Liveries Rail 200. Preparations And Ideas For September.

Hello there, can I just say I adore the 314, I like the Retro look. I feel the design language in the 80s was perfect in application to stock.
Good stuff, are you looking at making a Rail 200 livery as TG08 could use someone of your skill.
I’m sure all members would too.

Great work and some lovely screen shots.

Okay well, if can quickly explain what we are looking for or even speak to TG08 as he will know what loco or even coach stock.
He’s assembling the scenarios and we’re looking for liveries most Rail 200 Themed as well as others for Ai.

The idea is to pull all creators work together like The Great Gathering but on TSW5. So anything goes really as long as it’s creative.
But if you speak to TG08 he can give you more details about his needs now.

Yet the main aim is to include all people of all skill and tastes to share liveries so these can be added when TG08 needs and also for possible adding more than one person livery for the TGG themed scenario.

We can share and then enjoy walking around the scenario looking at the Communities fantastic work.
Something to celebrate as a community for the coming Railway 200 event.

That’s all the Team are looking for, the community to be involved with sharing their liveries etc for a community event on TSW5.

And hey looking at more of what you do I wonder if there is something you could add. So your more than welcome to DM at any time if you have any further questions or ideas.

Hey I feel bad as haven’t seen it yet, I may do some reading when I get time. Are we okay for NSE as a Brand not just colours, as this like many other TOCs I have wanted to do but worry like you often have.

I heard you were thinking about making a livery for R200 trainsimplayer . I have some options for liveries as Lee has already explained above.

AI Traffic:

Class 87: InterCity Swallow (like 87002, but maybe with a R200-themed twist?),
Mk3: InterCity Swallow (like LSL's Mk3 rake).

R200 Exhibits:

Could be any UK diesel locomotive, electric locomotive (just the Class 87 so far), DMU, EMU. It's your choice. As I have discussed with Lee and JPlayz last night, there is a lack of DMU liveries made thus far, so that's an option worth considering.

However, it is your choice. All we are asking for is a R200-themed livery on any piece of UK rolling stock that is specified above . And also, there is no rush, so take your time. Make the livery to the best of your ability of course .

Is the NSE brand not just the colours? The red, white and blue running down the full length of the train? Is there a logo or something because I couldn't see one on the pictures I used.

May as well put it here despite it being found already, but I decided to make an NSE-based class 313 livery. Of all the operators in the UK's history, Network Southeast is arguably the most iconic. A striking but simple livery that suited all of its stock.

Now that I think about it, I probably should have made the 'Network Southeastern' livery for the 465 instead, but oh well.

Thank you TG08. The MK3 coaching stock is something that was first brought up and so I will investigate.
These was to still along side 43 803 and other that’s will follow shortly. To be available at your disposal.
I wanted some fancy elegant work for MK3s and so I will look into why we do not these now.

Yeah. That and the fact that I believe it was made for the Railway 200 event.

 

No worries at all Lee. Just before you do anything, I meant loco-hauled Mk3s (from Preston-Carlisle), not HST Mk3s (from Great Western Express/Midland Main Line) .

However, it would be great if you get that set finished for 'Pen y Darren' though, as when it is in Wembley Yard within the scenario, it looks weird with the GWR coaches lol .

I can’t agree with you more on Icons, something I’ve always wanted to is. NSE,,could I make one fully Branded do you know?.
And your Rail 200 logo, if I may the livery is looking great as per, but I see your using the number 2 as did in my earlier work.
I soon found out this mistake when adding text. So if you haven’t already seen the step by step tutorial on a Rail 200 logo then it may help avoid any problems later on if considering adding text to the Rail 200 Logo.

Other than that your doin some DMUs, really needed right now.

I could be wrong as I’m going of memory form operational stock. So early slam door stock like 310s and 311s.

I may start on something then, and I think your okay as colours and shapes can not be copyrighted. Only a Brand Logo if that too meets copyright requirements to be classed as so. Ie a license if I understand what I read correctly. So again don’t quote me.

I need to start doing more links as I can’t do them. But for the Logo Tutorial then head to The Works Shed and you shall find it there.
You won’t miss it, it very recent too.

I have heard that colours and shapes can't be trademarked, only brands, but I don't think Network Southeast even has a logo. I'm not old enough for this. I missed out!

Here's a screenshot from a livery I did last year of Great Northern's 313064, with an NSE logo on it . It is on CC as well, I'm sure it has been reported (in the past), but not taken down (yet) .

 

Hey I may be older member here I wouldn’t know with out asking. But I only knew about what I do because of TSW, until then I knew a little about trains but I couldn’t fathom what it was all about. I lived in my own world as kid. Only now am I aware of what existed in the past.

So when I say I am slow I mean that. Everyday there’s is also something amazing to learn.
Hence you may have missed out like me but it’s never to late to learn what we have missed.
We look to the past to learn where we went wrong so we can put it right in the future which is now, but now has just passed.
Why because the hands of time pass even as I write this, when you get it, that too will be in the past. Gone.

So don’t mis out,,,the clock is ticking my friend.

I also decided to make a NSE Livery, but on something that never wore any BR Colours.
This ain’t apart of the Rail200 thing but as we are talking about NSE Liveries I might as well put it on here

 

Is it worth the risk though? If you could email the company with the rights to the NSE logo, then at least that's a start .

I know we haven’t got any YET!. Why tho surely DTG would like to be involved and include Fans wanting be involved.
Having a set Railway 200 Decal would most certainly help others that may want to make a livery or even share it here.

Meaning if a user can not make a Railway 200 logo then we will not see their work.
And why again I made the tutorial so others can be involved.

Why should anyone miss out if it’s a National Event. I have been knocking on DTG doors, but like the rest all remain muted.
I’m trying to help others as we all are here.

So yes I will support and will endeavour to see if DTG would or like to get involved with this.

I agree. DTG have been very quiet on Rail 200. That's a bit odd for a company which makes content on railways

 

Hey this is the importance of a reliable source of information. With out knowing why units have things missing means understanding a lot of what went on during a restructuring process as an example. We seen this when Avanti took over the Virgin WCML contract.
Runs to 2033 I think. Virgin livery was still on 390 sets.

I struggle to get all sides as a source of reference so I am only working of what is intended for that period. This is so if something is at the hight of it’s success the fleet will look mint, where later on they may not if they have changed ownership etc.

Could even be a simple case of you see it without. But then is booked in for new Decals that night.
Why do I know this, because we would do the same with coaches. Patch them up and then work on them over night.
The next day all nice and shiny. And as Intended as a fleet identity. Can’t have a scruffy looking fleet, and so would do all I could to get them in when operational gaps would allow me.

Meaning running around for a day or two with a scratch or peeling decals before I get it booked in.

I have to correct you here. The VT livery was stripped from the 390s in 2020, but the voyagers would still have the livery until 2023
