Welcome all to my first remaster of a previous suggestion I have made, I'm TrainGeek08 as ever and today I'm remastering the first suggestion I made on these forums, the Scottish East Coast Main Line from Aberdeen to Dundee (or my local line) but in my current format with some additions just for this one :)

Previous suggestion: Scottish East Coast Main Line: Aberdeen-Dundee

Let's get onto it shall we?

Route Description in Game Stores (Steam, Microsoft, PlayStation and Epic):

Drive modern diesel traction along some scenic coastlines in North East Scotland in Train Sim World: Scottish East Coast Main Line: Aberdeen-Dundee

    LAMP Process:
    L
icensing - In all, four licenses will be required in order to make this route; one is already present in game, that being ScotRail however the LNER, CrossCountry and Caledonian Sleeper licenses would be required for station signage etc. so that might be an issue (especially with CrossCountry)

    A
nticipitation - This route would fall under the 'modern route with DMUs' category as loads of suggestions have suggested DMUs across the years and this one would be a great candidate IMO

    M
ix - If we are talking about service frequency, there is an obvious mix in services as you have local stopping services between Dundee and Arbroath plus Montrose to Inverurie/Aberdeen linked with fast expresses between the two cities of Dundee and Aberdeen

    P
rominence - There are loads of POI on this route (more on that on Page 3) in the towns and cities along the route like the Arbroath Abbey or the Montrose Basin on route

    Price:

    GBP: 29.99
    EUR: 34.99

    Stations:
    Aberdeen
    [IMG]

Aberdeen railway station is the main railway station in Aberdeen, Scotland. It is the busiest railway station in Scotland north of the major cities of Glasgow and Edinburgh. It is located on Guild Street in the city centre, next to Union Square Shopping Centre.

The station is managed by ScotRail. Inter-city, regional, local and sleeper train services are provided to all parts of Great Britain by ScotRail, Caledonian Sleeper, CrossCountry and LNER. The station is the northern terminus of the Dundee-Aberdeen line and the southern terminus of the Aberdeen-Inverness line and is measured 241 miles 6 chains (388.0 km) from Carlisle via Perth.

    Stonehaven:

    Stonehaven railway station
serves the town of Stonehaven in Aberdeenshire, Scotland. It is sited 224 miles 74 chains (362.0 kilometres) from Carlisle via Perth, on the Dundee to Aberdeen line, and is situated between Laurencekirk and Portlethen. There is a crossover at the southern end of the station, which can be used to facilitate trains turning back if the line towards Aberdeen is blocked.

    Now we head into Angus...

    Montrose:

Montrose railway station serves the town of Montrose in Angus Scotland. The station overlooks the Montrose Basin and is situated on the Dundee-Aberdeen line, 90 miles (144 km) north of Edinburgh Waverley, between Arbroath and Laurencekirk. There is a crossover at the north end of the station, which can be used to facilitate trains turning back if the line south to Arbroath is blocked.

    Arbroath:

Arbroath railway station serves the town of Arbroath in Angus, Scotland. The station is 17 miles (27 km) east of Dundee on the line between Dundee and Aberdeen, between Carnoustie and Montrose. There are two crossovers at the north end of the station, which can be used to facilitate trains turning back if the line south to Carnoustie is blocked. ScotRail, who manage the station, provide most of the services, along with CrossCountry, LNER and Caledonian Sleeper.

    Dundee:

Dundee railway station serves the city of Dundee on the east coast of Scotland. It is situated on the northern, non-electrified section of the East Coast Main Line, 59+1⁄4 miles (95.4 km) northeast of Edinburgh. Dundee is the tenth busiest station in Scotland. In January 2014, the former main station building was demolished to make way for a new building as part of the Dundee Waterfront Project which opened on 9 July 2018. Dundee railway station is where the Edinburgh-Dundee line meets the Glasgow-Dundee line, via Perth. It is also the start of the Dundee-Aberdeen line.

    Points of Interest (POI):

    Championship Golf Course at Carnoustie:

Carnoustie Golf Links is in Carnoustie, Angus, Scotland. Carnoustie has four courses – the historic Championship Course, the Burnside Course, the Buddon Links Course and a free-to-play short, five-hole course called The Nestie. Carnoustie Golf Links is one of the venues in the Open Championship rotation and has hosted golf's oldest major on eight occasions (1931, 1937, 1953, 1968, 1975, 1999, 2007, 2018), as well as the Senior Open Championship in 2010 and 2016 and the Women's British Open in 2011 and 2021.

    Arbroath Abbey:

Arbroath Abbey, in the Scottish town of Arbroath, was founded in 1178 by King William the Lion for a group of Tironensian Benedictine monks from Kelso Abbey. It was consecrated in 1197 with a dedication to the deceased Saint Thomas Becket, whom the king had met at the English court. It was William's only personal foundation — he was buried before the high altar of the church in 1214. The last Abbot was Cardinal David Beaton, who in 1522 succeeded his uncle James to become Archbishop of St Andrews. The Abbey is cared for by Historic Environment Scotland and is open to the public throughout the year (entrance charge). The distinctive red sandstone ruins stand at the top of the High Street in Arbroath.

    Lunan Bay:

Lunan is a hamlet in Angus, Scotland, in the parish of the same name, 6 kilometres (3.7 mi) south of Montrose. The hamlet overlooks Lunan Bay, which is itself also a hamlet, at the mouth of the Lunan Water. A 16th-century priest of Lunan church, which is in the hamlet of Lunan Bay, Walter Mill, was one of the last Scottish Protestant martyrs to be burned at St. Andrews. The church itself was rebuilt in 1844. The 15th-century Red Castle, so called from the red sandstone it is built from, is located 500 metres (1,600 ft) to the south of the hamlet, on the south bank of the Lunan Water.

    Montrose Basin:

Montrose Basin is a nearly circular tidal basin which makes up part of the estuary of the River South Esk and which sits just inland of the town of Montrose in Angus on the east coast of Scotland. The basin is protected by a number of designations, it is managed by the Scottish Wildlife Trust as a Wildlife Reserve, as well as being designated as a Local Nature Reserve, Site of Special Scientific Interest, a Special Protection Area and a Ramsar Site.

    Dunnottar Castle:

Dunnottar Castle (Scottish Gaelic: Dùn Fhoithear, "fort on the shelving slope") is a ruined medieval fortress located upon a rocky headland on the north-eastern coast of Scotland, about 2 miles (3 kilometres) south of Stonehaven. The surviving buildings are largely of the 15th and 16th centuries, but the site is believed to have been fortified in the Early Middle Ages. Dunnottar has played a prominent role in the history of Scotland through to the 18th-century Jacobite risings because of its strategic location and defensive strength. Dunnottar is best known as the place where the Honours of Scotland, the Scottish crown jewels, were hidden from Oliver Cromwell's invading army in the 17th century. The property of the Keiths from the 14th century, and the seat of the Earl Marischal, Dunnottar declined after the last Earl forfeited his titles by taking part in the Jacobite rebellion of 1715. The castle was restored in the 20th century and is now open to the public. The ruins of the castle are spread over 1.4 hectares (3+1⁄2 acres), surrounded by steep cliffs that drop to the North Sea, 160 feet (50 metres) below. A narrow strip of land joins the headland to the mainland, along which a steep path leads up to the gatehouse. The various buildings within the castle include the 14th-century tower house as well as the 16th-century palace. Dunnottar Castle is a scheduled monument, and twelve structures on the site were listed buildings.

    North Sea Views:

The North Sea lies between Great Britain, Denmark, Norway, Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium and France. An epeiric sea on the European continental shelf, it connects to the Atlantic Ocean through the English Channel in the south and the Norwegian Sea in the north. It is more than 970 kilometres (600 mi) long and 580 kilometres (360 mi) wide, covering 570,000 square kilometres (220,000 sq mi).

I hope you enjoyed this remastered suggestion, it's something different to usual but as ever put your thoughts down below and whether I should remaster older suggestions more often, I've been TrainGeek08, and I'll see you later, goodbye :)

I had to double take at this initially as I did recognise it! As I probably would have said before, this is a great suggestion which I would love to see in game as it would be very scenic and include some good traction which would be great to drive on the route. Brilliant suggestion mate!

Excellent idea and furthermore one can see Scotrail combining the 158 and 170 together on this route. Speaking of Class 73 that can run on BML ECW SEHS on Third Rail power. The basis of class 73 needs to be the working MKS version from TSC.

Yes, ScotRail do that regularly on a Sunday along with two 170s coupled together on the same day :)

It would be great to see if Masterkey Simulation would be interested in joining the TSW Partner Programme for the Class 73 to be produced for TSW ;)

I am with you on that one you can check train simulator classic Forums on why the master key simulation version is better. In that one DTG version is based from IHH/Kuju assets therefore A and D keys don't work properly while the MKS versions has the A and D keys working properly . Basically the TSW community don't want a flawed version that is exactly the same as train simulator classic and therefore the master key simulation version is needed to fit the game.

Yes, what's better than not making a Class 73 as it should when Masterkey Simulation made the Class 73 in TSC with accuracy :)
