Also known as the Sugar Cane Train, this 3' Narrow Gauge train is a historic landmark on the island of Maui, Hawaii. With beautiful scenery, history, and something rarely seen: brother locomotives and a wooden turntable, the LK&PRR is honestly a beauty that should be recreated for the first time in a simulator, released to the public. A quick web-search of the "Sugar Cane Train" brings you to their website, and with a 2018 planned re-opening, it's highly plausible that the 6mi shortline narrow gauge could be worth DTG's time for a quick but well-done route/locomotive release.

SUMMARY, FROM THE WIKI PAGE AND SUGAR CANE TRAIN WEBSITE (p/much a TL: DR that's even pretty long)

With 3 working locomotives (and one planned to be refurbished), the LK&P has been wowing tourists with 2 stations, a blowdown by the train yard (near the half-point of the line) and over the wooden trestle, the history and beauty of the train might just be the best of any short line historic railroad.

    LOCOMOTIVES:
Narrow Gauge 2-4-0 No. 1, Anaka: An ex-0-4-0 Saddle Tank (rebuilt into the beauty it is today) painted in red, green, and gold, representing the original old locomotives used to pull actual sugar cane over the line.
Narrow Gauge 2-4-0 No. 3, Myrtle: Built as a "Brother Engine" to No. 1, Myrtle is painted into a rich black with silver details and an oil tender sporting the railroad name on it near the top. After purchase, LK&PRR altered the appearance slightly of No. 3 to create a slightly more modern appearance to represent an oil-burner from the early 20th century.
Narrow Gauge 0-6-2 No. 5: A old locomotive ran by the Oahu Railway and Land Company that still needs to be refurbished, but sits in front of the Lahaina station as a welcome to all who pass by. The locomotive is painted in the similar red, green, and gold as No. 1.
Narrow Gauge MDT Plymouth Diesel No. 45, Oahu: Not much is known about this locomotive except for the paint being almost entirely red with gold paint, showing the LK&P, number 45, and its name, "Oaho" along both sides.
    CARS:
Usually ran as a 4 car consist, the steam locomotives tend to drive in front of 4 cars, painted entirely in either yellow and green or red and green with the Lahaina Kaanapali Railroad logo under the roof of these open-window antique wooden cars and pink flowers along the bottoms of them. The red cars only have the LK&P writing with no flowers underneath, and the yellow ones have lettering along the side with numbers marking which one is which. Usually, the locomotive will drive on one end of this 4-car consist and run around after using the turntable at the terminus, hooking up to the other end. Many videos of the LK&PRR show different consists, some with 3 yellow cars and 1 red or 2 and 2. I have yet to come across a video of 3 red and 1 yellow (nor do I ever recall seeing that as a visitor to the railway before its temporary closure for refurbishment in 2014). Their website shows a very well taken photo of their "Aloha Cars" as well as No. 1 on the front page.

Some more information about the history of the LK&PRR can be found on their website as well as the wiki page, linked below. Many videos of the cars interiors are found online on YouTube as well as through generic photo searches.
