Can it be acted upon too? We’ve been waiting since TSW2 for some improvements. The amount of paths and variety of paths has got a little better over time but that’s about it.
Simrail with editor and multiplayer long routes etc etc will mean that Dovetail will have to rethink or they will lose market share. (Pc market) we can only scream here in the forum but they don't act. Only if it stings economically do they act
jörgen Näslund "scream here in the forum"? No that won't make anyone act. Get involved. Offer constructive feedback with proposed solutions. That will get people to act. Don't fall into the banshee trap everyone just ignores them.
Hello. I'm quite the new player (jumped on the sales at the beginning of the month), so maybe my point of view is lacking context or maybe there are things we can do in scenarii that I didn't found out, but here what I think is lacking VERY MUCH!! It is impossible to define the smallest event like Wait until an hour Show any text Trigger an alarm or any special event Block a track and reroute the train accordingly Asking the player to go at a certain point on foot Requesting the player to activate certain parts of the train. I didn't saw any way to send the a train anywhere that is not a platform on a station. What if I want the player to park the train at the depot? It is not possible to set the departure / arrival of a train for each station. We can only set departure time for the first station. With all due respect, the scenario editor as it is has less functionality than a timetable mission. It should contains plenty of options. Look at your own scenarii / tutorials. We should be able to reproduce them all. Those are all the function players are missing in the scenario editor. To give you a better example, I should be able to make a scenario explaining a player how to use AWS / TPWS. Honestly, when I saw that the scenario editor was as empty as it is, my hype for the game I just bought went down pretty fast. There is no replayability since the only interesting things I can do are the official scenarii. Jumping on a train for a quick mission is nice, but being able to handle « unattended » situations makes the salt of any game like this. If the only thing players can make are missions where everything is nominal, this is quite a downer for a sim game, in my humble opinion.
Reading such feedback from a new player is fairly interesting and (without any offense) amusing. I've been a player for more than four years, scenario planner is here for more than two years, and yes, all that time, it is this bare-bone catastrophe - some routes have so few possible paths in scenario planner that you practically won't be able to meet a train when playing. And not exactly easy to use either, so it's not even like TSC QuickDrive. I don't get why this feature doesn't get some more attention - well-made community scenarios could make even the worst routes pretty attractive and help them sell better.
OMG THANK YOUUUUUUU I BEEN SAYING THIS FOR THE LONGEST I BEEN BEGGING FOR THEM TO UPDATE SCENARIO PLANNER and for me UPDATING THIS WILL SEND THIS GAME THRU THE UNIVERSE IM SALES I DONT KNOW WHY THEY NOT UPDATING THIS FEATURE ITS BEYOND CRAZY
2 and a half years since this thread was created and it feels as though it’s still the same as it was when it was introduced. are there any plans to actually improve scenario planner soon/in the future?
I said it a thousand times imma say it again if they update scenario planner to its fullest potential this will send this game thru the universe in sales we are begging for it
Totally agree. Have been patiently waiting for more functionality. It would be more appropriate to re-title it as Service Creator. The Oakville Subdivision has so much potential to make some great scenarios, IF, the scenario editor functioned the way the community has suggested. I’m curious if anyone at dovetail looks at this forum post? Never see any input or response from them. The community wants answers to these posts. So Dovetail, I respectfully request you provide some feedback to the community as to why you are ignoring us on making the Scenario Editor what it should be. Why do you keep ignoring us?
First, I want to reiterate the addition of coupling/uncoupling operations as a first step toward making switching scenarios possible. However, being able to set dispatcher-controlled switches would also be necessary. Both of these functions have been available in TS for years; surely they are not impossible in TSW?
