from Le Mans to Monza. Sadly for PC2 the studio is gone with the PC series and was acquired by Codemasters, what a shame…

I wouldn't oppose the idea of more collectables, or having more places to explore but some of the desires doesn't make since for a train simulator. There are other games for that. Racing at le mans in a train simulator makes no sense for instance

Exactly and I like the fact that DTG added bonus collectibles on SEHS or the training center but yes it’s literally called Train Sim World, if I want to race I play PC or Assetto Corsa.

Bus Simulator 21 has talking npc which I do think would be something that should in tsw for instance as trains are often very quiet when you are riding as a passenger. Although they really do need to fix the passenger behavior because it has been a mess for far too long

Perhaps when doing a service, rather than clicking from a menu, perhaps DTG could do what World Of Subways 4 does and start at a modeled depot, (doesn't have to be realistic) and talk to the schedule manager to start a shift rather than from a menu. I think that would be cool.

As in some sort of career mode? Would probably add more realism.

Yeah they need to fix passengers on strike first but why not maybe we’ll have interactions with NPCs. I mean we kinda have that already on ECML on some scenarios.

Bringing things back to reality for a bit, a few more puzzle like scenarios involving shunting, guarding etc would be cool. I played a scenario on ECML today called "Job Center" which involves you setting switches for AI drivers which I thought was pretty neat and a nice change of pace, just don't open the in game map while setting the switches as it just tells you which levers to pull.

More shunting puzzles are needed, there aren't many.

They can even be quite fun compared to the driving we usually do.

Maybe they want a scenario about a train that has to SPEED through the Bakerloo line, keeping its SPEED over 30, and if it's SPEED dropped it would explode! It could be called "The Train That Couldn't Slow Down"!

    (apologies to The Sinpsons :D)

Don't answer to spambots. Just report them. They are mostly new user profiles with only 1 or 2 posts, no DTL #1234 suffix (could change though, AI is learning quickly) and sometimes unbelievable "cute girl" avatars.

On some forums your first two posts need manual moderator's approval to prevent this.

  26. I think the editor will allow us to make complex scenarios? Not sure it will be implemented at the moment.

Has anyone seen the hot air balloon on the Koln Aachen route?

It just adds some interest to the WORLD.

Let's not write things here if we are just going to ridicule (against the rules etc) but light hearted fun and giggling is ok.

If you can (not directed at Jack) add some ideas for a puzzle.

A puzzle that has no DLC talking and nothing really extra-train (LOL) could be you are driving a train and suddenly the brakes apply. Ie you lost all your air.

So, you have to walk to the back of the train. This is probably easier to do on US freight than Europe etc.

Also a shunting puzzle (Maintalbahn maybe?) can throw you a couple of twisters to work out.

Also possibly could have some hot engine scenarios with the Clinchfield or Cajon Pass etc.

Pretty much this, graphics don't bother me too much, TSC still looks decent. The way you cal walk around the environment is one of the reasons why I primarily play TSW now, that and the full 24 hour timetables

  29. Shunting/switching can be a puzzle too. Especially if just two tracks/one switch.

    But I get your point.

Wouldn't it be good to have a NPC that actually talks?

And then a few castles (like Linke Rheinstrecke) where you can explore? In Meissen in Dresden route you can walk up to an observation point.

  30. For me the physics in TSC are like a 1930s car after driving a 2000 model car.

Everything about TSC I cannot stand although I have some 4 dozen or so routes. After using TSW I just cannot use TSC anymore. I tried with GEML as that is my absolute favourite (the Japanese Tokyo Ueno one is good but the stutters and many things on TSC engine is holding it back) and I just wonder why am I doing it?

    No thank you.

    No more TSC.

TSW has the best physics (as a real locomotive driver I can attest to this) and best implementation of rail in game I have ever seen.

tsc has good physics and simulation if you buy certain 3rd party content. Steam trains for example have manual firing in tsc. There is armstrong powerhouse. There is also the pro range content. It is usually the vanilla content that has wonky physics.

And there's light puzzle solving elements in many Mario games, that doesn't mean those are puzzle games.

In fairness, TSC does do physics and sounds rather well, and exceeds TSW by miles when it comes to steam.

Can we have a third-person shooter section too.... or maybe stealth?

I'd love to play as Ratchet or Sly Cooper.

  35. Physics I strongly disagree, freight trains are awful in TSC. The physics are VERY simple and it doesn't work like a normal train does and TSW gets that right perfectly.

Steam is yes in a way, and I'd say why it has a full set is because it is easy to do. I think TSW is very complicated and over time as DTG has proven over the years it will happen. And I think they got the balance right at the moment. I enjoy steam too BUT with only two routes in the game AND with limited sales potential I see it as a long game. Around 2027 you should see it come to fruition. Maybe not 100%.

But I just cannot go back to TSC. I can't. No way. :)

It's like someone saying you have a choice between a late model Hyundai/Kia/Mazda/Toyota and an old 1970s Vauxhall and similar models etc.

You are taking a small sample and applying it to all which doesn't work. Just because freight is poor means everything is poor?

Also how do you know if it's really easy to make in tsc?

With the early TSC stuff the physics are a bit questionable but all the newer stuff tends to be a good enough standard. TSW also does physics well, yes, but not one bit when it comes to steam. Even with the tings we can do as players the steam locos in TSW are like battery powered children's trains compared to TSC's finest. I do hope DTG go back to pursuing steam in TSW as it COULD be done very well, if they put the time and effort in.

I agree that I struggle to play stuff that is in TSW back in TSC, however for the steam and BR diesels which aren't in TSW TSC still offers a good experience. Overall TSW is certainly the sim I prefer.

I would take the 70s Vauxhall personally! ;)

I think a better comparison would be a Jaguar E-type compared to a Jaguar F-type.

I think we already have a puzzle in game which takes you over the map to explore new sites, and this is the collectible hunt. I remember doing it on Dresden-Riesa and me discovering places I wouldn't go to when driving on trains only.

I think this is nice to explore the beautiful created maps by something like this (also actually gives Dovetail Games a symbiotic purpose to create these locations - which is good) but on the other side already mystery enough for TSW and kind of has the same purpose as what you ask for.

Really would wish that DTG gets more essential things into the game like passenger announcements on every new route or the working EBuLa screen in german locos, which some people wait years for.

But also take a look at the things DTG sold TSW4 with like the suspensions improvements or improvements to the PC Editor, which either are not there yet or come way too late. Formation designer just was released a couple of weeks ago, but sold as a selling point for TSW4 back in September.

If you want more mysteries and puzzles to solve, it's really better to look for in a different game. I can recommend you one especially for mysteries and the story even is has a futuristic mechanic train as node point to reach locations. It's the Syberia franchise (especially part 1 and 2).

If you're into tough puzzles, astonishing scenery and well trains, I highly recommend that.

Hats off to anyone, who solves the game without taking a look into the manual for the help guidance. :D

Yes, think so, too. ChatGPT opened a lot of possibilites last year. But looks like we're far away from that in Train Sim World. But even without ChatGPT, I remember talking passenger with let's say 100 prerecorded audio files for each of the hundreds of NPCs back in the Godfather game I played almost 20 years ago. So, it should be possible to get at least a few NPCs to talk in TSW as well.

I think this should be implemented as the guard mode like in the one scenerio at the Glossop Line. But not only for one scenario and one route, rather a genuine game mode like free roam or the passenger ride.
