Ironically enough they're using the Bmz coaches also as nightjet services in the timetable, which if they did just a simple livery for, wouldn't actually be wrong, NJ Sitzwagen is the Bmz.

Of course, you would then need Liegewagen (interior change) and Schlafwagen (a completely different model), but having at least the coaches in this livery would help a lot.

Yeah, it's definitely something that should've been there, there's no way around, no EC service would run without them.

 

although I'd love to see this and want to praise dtg for their better route buiding. the reduced amount of rolling stock per route and how long it took for the cabcar which in my eyes should've been released with the 101. I highly doubt even reskins to NJ wagons or a first class coach will happen within a year. seeing the loco addon packs going away too just as the loco dlc. we are forced to buy all the routes to get a somewhat normal ish railscene. there also seems to be a conflict of realism and using all the possible rolling stock. since it's either the reason stuff gets left out or the reason random stuff like a vectron in 2013 salzburg rosenheim or a 612 on Maintalbahn. future proofing like IC on voralberg or updating timetables is something that doesn't happen though. that month of development it supposedly takes for one person as DTG said is way too much. I love that some of the people there do take their free time to make timetable updates. WSR is great and I can't wait to play SKA when it's updated.

The first class IC coaches presently in game are Avmz compartment coaches (DB Avmmz 106). Apmz would be open-salon coaches.

These originated as Eurofima X (Folg), like the 2d-class DB IC coaches (note the centrally-positioned vent grille and mostly solid underframe skirt)

To avoid mistakes, I demote them U+. The OBB 1216 here in Italy are the most popular and can be found practically everywhere. However some Railjets are towed by OBB 1116 (U3 or U4?). One of them is the RJ 133 Vienna Hbf-Venice S.Lucia.

 

If the new Route has the same Texture Quality Problems like Salzburg-Rosenheim, they can keep it for themselves. At dtg_ Matt and JD you should look at the texturing problems first. It ruins the whole game!!!

Yes it is. Especially on Xbox and PS5. It happens on some Routes but not aon all. For example on Salzburg-Rosenheim, Dresden-Riesa and newer Routes like Doncaster-Peterborough and some others

 

Loving the higher quality scenery and asset detail eg the pantographs, trees, distant scenery, less repeating textures.

 

It could be related to the graphics optimization for consoles. It's always best to show the exact areas with screenshots so that the dev teams know where improvements need to be made. One main reason may be that the beta testers can only test on the PC and so console-specific bugs are somewhat overlooked. That's why it's good to keep drawing attention to yourself as a console player!

 

Can't remember anything of that on my PS5. Texture issues are reported from the last-gen consoles.

It's probably worth clarifying which console the screenshots are taken from, TSW's graphics settings are very different between the different consoles so a problem seen on one brand may not appear on another. As a general rule of thumb PS5 is prettier but can suffer FPS drops, whereas Series X misses entire mountain ranges but sticks to a locked 60 FPS.

Just a warning for two of the railtours, the class 47 can't open the passenger doors on the IC coaches on both sides and the BR 193 can't open the doors on the right side. We don't want that problem happening like what happened to the BR 182 EN services on Voralberg which affects running as AI.

 

yeah that CJX bugs me a lot CJX in general IRL is great - you get the intercity kind of service and stops, but in a cheaper commuter train... and 4746 accelerates like devil, pushing you into your seat, which feels great... I hope we eventually get 4746s, as those are omnipresent now as much as Taurus... and they are also kind of symbol of change, passing of the torch from vintage 4020/5040s... like, one of the best and nicest commuter/regional trains in the world IMHO

 

That's right, that's unworthy for a PS5. Actually, such washed-out textures appear more often on the PS4 generation because UE4 wants to reduce RAM usage and high-resolution textures can eat up resources. Why this happens on the PS5 is strange, especially since these are original textures and not repainted ones from the Creators Club?

I think that the problem has now been addressed well and there are enough meaningful screenshots. What was the topic of this thread again: the Semmeringbahn presentation, right.

 

pascal.weick As I said, didn't have such graphical issues recently. Maybe you have to adjust some settings?

There was a messed up update sometime ago, that produced such graphical issues. But that has been resolved quite quickly.

I'm very much looking forward to the much-anticipated Semmeringbahn and I want to continue seeing more of Austria (especially loco DLC from here) represented in TSW.

However, Vorarlberg should've really had some new long-distance passenger services with the 1116 added - still feels strange such a route is still missing such important services. Meanwhile, no mention of the 1116 subbing in for freight for Rosenheim-Salzburg?

I assume this means no purely AI traffic at Salzburg Hbf from the 1116 to have the station feel a bit more busier?

 

from my research a decent amount of the EC go from salzburg over kufstein. wondering if they are put in. salzburg itself does miss a lot of the S2 and REX that turn around there. I bet because of consoles since they can't be hard to add in. really hope that they fix the 112 thinking it's a freight loco. I'm really done with the random trips giving me that 112 on a KWG freight train. seeing the 1116 on more freight and the ingame NJ's would be lovely. especially with some CC liveries

 

The texture issues on PS5 (which I’ve only noticed to be a problem on Rosenheim) seems to be triggered by switching cameras - particularly going into exterior then interior again.

I’ve not had this issue present itself when staying in cab view or on other routes.

 

I liked very much this route on TSC, but with the graphic of TSW4, i may love it, especially with the extension till Wiener Neustadt.
I hope this is a high quality route

 

are this taurus and the BR182 the same thing?

 

As far as i know they are from the same series but still different in some ways.
The preview of the new Taurus/Öbb 1116(i think) shows some differences in the cab and Sound etc.
I would say its like comparing a br 145 and a br 146.

The 182 is the same loco in the real world.... The MFD is not original and is build in later for ETCS use. The loco it self is the same. 182 is a number for the German side and 1116/1016 for OBB. So the 1116/1016 are 182 also!

 

Yes i know that, but i was just trying to say its not just the same loco in a different livery. The Example with the 145 and 146 was a bit too much, i guess.

 

Yes and no! The locomotive is the same but the öbb has made some changes to the loco it self... For example to run in RJ modus or MFD instead of MFA. Further more some displays are different places. But 182 has also this type of changes... You order this loco and you can create youre wishes. The same like a new car. For example a part of the 1116 are changed to run in Switzerland with a third panto but that have some 182 locos also!

Yeah a part of the 1116 fleet is fit to run until Zürich but there is a small pantograph needed due to the smaller profile of the railwaysystem. But not all 1116 are allowed to run into Switzerland

 

The Series X SHOULD be able to provide the same graphical fidelity and performance of the PS5. It seems like what DTG have done is downgrade the overall graphics of the Xbox X so that it is more easily scaled to the Series S. Other games seem to manage to do the Series S and X by running it in lower resolution on the S but still hitting the same standard as PS5 on the X so not sure what's going on with DTG there. Most other games have figured it out by using separate modes, i.e. The Crew Motorfest is identical on PS5/XSX with a 4k 30fps quality mode and a 1440p 60fps performance mode, there is no perceptible difference in a side by side PS5/XSX comparison. For the Series S they went further with one mode which is 1080p 60fps. But they didn't have to downgrade the Series X experience in any way to make it work on Series S, just the graphical experience of the S version specifically.

In regards to the lack of 1st class coaches... that would maybe be more acceptable in a game where you are only looking at exterior views... but considering part of the entire point of the "World" in TSW is that you can walk around and explore the interiors, that seems like corner cutting and not up to prior standards (IC, Dosto, Amfleets, Acela, HST, etc etc all have the correct class setups).

 

If one were to own this one does the 1116 count for the RT182 True Taurus achievement or not? If yes a big help for those that are willing to do it rather than playing the following routes RT Schnellfahrstrecke Hannover Würzburg and Vogelfluglinie Bahnstrecke Hamburg Lübeck Puttgarden versions

Congratulations all involved, this is a high quality route.
Lovely vibe in the stream, Jan, Lukas, Matt.
Loving the increased level of detail in the assets & terrain, across the board - pantographs, ground textures, buildings, people and the reduction of repeating patterns.
Looking forward to driving this in the 103, with a heavy load, for a challenge.

 

yeah it might be missing first class coaches. a desiro mainline and cityjet stuff next to the railjet. but I hope to see those on the route one day. even without that it looks amazing. definetely something to look out for and one of my top routes when there is more rolling stock. the railtours are a great extra touch.

 

making Desiro ML, the more detailed the better, in any of its variants, would be a huge win... not only is it my fav train, but also one of most ubiquitous trains/EMUs in all of Austria... you can fit it on pretty much any Austrian route... plus, we would get a realistic half of CJX9's route

 

Regarding people complaining about the Series S version Matt has confirmed the only people stopping this is Microsoft because they are demanding parity of everything except resolution which is exactly what many other Devs have complained is negatively impacting the Series X versions.. Sadly until Microsoft reverse this precedent which seems unlikely if you want a guaranteed current gen experience on console your only option is to play on PS5. This is not a Dovetail issue so you need to complain to Microsoft not them.

 

Mmm then explain why MSFS, Fernbus and Forza have separate settings that can be manually adjusted as well between the S and X.

And with the new LIRR has a reduced timetable for the Series S and a full one for the Series X.

And the fact Matt has said they are working on getting Series X to PS5 parity on another thread.

Sounds like a developer thing not Microsoft to me..
