Well I was thinking if it's where I think in Swalecliffe you could have the ramsgate branch line with the chatham mainline possibly together
If it is only a short route, they might be experimenting with it to see how well their dev team can work a route in TSW.
It’s looking more like a heritage, older railway than a newer, modern line. I guess it probably isn’t the Chatham Mainline/Branch Line etc.
Rivet can still do the first Swiss route for TSW. Maybe starting off with a Swiss route would be a little ambitious for them. They are new to TSW route building so a short route would be an ideal way to cut their teeth.
i wonder what the price will be and release date but i'm sure we will find that out tonight or tomorrow
that's the only reason why i don't play on the class 101 also don't understand the lapping brakes i don't know the technical term but yeah just never have fully understood how to use it easily
I’m so looking forward to this. It’s actually saved me from writing a route proposal. In fact, I didn’t write a proposal for it because being such a short route I thought it would never stand a chance of being made.
I'm pretty sure as it's electric it won't use gears. I'm guessing it'll be around £15 considering the length.
Doesn't have gearing, but the power system follows the standard practice of the era - if you're in a higher power notch and would like to go to a lower one, the power handle must be returned all the way to Off before going back up to the desired power setting. For example, going from Weak Field to Series would require me to go past Series to Off then back up to Series. Hopefully this has been modelled in the TSW version - can't see why it wouldn't considering RSDL got it right 12 years ago.
The Class 484 might be added as additional DLC. I don’t know if any of these are in service yet, though they are due to enter service this year.
I think the class 484 is still under construction at the moment. Only problem is that the line is going to be upgraded for the introduction of the new trains with an extra passing loop and higher platforms, so it might not be possible to set it in a period where both trains are in passenger service.
Looks like IOW is coming to TSW2 :s WOW :/ if they have any savy it should come with shunting stock or dare I say it steam lol Dont get me wrong Shanklin to Ryde is more interesting than the Bakerloo line but... :s I have a feeling you will get the Underground stock with the route but the shunting stock will be sold separately.
It will be interesting to see how they model the sea states for all weather types. The water effects in TSW tend to be a bit bland, and do need to change with the weather... Of course, if they are being really clever, they might include an option to drive the Catamaran to Portsmouth Harbour!
It would be great to have a massive surprise and find steam is included but I would say the chances of that are zero, I would suspect DTG will want to be the first with a steam loco. It would be something though if the steam railway is included maybe with a diesel shunter or two, although we will probably end up with a couple of SR green mark 1's, of which there are none on the IOW steam railway.
Actually, that wouldn't be so bad when it comes to collectable hunting, at least it would be quicker than walking/ running...
Yep. It's confirmed by DTG, we are getting Isle of Wight for TSW https://live.dovetailgames.com/live/train-sim-world/articles/article/tsw2-roadmap-18-august Seems like we will be getting a bit of a longer route - St Pancras to Faversham with 395 and 465 - so we will (probably) be getting a kent route, as many of us here in this thread wanted to see
Seems like they are looking into longer routes. None of these routes are confirmed so we won't know if we'll actually be getting them. Although both London-Faversham and Marsaille-Avignon are both over 90 miles long
Yes, it does seem promising that they're even planning to do these longer routes, especially as it does seem most of the community wants them.
Rivet Games is also in the planning section of the Roadmap with the Arosa line, which is a route based in Switzerland. Very exciting stuff!
I have seen gameplay of the TS version of this, and I think it will look great in TSW2 if they make it.
This announcement makes me happy. Always glad to see a non-modern UK route, and the old tube stock is the icing on the cake. The TS version is so horribly old and creaky now that having a new version is great! The road map looks generally positive, with new routes and locos by Rivet and Skyhook which is marvellous. Also fantastic to see some European routes outside Germany and the UK. Obviously I'm taking the road map with a pinch of salt until we know if/when stuff is actually coming, but still it's good to see.
I agree! I am pleased with how they framed the roadmap with different sections that let us know what part of development it is in without having to give us dates for stuff. By not having to put dates they can give us much more information on what they are working on.
