not sure on accuracy of route (serviced area) but the 101 and 31/1 is fit for the year also

 

Will there be any Spirit of Steam steam railtours on other routes? Like let's say NTP, it is set in 80's, so steam locos are already not in regular use, therefore maybe a railtour (or more than one) using LMS Jubilee Class would be great?

 

The thing with the uk diesels & shunters is, that dtg would build them from scratch. All uk diesels from the br era are dual braked in tsw. Sometimes it might be enough to just go for vacuum only, but also the cab had changes on some of the locos.

Most of them got out of the factory vacuum only braked. Refurbishment to dual took place in the late 60s into the 70s. (Depends on the type)

To see it positive, this is also a chance for locomotive addons etc. Dtg could make some retro dlcs with the clssses pre tops (D5000 etc.). Or just add them to a transition era route.

 

I would love to see that, hopefully (maybe) they will be a feature on the Jubilees.
Mainly LMS 4-6-0 Jubilee Class 5596 (no. 45596) Bahamas.

 

There is more to the differences than just the livery also. I was told that the current 08 ingame has a slightly different breaking system to those used in the late 50s. We wont be seeing any diesels in SoS unless via the scenario planner.

I would also like to know about the run around procedures though. I'm guessing a new loco from shed will come and take the next service out. Guess we will have to wait to see on Thursday.

How will immersion controls on consoles adapt to the steam locos? Is there anything that’s radically changed?

 

Will the steam trains and rolling stock sub onto other routes even if it’s just a rail tour or on WSR

 

probably not..

 

If steam is layered onto WSR, I would think that they would be generally static as I believe the entire WSR route is set around a diesel gala.. but I might be wrong..

 

Will there be any other locomotives add on as DLCs like a Beyer Garratt or the LMS 10000 and 10001 diesel locomotives?

 

Will the 8F have a MKII consist for use with scenario planner?

 

Will the Jubilee be able to be used in other routes [like west somerset railway and east coastway] as railtours?

 

Would there be a beginners, intermediate, or expert driving options.

 

This looks great, But my recollection of stations in the 50s is grime, grime, and more grime. It all looks very spick and span.

 

You mean "braking systems"? I mean, that would be weird if loco had a system to damage it...

 

Are the particle effects limited to reacting with SOS and future routes, ie Scenario Planner with a Steam Loco on WSR would mean smoke not reacting to bridges or tunnels?

 

Will the automatic fireman be animated to the point where its physically showing what its doing?

Like shoveling coal from the tender to the firebox, adjusting the valves for the injectors to add more water and so on...

 

Will the steam trains layer on to other routes such as GWE or NTP

what can we expect with starting up the Jubilee? Will we have the ability to shovel coal, monitor water levels etc?

 

Are platform departure boards implemented in this route? Since the pres crew have already made a design for TVL, I don't see why you couldn't implement that same design across this route!

What are the consists for the 8F and Jubilee?

For example. Light loco? 4XMK1's? Even Tender first consists?

 

I would like to know if there is any list of appropriate whistle signals.

 

In the late 50's it would be appropriate for major stations to have train information to be written onto wooden boards that were then slotted into a large frame

Interesting to see the stream tonight. Not sure if this is still the right place to ask questions, but in case it is:

• Can you switch off the Lock/Unlock doors feature on passenger trains? It seems a shame to go to all the trouble of having all the authenticity from the 1950s, but with passenger doors operated by some much later technology. (Yes I know this is already true of the 1980s "BR Blue" routes as well, and probably some others, but it grates more here).
• I know it was said that the fireman aspect is still having work done on it, but is there some way to tell the AI fireman to ease off on the coaling? I'm assuming (but I know nothing about driving a steam train) that when nearing the end of a run, the fireman would ease up a bit? Because I'm assuming you don't need so much the boiler pressure and it will just blow noisily through the safety valve.
• Are the animated cows simulated using SimuGraph?

 

Can you please explain why your loading guage is small, microscopic compared to a North American locomotive, and explain why choose the 8f for freight compared to a tank engine.

 

Will they provide Railtours on ECW SEHS Cathcart Circle Possibly BML?

 

That is a matter of history so far as loading gauge is concerned, not DTGs fault.

As regards the 8F, well yes a smaller tender loco or tank engine like a Jinty or 4MT might have been preferable but from a marketing viewpoint, what are people more likely to buy in a future DLC.

 

Is there a keyboard shortcut for getting rid of this part of the HUD (just like [CTRL]+[5] gets rid of the speedometer)?

 

I would be nice to get a see into the guards compartment inside the jubilee carriages for the next stream

 

Question for next weeks stream is:

1) How soon may we seeing manual firing be introduced? Are we expecting months more development and additions to this loco or are we looking longer and on a new loco?

2) Are all fireing features totally disabled? As it looks like water level doesnt change is there any point in refueling?

2.5) Will we see the AI fireman using the injectors for example? Will be a shame to miss out on those sounds and effects and their effects on boiler pressure.

3) How much control does the blower and dampers have on steam generation?

4) Can you explain in more detail the breaking mechanics as that looks like one of the main driving challenges. Also is there any slack on the couplings?

 

Because a lot of the tunnels and bridges date back to the Victorian age and there simply isn't the space or money to make them bigger. At the end of the day, it's not really worth the cost to re-engineer the entire nation's railways to fit bigger trains.

Hi is there an option to reduce the amount of times the locos have to use the safety valve? It looks like the pressure is always too high whenever the regulator is not being uses, like the fireman is pumping coal in all the time regardless of steam needs.

It would be a shame if the safety valve sound is constantly drowning out other sounds
