Introduction The Riviera & Avocet Lines are Diesel Passenger Lines in the United Kingdom, running between Exmouth and Paignton the lines are around 39 Miles long. In this suggestion, I run over the route, the rolling stock, run through my reasoning and some information, and hope I can make this seem interesting to you. Operations Operators Arriva Crosscountry Great Western Railway Rolling Stock Included Class 143 'Pacer' (GWR) Class 150 'Sprinter' (GWR) Class 220 'Voyager' (XC) Class 221 'Super Voyager' (XC) {Incredibly similar to the 220} For Owners of Great Western Express Class 166 'Networker Turbo' (GWR) Class 43 'HST' (GWR) {With XC Reskin} Services In this section I run over the Services available, and how many tph there are. All of these will be layed out like so: Start Station (if different, in game start station) - End Station (if different, in game end station) {Operated by -----} [X tpd] Ok, let's get into this. Source: Wikipedia Drivable Exmouth - Paignton {GWR} [~2 tph] [1 tph at certain stations] - Class 166, 150, 143 Exeter St. Davids - Penzance (Newton Abbot) {GWR} - Class 43 [1tph] St. James Park - Barnstaple (Exeter Saint Davids) {GWR} [1tph] - Class 150 Manchester (Exeter) - Paignton {XC} [Two return services per day] - Class 220, 221 & (XC Reskin) Class 43 AI Only Manchester Picc. - Exeter St. Davids {XC} (AI Only to make the station busier) [Once every 2 Hours] - Class 220, 221, 43 (Make it random?) London (Exeter S.) - Plymouth (Newton Abbot) {GWR} [1tp2h] - IRL class 802. Considering the pacer is here this route is a few years back so maybe just use a HST? London (Exeter S.) - Penzance (Newton Abbot) {GWR} [1tp2h] - Again, IRL class 802. Maybe use HST? However it's a narrow frame. After GWR was introduced, before Pacers were removed. Make of that what you will. My personal reasoning: General Reasons Firstly this route offers 2 operators, and 4 (3 if you think the voyagers should just be the same) Trains, so variety is certainly there. Arriva CrossCountry have featured in Train Simulator before, and are an operator I would love to see brought to TSW. Rolling Stock Choices Class 142: Pacers. I have seen many requested for them on these fair forums. Plus, they're Pacers... They're an ICON. Plus they were in TS Classic Riviera Line too. Class 150: Similarly to the Pacers, Sprinters are very well requested too, and this unit fits the route well. Class 220 & 221: Voyager + Cross Country Layering Choices I picked these trains (43, 166) To be layered for a few reasons. One) They are both already in GWR Livery Two) They both operate services on this route Three) The HST could be reskinned into CrossCountry, get a interior upgrade for it and you can add to CrossCountry as well. The Era Choice. I think the rolling stock choices are self-explanatory. If you support this like the post and vote in the poll, and feedback is appreciated. And if you don't support it, why not? I'm happy to hear critiscm (As long as it's constructive and not just abuse) As usual, thanks for reading.
I don't think DTG can make Cross Country content at the moment (all XC stuff on TS was removed last year as the license expired when Arriva were due to end their franchise term) but there's still plenty of variety to be made with GWR content. I would personally like to see the Class 150/2 and the Class 802 included, with the Class 143 as a follow-on DLC. The 166 and HST substituting services from GWE. The Class 66 from GWE could also add some bonus freight services (such as aggregate trains between Newton Abbot and Exeter yard).
