Hello; i have an idea for a potential German route: München - Landshut (+ airport link called Neufahrner Spange): - 76km long (base route) [fits good for TSW 3] - It has a good mix of freight (BMW facilities) and regional passenger train services (S-Bahn, RB, RE) - Unfortunatly there is no IC or ICE here - Also the route is not the most scenic one, you can imagine (city, suburbs, airport, etc.), but is a normal busy one. - Full service on München-Landshut with an RE should take around 50 mins; the RB service Landshut-Freising should last around 30 mins and the S-Bahn-drive also around 40 min. - Max. speed is 160 kph As an potential new train set here i suggest the DB BR 440 (known as Alstom Coradia Continental), which could be also used on the München-Augsburg-Line. The 440 operates on the München-Passau-Line (branded as Donau-Isar-Express) and in case of this route, it will make the whole line, from Munich to Landshut with 2 intermediate stops (Freising and Moosburg). As the route is packed with services, it could also hold a filled timetable for other vehicles: - DB 423 (S-Bahn line S1), for the München-Hackerbrücke - Freising part (also if the airport link would be there, for that branch) -> The trains are divided in Neufahrn, as the front part takes the route to Freising and the second part takes the airport branch. - DB 425 (from Hauptstrecke Rhein-Ruhr): This trainset operates as a RB (Regionalbahn) mostly between Landshut and Freising (some services are longer and go to München HBF). Also this line stops at every station in between. - DB 146.2: This loco operates at the München-Regensburg/Nürnberg line (via Landshut) and sometimes also on the Donau-Isar Express. That services stops only in Freising and Moosburg. - DB 442 Talent 2 (form SFS Köln or Dresden-Riesa): This set operates on the Flughafen-Express (Munich Airport - Regensburg, via Freising, Moosburg and Landshut). In case the airport branch would be included the train could start there. Otherwise it can start in Freising too. - And finally the DB 185 for the cargo services between München Moosach (there is a branch to the cargo yard and BMW factory) and Landshut (as the end station of the line, but originally going to Regensburg or Dingolfing -> both have BMW factories) Overview: Timetable / Service times: The Donau-Isar-Express operates every hour, so does the Flughafen-Express, but it only goes to Freising (/ Airport). The RB between Landshut and Freising operates normally every 2 hours. [14 trains a day]. The RE between Nürnberg and München (via Regensburg and Landshut) operates also every 120 minutes, like the ALX RE2. Both of them make it a 60-min-interval for that route. Example Timetable for Landshut (towards Freising/München) an a normal workday: 12:02 - RE 22 (from Regensburg) - München Airport (via Moosburg, Freising) - Duration to Freising 22 min (to the airport 38 min) 12:11 - RB 33 (starts in Landshut) - Freising (all stops) - Duration 29 min 12:32 - ALX RE 2 (from Prague / Hof) - München HBF (via Freising) - Duration 46 min [its an other company then the DB, so it can be skipped; used loco is mostly 182/183, but the coaches would be a problem: some Czech, some Dosto and some older regional carriages] 12:48 - RE 3 (from Passau) - München HBF (via Moosburg, Freising) - Duration 49 min -- 13:06 - RE 22 13:29 - RE 50 (from Nürnberg) - München (via Moosburg, Freising) - Duration 47 min 13:34 - RB 33 13:48 - RE 3 --
