This is not a big deal, but this type of issue should be avoided. I drive from Shaw Mine to Garret Siding with a long train. At Garret Siding the stop marker is just at the beginning of the siding. I I put the train there, the main track is blocked. This may be fatal if you drive an AI train there. I have seen the same issue a Newhaven Aggregate Terminal for a freight train ending there.
It is a big deal. The game should know what direction you’re heading into a siding and adjust the stop point accordingly (while you are planning, not driving), having a stop point at both ends of a siding and setting the correct one. I’m not sure if it will ever happen but the start and end points really need to be selected on the actual 2D map, especially for freight routes, but then we’re getting into the realms of a full ed.... I’m not going to say it.
