Probably for the best. As I did in the beginning, I’m tempted to ask for proof under every post, but what’s the point.
The vectron is not only for Germany.. So nothing is locked. The warning lights are needed to drive into other lands. Belgium should be one.
Yes, but you tell the Vectron through the left MFD what country you are in. It changes all sorts of logic in the background, like for example braking behaviour, etc, hence it can also change the applicability of certain switches in the cab, like for example the warning lights. On the MS, they may be relevant for certain countries it is certified to drive in, however, not relevant for others, like for example Germany.
And we think the exact opposite and have proof as well I could quote my text about you making claims without evidence, but I am sure you would still ignore it. Hence I will follow above advice from others…
Exactly the same has happened to me on the Vorarlberg route too when I was not so familiar with the route. The reason was that I passed a "Schutzstrecke"(protective section) that means an overhead contact line area with a different circuit (I hope DeepL translated that correct...) It's also used in the UK, see here under "Neutral Section" Ihttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Overhead_line Perhaps you passed such a sign? Normally you should set the circuit braker (or MCB) to off before passing such an area and afterwards on again. If you don't do that, the MCB is set to off automatically. The message "select the country" is there also when you don't pass a border to another country with another current system. And as the Vectron worked until this point, it shouldn't really matter which country setting is selected.
About console players not being able to confirm AFB speed on the controller: DTG Matt said they didn't find a free button on the controller to do that. However: If I'm correct operation shift + D-pad up is not being used at the moment. So it's perfectly possible. And console players need to use operation shift to change the AFB speed anyway, so it would be logical button combination.
Matt, is there any chance that the Eanos wagons can be fixed for Xbox as those artifacts/shapes are still appearing by the bogies. As such, I'm not playing any Vectron services featuring Eanos wagons for now as it ruins the immersion and quite frankly it's really odd to see.
I see none of the cab 2 issues in the Vectron were addressed in the last update. Seeing as you change ends in alot of Vectron service I was hoping these would be addressed.
I debated with myself on this issue, I hemmed and hawed, should I or should I not? I Lost the argument and am now posting this here for the community. I ran the two scenarios Linked below after the updates were pushed through. And no change with these two scenarios so far. I also ran the one-scenario several times several different ways before the Patches. As for any other scenarios or timetable routes that maybe effected, I'm unsure as of yet. ----- ----- -----
your problem is you ran through the neutral section and the mcb opened. you just need to close it again
I will run it again, Both of them and I saw no "neutral section" (and what does that mean? First I heard of it "Is this the neutral zone between the federation and the Romulans?") that it opened the MCB, if you saw at what time stamp by all means let me know. Not to mention the very start of the Special Delivery weird black artifact that is there.
A neutral section is an area between two different areas of OHLE power supply. During this short space the breaker trips to protect the electronics on the train. Until you reclose the circuit breaker, you won't be pulling any power from the line.
**Thank you for the clarification. I will run the two scenarios again and I will watch for the neutral section, and update as needed. Both here and the videos are as needed. I just spent about an hour on the "neutral section" in the game with one scenario/route and I see now where this is happening, I need to do a bit more research, the manual for TSW4 shows nothing about this other than when switching from say 15Kv to 25Kv and the need to lower the pantograph and to raise it again. I will update this post as soon as I can, as well as the videos.
Hello there these neutral sections are marked with three different signals First is the announce signal, warning you that a neutral section is about to start: This is followed by this signal, telling you to turn the MCB off: And lastly, the signal marking the end of the neutral section, meaning you can turn the MCB on again: If I remember correctly drivers would, when approaching the announcement signal, turn the MCB off, coast through the neutral section, then turn it on again. I hope that helps, Jan
Hi Jan, Thank you for explaining it to SGTDRE , but I think this clearly shows that stuff like this needs to be explained in the in-game tutorials. Can you please look into the possibility of adding how to handle neutral sections to the tutorials?
Just played Ballast Boogie on PS5, found that when changing into cab 2, I was unable to use any external views using the controller.
I spent a lot of hours last night into the wee hours of this morning searching, all for info on these sections, and nothing in the Manual even comes close to explaining any of this. After I thanked "Fawx" I ran special delivery at around half speed all the way to a crawl in the area where this happened, I did see those signs, not sure how I missed them. I will be amending a Video. It took me a good two or more hours to find out what those signs were meant to convey to the driver. I have the web page that I need to read through, the why, when, where, and reasoning and all this did not make me a happy camper, at one point I found "File: Dutch railway traction signs" I don't want to be told step by step what button to push, what knob to turn when to sit down when to apply power, That is just so annoying, that is why I read through the manual. In this case, I figured it out on my own and searched the internet for all the reasons and why. After a year plus with Train Sim ____ and other Train Sim games, I thought I had a good handle on things, Well it would seem I don't, I will be doing much more research to get a better understanding, as best I can because searching the intent these days is like looking for a needle in a haystack of infinite size. And I will be putting those videos into an archive, But the very beginning of Special Delivery, is the Black artifact that is flickering and it's undeniable.
It's been like that since launch and reported since but not fixed in the last 3 patches. You also cannot jump from cab 2 and have to use the steps unlike cab 1. I suppose thst is realistic but annoying that different ends of a loco behave differently.
First of all I'd like this is a great loco to drive. Only a minor issue, on Xbox one one Reisa Dresden, I've had some issues with textures rendering, they tend to be quite fuzzy but do resolve themselves. However, they do appear to always be a bit blurry in photo mode. Also unfortunately I did have a crash just outside of Reisa. I can't remember the exact service but I think it was around 9 with some tankers. I only had the deluxe edition dlcs installed so just vectron and the base route.
When in the number 2 can I can't access my default exterior camera by pushing the right stick down. It works in cab 1 fine.
I have noticed when scrolling through the interior views modes... the main screen of the Vectron - the one in front of the driver - is not showed. I believe it might do it.
Sorry if this has been reported already. In the ballast Boogie scenario, I am encountering a problem, it may be me or it may be a bug. After dropping the rake of wagons off and doing a run round when I've stopped to go back into the yard and have shut the cab off as instructed am I supposed to leave the loco brake on or should the brake cutoff hold the loco in place because I start rolling back and end the scenario by spadding?
You should set the train brake to Full Service before removing the brake key. You will then be able to release the brakes from the other cab after inserting the brake key there. That's what the brake key is for. German practice is a bit weird in having separate master and brake keys. Similarly, in the older types of British loco, the Shut Down position of the brake handle (which isolates its influence from the brake pipe, so it doesn't make applications or releases to conflict with other controls) is a step beyond the Emergency position (and protected by a lift pin). Thus you can only put the handle there after making at least a substantial brake application. In the older German types, this position is between the Apply and Release positions and adjacent to Lap, which is mechanically logical but ergonomically problematic. In the newer British types, the PBL or Westcode system is de-energised by removing the cab's master key, and this causes it to make a Full Service application. It is then re-energised by inserting the key in the other cab, and controlled by the levers there; there is only one set of valves, and all the rest is electronic. It is still good practice, even in these types, to select Full Service before removing the key.
If you’re just switching ends, however, usual practice is to only use the direct brake - apply on one side and leave in hold, change ends and release. But I recall TSW being a bit funky with the interplay of the direct brake levers between cabs (at least on the 185) and real practices not working in TSW.
This locomotive will not work. I set the cab on, brakes on, cut in, pantograph up, mcb closed. Yet it cant take power. I restart the battery and the screens are off, I try to turn it off and back on and there are still no screens but other lights come on. After several restarts of the timetable I now tried to change the track mode and it will not set any other option. How am I supposed to get this to work?
It is doing the same as the 187 it does not drive, the cab is on and setup but it will not move. I am using it on as free roam placement on Bremen Oldenburg. I enabled the cab on the back, turned on the brake key, pushed cut in so it starts flashing, pushed forward so it lights, pan up, mcb close, release brakes... nothing!
I can't use it on routes it has been provided on because the signals are causing me get stopped constantly. I tried following them as street tram signals but this is clearly not the same as it still stops the train constantly, there is no documentation showing the type and there's no public information. The only result I find are the ones that are normal tramway signals.
In some of the freight services that you can drive in the Vectron, you are routed to follow an all-stops passenger train. The average speed of such a train is considerably below the line speed limit, due to the time spent braking to a stop, stopped at the station, and accelerating away again. If you account for this while driving the freight train, ie. by driving at a lower speed such as 80kph, you'll find yourself spending much less time waiting at red signals.
There very much is public information and tutorials (both video and written) available on the net (e.g. the tutorial by tygerways#2596 as linked by lukas#9469). Tram signals and railway signals are worlds apart from another. If those don’t help, a video showing what you do might help us help you.
I have not seen that tutorial, I will check it out tomorrow. Thanks for sharing. Edit: By the information that is not public information, I meant something like this (https://www.railcar.co.uk/technology/).
Can we talk about that the vectron got its first update now and the wrong headlight configuration is still persistent? Dimmed high beams still only have the lower two lights lit up, the top one goes dark. Should be all three. Also for all other headlight configurations (low beam dimmed and bright and high beam bright) its correct..
It works for me too. Are you using any outdated Vectron related mods? In case you're using my cabcam mod, it was updated based on the DTG update.
Ok, well then I am sorry for writing that. Last time I checked which was a week ago it didn't work for me for some reason, I'll test it again right now.
Yep, must've been something on my end then. Apologies for my snarky message, if anyone from DTG sees this.
After some time of driving, the wipers stop working and cannot be turned on again, even after restarting the locomotive.
