The 060-EA electric locomotive is one of the most iconic locomotives developed to serve the railway networks of Eastern Europe, particularly Romania. With its 25 kV AC power system developing a whopping 5100kW (more than 6,000 horsepower) the 060-EA can haul heavy trains and reach a speed of 160 km/h (99mph), making it suitable for fast and intercity trains.

The 060-EA as recreated by developers RailForge for Train Simulator Classic is a Pro Range tribute to this historic powerhouse, with realistically recreated in-cab signalling and safety systems and numerous controls for lighting, systems operation and more. It also includes scenarios for the Konstanz – Villingen route to let you put this powerful machine through its paces.

As a Pro Range loco, inside the cab you will find operable systems such as INDUSI, DSV, dynamic braking and simulated radio operation.

If you need realism with pulling power, look no further!

Watch the Stream from RailForge Today at 6pm BST

What is the point of this loco when there are no Romanian routes and wagons?

Romania runs on Single-phase AC 25,000 V, 50 Hz but Germany runs on Single-phase AC 15,000 V,16.7 Hz.

So this loco should not even be suitable to run in Germany(Konstanz – Villingen route).

I respect that this is bringing something unique to the sim.

There have been two coach packs released recently.
Save 30% on TS Marketplace: RO Calatori B 26-47 Coach Pack on Steam

There are freeware routes out there, a year or two ago someone shared many screenshots about it.
If Konstanz-Villingen is anything similar to the Black Forest Journeys, it should feel home visually.
This may encourage folks to look into Romanian content.

There are many excellent Romanian routes but none via Steam. Check out RailStudio, Rail Markt and Train Motion as well as Rail Forge. They all have good websites. Train Motion released an EA692 in a different livery to this one but otherwise same quality via DTG about 3/4 years ago. It's still available on Steam currently on sale.

I agree with mindenjohn. Rail Studio is currently under maintenance, but there's a lot of railway adventures even in the virtual Eastern Europe. Look forward to seeing these assets on Steam Marketplace, maybe the problem could be they need a lot of third-party downloads as dependencies.
