Hi everyone, I would love to suggest a beautiful and highly requested German commuter route for Train Sim World 7 or future titles: The S-Bahn Rostock Line S2, running directly between Warnemünde and Güstrow via Rostock Hbf. This route would be a fantastic addition to the game, combining scenic coastal vibes, bustling main-line hubs, and peaceful rural landscapes. Maybe in addition to other already requested lines from Rostock to Stralsund. The Route & Operations The S2 provides a seamless direct connection from the Baltic Sea coast all the way to the historic town of Güstrow. Key highlights include: Warnemünde: A popular seaside resort with a unique station layout right next to the cruise ship terminal and the Baltic Sea. Rostock Hbf: A major railway hub that offers incredible potential for layering with existing German rolling stock (ICEs, regional trains, and heavy freight trains). For Example from Rostock to Stralsund. The Countryside: After leaving the city of Rostock, the route transitions into a scenic, rural line leading down to Güstrow, offering a nice change of pace. 47,6 km of Length between the first and last stop, 17 stops in total and 58 min of cruise time. The Rolling Stock: BR 442 (Talent 2) The star of this route should definitely be the BR 442 (Talent 2) electric multiple unit (EMU) in the classic traffic red (DB livery), which is the primary train operated on this line. It would bring modern commuter gameplay to the region. Great acceleration and braking performance, perfect for the frequent S-Bahn stops. https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/S-Bahn_Rostock Why this route fits TSW perfectly: Diverse Gameplay: You get tight commuter timetables with frequent stops on the S-Bahn sections, combined with higher-speed regional running on the main lines. Atmosphere: The contrast between the salty coast of the Baltic Sea and the idyllic Mecklenburg countryside is visually stunning. Layering Opportunities: Since Rostock is a major hub, Dovetail could easily layer in existing German locomotives (like the BR 185, BR 146, or ICE) for other routes or special freight services. What do you think? Would you like to drive the Talent 2 along the Baltic coast? Let me know your thoughts!
