    Hello everyone!

I can finally announce that the timetable is finished and released! :D

Total service count: 241, playable: 103
    key features:
    • official 2024 timetable w/ ABe 8/12 "Allegra"
    • freight services w/ Ge 4/4 II
    • static RhB trains in Chur
    • RABe 523 as an AI-only layer to make Chur less dead
Please note that you will be a minute or two late on some services. That's because most of the intermediate stops are request stops, and the real life timetable is based on the assumption that most trains don't have to stop everywhere. As request stops aren't a thing in TSW, you will stop everywhere which in turn means a bit of delay. But as long as you're not late when arriving in Chur or Arosa, everything is fine! ;)

    Timetable I based it on:

    Quick update on AI services:
So, I experimented a bit with the AI services in Chur and, well, found out that some signals block every train. I guess Rivet set it up like this to prohibit players the access to the other platforms at Chur station, which is fine but unfortunately makes AI trains moving in and out of Chur on the RhB track impossible. I tried both directions, got an error twice.
Here's an overview of the situation:
    chur_situation.png

However, I found a way to make the standard gauge stock move! It wasn't actually that hard, I just needed to tell the train to stop somewhere and then overwrite this location with a specific one - which in this case is the end of the track. So, there will be RABe 523s moving in and out of the station. There are only two (cuz there are only to outbound standard gauge tracks and no crossovers or portals): a single unit for S12 services and a double unit for IR35 services.
Additionally, there's RhB stock that "leaves" Chur to the west (the track ends like 50 m after the end of the platforms) which just goes back and forth like the 523s.
    Screenshot 2024-02-20 170202.png
(the Allegra in the background is a four-parter like in real life, just ignore that the wrong pantos are up all the time)

    TL;DR:
    • two signals block all RhB mainline traffic
    • RhB trains have to remain inside Chur station
    • RABe 523s are moving in and out of Chur
    • single unit to resemble S12 services (normally run with Stadler GTWs by thurbo)
    • double unit to resemble IR35 services (normally run with Stadler Flirt 4s by SOB)

    Monthly progress update:
To keep this thread more or less alive I want to do a little update of my progress every month. So, here's what I've done in February:
    • the first 3 hours of the timetable (5 am - 8 am) which are 30 services in total
    • figured out that RhB AI trains in Chur are impossible (see post above)
    • included some runaround and daytime storage services (needed cuz not all trains carry extra wagons, some are just regular Allegras)
    • made sure all trains are on time by selecting the right passing loop (this is actually the most challenging part on a single track route)
    • realized that the onboard PIS is fully functional!
Overall progress: I'd say 10% to 15% done

Oh, and here are some images to keep the post visually appealing:

If your intrested I have built a TT for Arosa that is on the Train Sim Comunity site, very simililar to what you are planning, took me about 5 weeks and a lot of planning but good fun to do.
And I see from your photos that you have the same issue as me with the wrong Pans up.

Yes, I've already come across your timetable on the TSC site! Have you finished it yet? If so, it would render my version of the modern ARL timetable rather redundant. But I guess, I'll finish it anyway, as I don't like leaving projects half way done.

The issue with the wrong pantos doesn't seem to be solvable sadly. I tried the "use narrow panto" setting in the formation settings, but it didn't change anything. It's likely hidden somewhere in the source code but I don't really want to mess around with this.

    Monthly progress update:
    • expanded the timetable to 11 am; now 58 services, 19 of which are playable (the half-hourly S12 services really add up quickly)
    • almost lost my mind trying to substitute the baggage car with the open wagon (pls help)
    • made sure all trains are on time (or max. one minute late)
    • swapped all ARL wagons with their Bernina Line counterparts to get rid of the horrid shopping cart noise
    • changed the spawn point in Arosa station so you can actually see the signal (normally you would spawn half a meter in front)
    Overall progress: 30%

    Have some pictures:

Shunting in Chur (all shunting and runaround services in Chur take place when there's action on the mainline!)

The first RE service! (yes they are still loco-hauled)

Can you make sure that we will be able to use the liveries for the Ge4/4 II from the both additional packs?
    Great work btw.!

    Thank you!

Yes, the Ge 4/4 II will spawn in a livery from the anniversary pack with a 21,7% chance (5 out of 23 locos) and you can choose them in the menu. As I don't own the 2nd pack, those liveries will obviously not show up. But I'll definitely add them to the mix when I pick it up. :)

And quick update on the substitution problem: I might have found a workaround. The open coach should now only appear if the anniversary pack is installed; otherwise nothing will spawn, just the three EW I coaches.

    Monthly progress update:
    • expanded the timetable all the way to 4 p.m. (116 total services, 44 playable)
    • needed to revert back to ARL EW I coaches for all loco-hauled services because the Ge 4/4 II is not compatible with the new ones (the doors can't be opened from the loco)
    • first experiments with dedicated freight trains; didn't go so well as the train just DID NOT want to finish its shunting moves in Langwies, no matter what I tried (it blocked ALL other trains)
    • made sure trains only switch tracks when necessary while shunting in Chur, not just because they feel like it
    • cooked and imported the timetable in the game for the first time! Worked pretty well, but you can't choose the Allegra in the menu for some reason
    Overall progress: around 60%

As usual, some pictures to round things off with: Screenshot 2024-04-21 123744.png
Because I haven't showed it yet: interior PIS is fully functional

Screenshot 2024-04-12 122608.png Double shunting action!

Screenshot 2024-04-21 124928.png Enjoying the scenery from the open coach

20240428122038_1.jpg First actual in-game screenshot! (as you can see, substitution for the Ge 4/4 II works)

very cool. it's sad I have to either choose the original timetable. the anniversary one with all the reskins or the agreggate one. if the scenery will stay like that because that's rivet's standard. I would've loved at least to merge the expansions into one timetable. I wonder how much is different apart from some added services for the actual expansion pack in those timetables. seeing some AI at chur mainline is very good though. it always felt so empty

The timetable is now almost done!

All passenger services and shunting moves are now included and working. I also managed to get one freight service running, although only after a lot of faffing around (including minor amounts of swearing) to get the stupid AI driver to finally figure out how to couple their loco to a wagon.

As of right now, there are 191 services, 94 of which are playable.
    Screenshot 2024-05-25 162147.png

This number will however increase a bit more, as I still have to set up the remaining AI services in Chur and want to include some more freight trains. Obviously, the number of extra freight trains heavily depends on how many unnecessary errors the editor throws at me in the process.

Planned release: end of this month

Well, as you might have guessed by this point, I couldn't hold with my prediction. I really didn't have enough time this week (only managed to finish all AI services), but I try to get it done on the weekend.

Anyways, thanks for the motivating words! :)

Sorry for the wait, but I have some problems with getting it running in the game.
The timetable itself is 100% completed, I just need to resolve some issues so you can actually play it. I don't know how long it'll take to fix that, so I can't give an estimation of when the release is.

Hi redcraft98 stunning job, really looking forward to play on arosa again after YEARS.
I have taken the train on this route in real life and it's absolutely stunning with views and the sounds of the train in the open wagon.

The only thing that is a deal breaker for me now are the terrible sounds. I have some audio recordings (from my phone) of the journey in an open wagon from my trip. Also from the capricorn but that is not in the game yet.
Maybe for a next project could you mod the audio from the trolleycarts they are now to some decent sounds?

I think there are some people who tried to mod it earlier but it seems to be pretty hard

I agree, the sounds of the ARL wagons are all terrible. I used their BLE equivalents where possible because they have way better running sounds (although still a bit like a shopping cart).
Tbh, I don't really want to get into sound modding/editing. I already had - and still have - enough trouble making this timetable, so I don't want to start an entirely different project right now. And for a properly good sound mod, you need properly good recordings. A phone recording isn't gonna cut it.
So, the atrocious sounds will likely remain unchanged.

    In other news,
    Screenshot 2024-06-06 174834.png

My project is featured in the roadmap!

Wow, I would've never expected this! Thanks DTG!
Yes, "very near completion" is technically true (the timetable is finished), but I still need to figure out why the game crashes when opening the timetable and why the Allegra just isn't selectable in the menu. If anyone could help me with this, I'd be really thankful. :)

Great News, I will be trying this this afternoon.

EDIT : Just did a couple of services. So nice driving the Allegra on Arosa. Chur looks a lot better with some other traffic in the main station. Only issue I found was that the 2 Night time storage services at the start of the timetable both spawn me on foot with no train. (I have all DLC's installed). Great job though.

That's because the game resets all formations at midnight, despite some of them still having uncompleted services. In the editor, you can set this reset time to whatever you like to allow services to extend beyond midnight, so I thought the game would do the same; but it seems to be hard-coded.

You can however play these services by selecting one of the two Allegra services right at the bottom (they're starting right before midnight) and selecting the continue on foot option once you finished. The formations will not reset while you're in the game when the clock hits midnight, so all services are playable.

Glad to hear you like it though! :)

    Version 1.1 release:
After a few weeks of break, I worked a bit more on the timetable. The only thing I did was setting the formation reset time to midnight to ensure all services are actually playable (see post above).

The updated version can be downloaded by clicking on the attached file under the first post or the release post.
I will also set up a page on the TSC website, so you can download it there as well.

Edit: you can now also download it via TSC: https://www.trainsimcommunity.com/m...11-timetables/i4962-arosa-line-2024-timetable
