So, Sunday night heading up to the hotel Im staying this week for work, I decided to stop at both Roseville and Colfax and took some pics, while the sunset kind of made it difficult to get pics in Roseville Yard, Colfax wasn't too bad.

The light in the background of this pic was the rear of a Union Pacific Flanger, being pulled downgrade to Roseville by 2 Geeps, 1 was equipped with an Icicle breaker. Unfortunately couldn't get a pic of them.

Thought I'd share these with the TS community for anyone who's a fan of the Donner Pass Route. Not the best pics, but maybe I can get better ones later once its a little bit warmer.

The lighting is phenomenal. Great pictures! How come there's a B-Unit behind the rotary snowplow?

So had more time to explore of Donner pass today due to work sending me back to near Auburn and giving an extra night at the hotel, so went a bit more East, and caught both California Zephyrs.

Donner Lake, Summit, and the old track 1 tunnels & snowsheds

Wanted to get a few shots of the main tracks and whats left of Norden's snowsheds, but couldn't

Colfax, Both Amtrak trains were late, the Westbound Train 5 was 1.5hrs late, and the Eastbound Train 6 was 30 minutes late.
Interestingly Amtrak only loads and unloads passengers from the platforms on Train 6, Train 5 dropped its passengers at the road
    crossing.

Also the Consists were slightly different, the Eastbound had 3 sleepers, and 4 coaches, the Westbound had 4 sleepers and 3 coaches.

Also took a pic of UP 600 and 602 in Roseville, former SP GP38-2's equipped with Ice Breakers.[IMG]
