I know,,what I have been trying to assemble behind the scenes but everyone is saying nothing.
Not even a friendly hello from any DTG staff members. If I trust in my gut feelings then I’d say something is going on.
I am and we are not in that loop tho.

So all I can say is I know nothing and this is just another case of speculation on what any person or company is or not doing.
We can ask them tho and why I did approach DTG Matt. But not heard back.

Shame a, as I will not push something if no one is interested.
That’s a Dream but so is this project now, a Dream coming true because it’s not about glory but about users and the community.
I Never thought I’d be speaking to so many great people here.

So forget if no company wants to get involved.
Where having fun and where together.

I decided to have a little practise run at making the Railway 200 logo, so decided to wrap D1661 (WSR 47) in it. Also includes a little flag just to populate it a bit. Not really trying hard but it's a nice little extra for WSR or any scenarios - also in BR Green, which is a break from IC or BR Blue.

I've got a bunch of old BR-Era liveries for the (WCL) 150 if that's of any interest. I could easily slap the logo on them.
If memory serves I have GMPTE, Regional Railways (Sprinter) and one other.

I also have NSE and Connex for the 465 and the obvious liveries for the 314, although i'd assume someone else is on the former.
Happy to do any EMUs/DMUs, though.

 

If you are willing to do any of those, then that's great . Anything will do.

I like it! The logo is good!

It is a good idea to practice with the logo on an existing livery. I might do that myself now, if the livery allows for it.

 

Hello Folks.

Okay I have some bad news to report. And I will be as Transparent with the truth.
This is so you know the situation and what my overall goal was. And for me to end that avenue of communication.

So the Dream. I wanted to poll together a number of companies and TOCs This was so the legal side was covered as all theses companies was working for the benefit of Rail Fans and to raise money for Railway 200 Charity partners.

That meant having DTG to make a Greatest Gathering DLC. By having TOCs on board I wanted them to back a livery I made so Hornby was able to be involved with DTG. Hornby could make the livery as a new development studio.
I know Hornby is struggling but if they could be partners with DTG then could Hornby make all Locos as DLCs?.
A new business model for a dying firm (Hornby) we cant see another icon of the British Toy Industry disappear.

So as you can see Hornby to seen this as a good opportunity for their company to survive but in a gaming sense.
Imagine the sale of a Hornby Building my first railway on say PS5. Kids love consoles and love building games.
Then Hornby making Locos we so wish to see on TSW but don’t. If Hornby provided these then you could be seeing what you have always wanted on TSW. And why I asked a member once if this was to happen would users of the franchise buy?. Then could this be a life line to Hornby?. Could those with a passion for Rail and in a high position of power help the industry as a whole?.

Railway 200 could assist Hornby or possibly have an open competition for a livery to be made into a model for real or again on TSW5.
It brings a number of companies together to provide Fun for Rail Fans and to help Hornby out and raise public profile of those involved in order to raise money for charities.

Why I made a few liveries and sent them to a number of companies.
These being GBRTT and GBRf. I have tried to get them to see the possible advantages of my idea.
But I don’t have the power but they do. To pool together as companies can do for a charitable cause.
The sale of TGG DLC and anything that Hornby was able to provide for DTG, (it’s a big ask New business Model) or anything normal in nature. Models.

All or most of the proceeds from sales of DTG DLC or Hornby loco/ Model would go to Railway 200 and it’s charities.
Yet after over 3 weeks waiting around anxiously then today I have the final nail.
That’s all I will say, but from my perspective then it’s very poor that many in high positions don’t see the potential for Fans and for Railway 200, even them GBRTT who deal with the event themselves haven’t bothered.
And because I never got a simple answer if I was okay to place these in game for Fans
Then sadly that’s four class 66’s to remain in the back of the storage yard.
Couldn’t even get a simple answer from these companies that say they care for Fans. Do they?, then why will this be the last we see of the above.
And do ask myself why do I bother. Well because it’s not about me about, it’s about fun and fun within the community.

So looks like it’s down to us now folks. No Help from GBRTT and no Interest from GBRf. Fine I’ll just implement the design on my own company brand. Leave GBRf blank if they don’t want to be involved if that is their choice. I will not push now.

I will approach Hornby tho as one last crazy idea. Never give up I say. Why?, Well Trains where considered a crazy idea once because people thought their heads would fall off at speeds. How ludicrous a? that’s a crazy thought and idea of what would happen, its why I don’t follow the masses

Sorry to break this news to you all.
Again it was my Dream that others started sharing too. That being TG08 and Jplayz. And just recently some of the community too.

I told GBRf that we too are a small team, but if we want success then we will not give up.
For Fans and to see this through hopefully as community now we’re on our own.

So come on folks and my Team, it’s bump, let’s not hit at speeds and fly of the road. Let’s smoothly pass of it so we can continue on our journey and goals together.
For this I need to compose myself, it’s hit me after the ups and downs then ups and then this final Nail.

Is DTG our last hope?. Again I have reached out in a non official route.
But again as I said last night. All are Mute. Not a whisper or a peep.

In the past that means two things, lips sink ships or the a company or person is to crazy to not see a good opportunity.
Or am I the one at fault because I am to crazy to know when to keep my mouth shut.
As have I too missed the right opportunity to keep my lips closed because I didn’t see.

Hey Lee,
Well we do have Derby in the game, even if it isn't Litchurch Lane. So, could we potentially make a scenario on MML for the Greatest Gathering? It would be close enough. It's a shame as Hornby and even DTG could probably do with a bit more advertising. Imagine if you saw an advertisement for TSW on TV or in a newspaper alongside Hornby? Hornby are known to rail enthusiasts so wouldn't this boost DTG's sales? I don't know. Maybe I'm just being unrealistic, I'm not sure. But considering how DTG haven't even announced anything and the main event for Rail 200 at Litchurch Lane is in just a few months, it is a shame. So much lost potential. I hope they do do something, but I don't have much hope. It seems it's up to the community to fill the gaps again. I will stop ranting just so I can spare you all a headache.

As a side note, Lee, we already have some content released already and we have more to release. So keep your head held high. You managed this far, we can go on for longer

Just a small update from me:

It is a shame that no company wants to play ball, but we respect your effort, Lee. Hopefully Hornby will be more willing.

Also, while I'm not sure how you thought of it, the Railway 200 logo tutorial in the Works Shed is incredibly helpful! I just tried it on 66023 and found it incredibly easy to follow! Unfortunately, it doesn't look good on 66023 (like a special version of a special version of a class 66 - it doesn't work) so it probably won't go up on Creator's Club.

 

Good call, I said to the Team that will when I get time now to work on all classes of loco etc.
A variety and also to see what can be accomplished by others by thinking the same.

So yes your being creative and thinking out side the box. Something different something unique. Something done by you.
Have fun with it even work to finalise a perfect design. Don’t settle.

We want the best for the Project but as Members we also want you to be at your best.

I've had a look through my Creators Club creations (I do have more offline but it's a lot to look through), and there isn't much I think works as a "heritage livery" / R200.

I could 'merge' a few liveries together into a set of 'British Rail Heritage', with a few liveries layed out on one loco. A bit like the Rheingold one in Germany.

My picks would be:
47: BR Green + IC Executive + BR Blue + BR Blue Large Logo
37: Intercity + BR Blue + Regional + Freightliner

And then from there I'll see if I find a spark of creativity for a dedicated R200 livery on something.

Both ends are done, now time to move into the middle.

The Green will be BR Blue (small logo, with a lighter shade than the LL) and the red will be BR Green. Can't have BR Blue next to BR Blue, of course.

The original livery was Intercity Executive (specifically 47612 Titan) so nothing changed there except the ScotRail Stripe:

 

One sec mate you hit the nail on the head of what I want. I will explain if I can in a min if not tomorrow as unfortunately I’m in a meeting lol.

Okay I’ll push on as this is very close to a route and theme I was taking but with rolling stock or HST or 390 sets I have 3 in development.
I am mixing modern with old so the complement each other. So greens with white and maroon etc. Different past regions and eras.

It sits perfectly with the Rail 200 theme because it’s taking reference from our rail heritage.
This is key and what again is in the works but has not processed due to now a lot of Project Management to be done.

So I commend you creativity I really do because like they say two great minds think alike.
And you have hit the nail on the head, absolutely perfect and you have my full attention and support.
I will speak to my team members about your credentials if your willing to take some time discussing your work and helping your finalises it.
We want to support those that are working hard to provide something special different and Rail 200 themed.

And you got it in one. So yes you have my full attention and support.

Seriously I’d be proud of what you have created. A Good creative mind there.

Hey if I was then I’d suggest you play around or make a roughy livery. Sit back and the work out what works and what doesn’t.
May take some time but trust me I do it and it does work. Don’t push the idea let the ideas speak to you.

Then you can remake with a clear vision of what does work rather than what’s doesn’t. Ie work the problem first before the problem works you.

It’s not a race and why I am not pumping a livery out every day. I take my time because I want them to be right.
Especially if they are to go on display. So please your ideas are great, but don’t ruin the end product by rushing a good idea.
Let it grow until you feel it’s right and when you can do no more to improve it. Then it’s ready.

Just some tips as it’s how I go about my work. Enjoy it not rush it.

Just doing some brushing up.

To this I will say yes it is a shame about the missed opportunity. I don’t understand why a company would say it cares when clearly they don’t. It was for some main industry leaders to come together for the very reason you say. It’s brings them more spotlight and across a number of markets shares. Again if DTG did routes and Hornby made locos. As Hornby has licenses set up and have all the model data too.

It was just an idea that I asked if they like then would they assist in making it happen.
They have the rights and the ability to communicate with other’s companies to build relationships up. I made many connections and working relationships up with small businesses in the Travel Industry. I can only approach these companies and TOCs with the idea. It’s only them that can do something as I can not speak on any companies behalf.
But you and many see the potential it’s just a shame those in a position of power feel the same but say they can’t do anything.
How can a company not email another company for building up a better public profile and support the rail industry for the benefit of rail fans.

And raise money by the sales of a Greatest Gathering. If DTG made that and we had all locos that would be there for real.
Then look at all the mixed stock you would get to use in other DLCs as they are now and to come.

It’s interesting too as I make and treat my liveries like models and a member on here said about make like a model collection.

Meaning he would collect. So if Hornby did get in the games markets then right away we have someone wanting a collection.
The question is tho is there a wider market audience.
Market research you see.
It’s the only way we would now is by asking the community that direct questions.

If DTG and Hornby worked together. Hornby pumped out various locos etc. Would people buy.
As yes this ain’t good news. More so because I could not get a simple answer if I could use their brand for what I was doing. Only to cover my back on CC. I get so worried at times as you know.
But my point is that I am perfectly aware that no company will work together if there is no profit or benefits. Even if the idea seems nice.
It’s always about money.

Meaning Money stops man from processing. Hence we lose many great things due to money.
How many locos are sat awaiting restoration but can’t because of money.

I feel society and fans of rail have no right to lose their heritage or livelihoods (If Hornby went under) all because of money.
And so money is money but people matter more.

I’d go above and beyond to help the people, give them hope.

But if I can’t get an actual organisation that deals with events to start an event for there own benefits, then sadly I have no Hope.
And that’s that. So sorry I had a little rant. Clearly I am quite frustrated.

Yet I just have to let it go for the benefit of everyone that comes here.
We should be having fun like we have and look what we have.

That’s all that matters as I say. You and the community.
The common man working together against the elites.
And with that I will end this and move on. (Not starting negative rants again)

Hello I was meaning to get back to you.

Been so busy and I had something for you. Some photos of the Beluga on the apron in Airbus, but I can’t send privately.

Anyway yes it’s one of them ain’t it. Out of my hands. I tried and maybe I should push, but why if they haven’t got time for then I haven’t got time for them. I’d look like a fool and get me no where.
But no I have made my own personal decision to cut off any communication with these parties.
Like I say to you personally. If I am wasting my time on something or someone why continue that. I will close it and move on.
Time is precious even the time we all give each other here.

Every sec you give me or I you is the most valuable thing a human can give. Not money not gold. But time.
And I am here. We all are. So yes I will not waste time at my age

Learn and move on so that’s what I am doing. If any company misses out then that’s a mistake they have to learn.

Just wanted to cover that part of your message.

The tutorial, well I have you and Mr Mystery (Jplayz) to thank for that. A you mentioned the Pink lines. And MM was also looking for assistance. So I made it for Him and for others with inspiration from you.
Ie do the tutorial with the Pink reference lines if you thought they was helpful being there.
So I thank you guys for that.

It’s yours and all now for ease of reference.

Your 66 I love it. The Flag the Flag. Work with that idea, they give could results if used in a design right.
I’d like to offer more assistance because again it’s amazing work that you do. I am just so tight for time these days running the project and being here. I need to find a good balance.
So the Team is working on something to make this a more enjoyable and streamlined experience and a time saving one at that, for you that visits here and for the Team.

We discussed these matters of project work and time here. We need and want to be here but a lot of work behind the scenes to has to happen. So again it’s important for the the Team to have this balance for the content you see be of interest or value.
If we’re gonna spend time on something then need to right the first time to save valuable time on correct any errors.

Speaking of errors, I think I have woken up a different person today. I can tell by my long winded responses.

I'm happy to keep creating liveries and can co-ordinate that with you guys if you'd like.

I'm actually enjoying TSW again so I'm in a good position to do this, and I'd like to do a little to commemorate 200 years of the railways on which I travelled virtually everywhere growing up and thus means a lot to me. So, no problem at all.

 

Oh fantastic news, The Team will be delighted hearing this. Again I spoke to the Team last night about your work and if you was happy to continue being here then we would help you. Now we know and so I and the Team as well as other community members can assist you in achieving your goals.

It’s also worth mentioning you enjoying TSW more, I am too after many ups and downs. So I can relate to your comment.
Could it be because I am here and by being here get that motivation even positivity from others?. Probably yes.
You too could be feeling more positive about TSW because by being here you feel part of something.
Again I personally do but these are just my thoughts and opinions on why I feel more positive and have passion to overcome hurdles.

For me that’s the support from my Team and community members here that are supportive as friends too.

So you could say it’s about liveries but about supporting and being more positive around others.

A quick announcement.

After some discussion the Team have decided to open a new thread. The new name of this thread is The Rail 200 Print Shed.

Odd title I know, but so am I

This thread has become a little confusing for some community members and for the Team to keep track of what’s what etc.
So by having a new thread hopefully it will make this process of you showing us completed work in a easier simpler manner.
And for us as Team focus on one task at a time. I will be away so hopefully this will make life easier for The Team as much as you the community.

So I am delighted that TG08 and JPlayz will be running with the new thread, as then I can be here more on this thread too.
I hope those that visit here and have become comfortable support us in our decision. This thread will still be the same.

It’s still has its functions because its about preparing and ideas.

Have I understood correctly that this thread isn't changing, but any liveries to go on TG08's scenario(s) will be requested from the new print thread? If a livery that we're making isn't required over there yet then we post it over here as usual?

 

So, if you have a R200-themed livery on a modern DMU that you wish to enter into the print thread, then you would put it in there.

However, if it isn't part of that category, then you would put it in here as normal .

I felt it would make things easier for all but this thread to remain the same.

The purpose of the The Rail 200 Print Shed is to have some fun with photo mode and find completed work that we as a Team need for the project.
It simplifies our Jobs and again is a place users can pop up with not much chat going on.
This thread is for Preparations and Ideas. The new thread is for work that has been Prepared and it complete.

So you have nothing to fear.
And to be fair I have made this change after our little spat.
I took the good from you remarks. That being no one wants to go through pages and pages of unwanted dialogue. (177pages).

Now the Project and the community has a new simple page. Photos liveries but no deep conversations.
Fun fast and punchy.

And for clarity when you say go to TG08 scenarios, then yes but ONLY to Rail 200 Project. NOT his own scenarios.
This has been discussed privately and I have no control over what TG08 does away from R200 Project.
Meaning any work you do place up here or on the new thread is ALL for the project, and NOT individual work.

Sorry if this has unsettled you. But again please don’t worry. No one is going anywhere.
We said we would support those that come here.

The Team will continue to do this across both Rail200 themed threads.

Looking at JPlayz 390 and I do like it. I feel it’s just missing something. I will speak to him about possible refinements. I will pass him my work that is similar in design. I have a lot on. 66 (Personal work) DMUs, 390s, 43s, Rakes for R200 Project.

I'll try posting an update in here after six as I have to do something beforehand. As a hint, I discussed it with you and Lee the other day

 

You know where to find me I feel there is something as well. Whether that is because of the split and it looks to bare on one side, or whether it's something else, I'm not quite sure.

 

That is a kind way of putting it. Bare. This needs to change and hopefully the new measures in place will help fill them gaps.
I have held off on busting myself to do liveries as it was for the community that would make it work. Not me single handed.
A Risk yes, but you have to take risks to find rewards.

As I said yesterday I have failed somewhat to react or give this project a clearer direction on what’s is needed.
We know what the focus is tho after the meeting. So let’s put some wheels in motion, hopefully we have one wheel attached with the new thread.

We can only do what we can, it’s up to the community now

Yes we need some time to discuss properly with what task you and I have. I need structure here and at home as do you.
So yes will speak about this shortly. We’re stuck for time so we need a clear goal now, we haven’t got time to correct any misunderstanding again.

On a side note this was meant to be fun and it is trust me, but man it takes a lot of time.
