after watching today's stream total freight services number - 112 (+84 more) total all-services number - 461 (+111 more) * HMA detroned (427) BR 182 DB Traffic RED disabled (AI problems) BR 182 MRCE enabled as a substitution BR 185.2 enabled as a substitution BR 155 enabled as a substitution source & The Meissen Branch looks great \o/ BR o7
Add in my compliments to the branch line (and all the other improvements), that section of track coming into Meißen, across the Elbe and along side the town is truly spectacular.
If ever a route screamed Germany, it’s this one! I watched the stream, and I was so impressed by the Meißen branch, it’s raised the bar yet again. Honestly, it’s fantastic. DTG, Matt, etc, everyone involved, seriously, well done! I haven’t been to Germany for 2 years now (for obvious reasons) and this has brought back so many happy memories, because it just feels German. Meißen reminds me a lot of Heidelberg, one of my favourite places in Germany.
Yes, from the stream alone, it appears to be the same excellent quality as the original route. I didn't quite get that comment about the ICE3 services, but I'll figure it out at launch I guess. I suppose the Flughafen branch is dead and buried, eh?
ICE3 services are disabled in the main timetable (used by journey mode etc) for PS4 and Xbox1 users due to memory issues since the ICE3 has so many unique wagons, and memory usage basically gets multiplied the more liveries you have for it. They added a secondary timetable though, which still includes the ICE services. So you can run those without problem, but the main timetable should be less prone to bugs and crashes from now on. Thanks to Matt for clearing this up just now! Flughafen branch isn’t 100% dead forever. Just like the Meißen branch, the tracks, signals and some scenery were all laid before work on it was stopped. Trains even run the entire length of it and open doors at some platforms. Theoretically, it could be finished and added within a few weeks like the Meißen branch, but Matt has repeatedly stated there are no plans for that to happen right now.
DB BR155 makes sense because German reunification that used to be called Deutsche Reichsbahn DDR BR250. Primary task Intercity and Freight the way you search this up on YouTube is Deutsche Reichsbahn Lehr film you're going to see it was used for both Freight and Passenger. Pre German reunification version of Riesa-Dresden would have seen DB BR155 do Freight and Passenger like DR BR243
Really good point and both cites see the use of DB BR143 146.2 Dostos. However they are on different sides of the former Iron Curtain inner German border East Germany Meißen Heidelberg West Germany
Both great in terms of visuals, but 155 braking like a sports car. I think that 182 doesn't have physics problems. Regarding sounds I think that 155 sounds better, but 182 also has great sound set. And in regards if they bring some new services I am not sure, I think not, just substitutions, but again maybe wrong on that one.
Thanks for the info. Last question was on layers if you or anyone else can address that. Just if purchasing these add more services?
Let’s hope the branch does add some pzazz, so to speak. Did my first run from Dresden to Riesa last night after buying the Pass and found the route incredibly tedious and boring. Nothing different to the other German routes we have so far and, IMHO, cannot beat either MSB or the Wuppertal route. Arrived at Riesa @0735 and the much vaunted “Rush Hour” experience has a large station with zero trains about and only one of the PIS departure boards showing an outgoing service back to Dresden after a 10 minute wait. I would not have paid full price £24.99 for this.
Sorry could anyone help. Considering the only other German add-ons I own are SKA and MSB, Should I be right in thinking the only layer I won’t have on BRD should I buy it is the IC 101 layer? Thanks.
I was surprised by the new freight timetable. When the number of freight services was originally called into question, I expected maybe 20 more if we‘re lucky. I didn‘t expect 100+ services with varied routes and varied consists. Huge shout out to cwf.green for making German freight improve by leaps and bounds with a single route! And we finally get to take the 155 home Yes, the Br 101 should be the only layer you‘re missing.
Also note that the BR 143 is now useable on freight services aswell, which might be a fun challenge for some (hauling 2700 tonnes with a 143 is bound to make me cry). I also have to say that I really like the fact that wagons now apply their correct brake settings automatically .
BR 155 is a must-have for me (RSN purchase required). For MRCE BR 182 you need to purchase HHL. BR 101 is the only payable layer for DRA and a very good purchase too (HRR required). The rest of the trains are either basic content or substitutes. details here >> link BR o7
Thank you for this great work DTG. It shows once again that this company, if it wants to, can do things very, very well.
Indeed, which makes it extra disappointing when they drop the ball cause here they showed they're fully capable of deliving great quality, i hope this sets the bar for the next routes, well done and props to everyone involved.
